Its a rhizome 😂😂😂😂. I just repurchased a birds nest Fern and some zz's i really need another raven and zensi but they are hard to find i want a philodendron selom bcus mine got huge then died. Im finding these stupid growers are putting death plugs on the plants and your plants is dead by the time you realize it. I'm way up north in northern NY near Canada we RARELY have clearance 5 and under. They'd rather throw them away and get a write off than give them away or give anything off. But i do a lot of cuttings and do barter system with ppl. This summer 2025 i will try and organize a plant/cutting swap wish list event. I know this video is old but i plan on rehabbing my monster's by combining cuttings ive rooted and starting completely over with one that got leggy and runners. So, ill have a few plant projects 😊 this Fall. It can get down to -19 here so i dont wanna stress my babies out.

Thanks for the video. I don’t have great luck with Alocasia, but will try the semi hydro- spider mites seem to seek out Alocasia more then any other plant at least at my house 😂. Great video and love your plants

I don't care about the alge I figure its doin good if it's there, but not taking over. I use clear pots for everything I can😅 I love to see the roots and my dirt mix its just as pretty as the plant😂 all together its gorgeous.

Is there water in it and how often to change water ?

Different Hoya species smell different. Some are like butterscotch and some are sweet but boozy, like vanilla extract. A few smell "floral", like a perfume blend or granny's powder makeup. Some smell like faintly like of fruity chocolate.

The lady at the nursery told me to mist the leaves and keep it in the shade. The bleeding numpty pretty much told me to kill it slowly 🤦🏻‍♀️

🤔 Very beautiful hostess. Clearly knowledgeable and passionate about your hobby. In the long run it’s better for a multitude of ways to make your own Pon. I utilize Calcined Clay and “ Special Kitty “ natural clay cat litter in my home made Pon. The two clays give a number of nutrients and have a excellent water holding and wicking capacity. I wish you success with your TH-cam endeavors and your hobby. ✊🏽✊🏿✊🏾

I got my first alocasia a few months ago and I’m still learning they seem to be way fussyer compared to most other plants I have . It took about 2 months of sitting with one leaf then one day it started to grow .when I got 3 big leaves a week ago I repotted it and now it’s sad looking.but I will keep trying lol

I have been using fluval stratum for almost 2 years maybe longer and its amazing but i have also used the exo terra sub stratum and that one works amazingly as well i havnt tried the fluval bio stratum and cant wait to see results from that one

These are some great tips. I've always wanted an alocasia, but I've been scared to try even though I've got a pretty green thumb and like 30 house plants already. I just picked up a small I think alocasia polly or amazonica from Home Depot yesterday. So excited to see it grow bigger.

I mixed mine in combo peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark. I placed her on a pebble tray filled with water to increase humidity. Good luck to both of us, these plants sure are little divas
