Hi! I don't think the small looks too small or awkward, but if you always want to carry an iPad mini I would go with the medium. I don't think an iPad fits easily into the outside pockets

Hi Andrea, see my reply above! I haven't encountered any major or permanent tugging, but I don't carry much either. I haven't lost anything or felt worried about losing anything, though I cant imagine the open top being too secure against pick-pocketing. However, I will say that the metal closure is pretty strong and the opening isn't big enough for a hand to easily slip through. If you have a larger wallet, it's not going to come out easily (actually slightly annoying sometimes haha). Of course, you can always put stuff in the zipper pockets too. Hope that helps!

The bag is approximately 11" (~12" where it bulges out on the sides) x 8" x 4.5". Nordstrom is accurate!

Any factors you starting to dislike? I've seen reviews stating the hooks on the bag got tugged too much when used as a cross-body, did that occurred to you too?? Christina Goh I've been loving it! I've been carrying it with me almost every day, and I think it has held up really well. Definitely scratch and water resistant. I do see some tugging on the insides but it usually goes back to normal after I put it down for a few hours. But I don't carry much with me (usually just phone, wallet, and keys). If you carry more than that on the regular, the tugging could be a bigger problem. Actually the biggest annoyance for me has been the magnetic closure...I want to reach into my bag and pull things out fast but I have to undo the magnet every time lol. It's really not a problem with the bag; I'm just impatient.

imedarooler Thanks! I've been having second thoughts about this bag because it will be my very first "branded bag" and I wish it can last a pretty loooong time (years) due to the hefty price tag. But I simply love the design!!! So classy yet not too-over-the-top if you dress casually. Do you think adding an umbrella or cardigan is going to cause a huge tugging problem? I've seen on sites that they hook the cross-body strap on the handles instead to minimize the tugging problem O.O no idea how it looks like since there's no pics, but they mention it doesn't look funny, maybe you can try it! Hahah thanks so much btw, for sharing your opinions! Hmm.. I agree! Or maybe you can place the more important things in the zipper closure? But that would means your main compartment is basically empty?? haha!

Christina Goh I tried hooking the strap on the handles today, and it works! My mom didn't notice anything being off when I asked her about it, so I guess it looks normal haha. Thanks for the tip! I hooked it back on the insides, though, since I prefer that look. An umbrella or cardigan should be okay in my humble, non-expert opinion. I checked the stitching of the inside loop where you hook the strap and it seemed quite durable. I have the feeling that the tugging is a bigger problem with the larger size bags since they're heavier and there's more leather to stretch, if that makes any sense at all. However, I've only had the bag for a month so we'll see. I've read that the MK Selma satchel (which has a similar look) is more stiff/durable/heavy so that could be another option! The medium Selma sounds like approximately the same size as the small Sutton. However, I really liked the design of the Sutton, very clean and classy yet somewhat casual like you said :) Glad I could help out!

Michael Kors didn't photos shop anything. Really? Some bags are made exclusively for each store. Some colors and styles are sold at certain stores. It also depends on the year the bag was made. What Zappos sells, Macy's sells, or Nordstrom sells depends on the contract they have with Michael Kors.

Are Michael Kors bags seasonal? I can't fined a sutton small anywhere. I really like this bag but I don't want to get it in a medium. Will this style ever come back?

:( it looks like it was a limited time thing. I can't find it anywhere either. I would contact the Michael Kors company to see if the small size will ever come back.

The Sutton model was discontinued, at least that's what I've been told in the Michael Kors store in Lisbon. I've also been looking everywhere for one in size Small, I really like this model. I finally found one (the last one) in the Overstock website (USA). I hope it's authentic.
