My goal is to share with you part of this journey, that we may find meaning together.

wala ng quality yan kapag nadapuan ng kamay ng Chinese. 10,000Km warranty kasi yan lang tatagal yan
Surprisingly, the reliability and quality were not the reasons why it did not sell well in our market. It was more a lack of marketing and support from the distributor at the time, plus the impression nga na pag chinese hindi maganda. Yung mga nakabili ng VW under this time are actually very happy owners, kasi mura nila nabili at the same quality as the German made ones.

This is the information we need! Education & Facts vs Opinion only 🤔 Good one Vince!
Thanks boss! Was taught well to stick to the facts, had a great mentor for this. 😅
This is great Vin! Just sent this to my senior citizen mom who's scared to register for her vaccine. Hopefully this convinces her to! :)
That is my hope with this initiative, I would really love if it is able to shed light on something that seems to be sensationalized and politicized, when really it's the solution we've been waiting for all this time. Stay safe, send my regards to mom as well!
Hehe.
Nice presentation 👍
Thanks maam! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Nice Vin! Thanks for sharing info. 👍🏻🙌🏻
Thanks Nadine! Glad you appreciated it!
Thank you for this feedback! Let me know what other things you want me to cover next, I'll be happy to make content of it!
Got mine a year and half na.. Valued for money! Just done my PMS few months ago and so far so good.. Getting me at work and home.. Weekend getaway as well
Glad to hear it has been a great experience for you so far! Alot of the viewers and commenters would surely love to hear what other insights you have, good and bad!
Napuwing ako, ok lng maya gawing eye drops ung sauce
Great review bro. Been driving the Santana for more than a year so pasok sa banga mga pointers mo dito. Esp. about this car appeals to certain kinds of people/ taste. 👌
Thank you! I was only able to drive it for an afternoon but it made quite an impression so I wanted to share my thoughts on it, lalo na dahil it gets a bad reputation for being made in China. Hehe. It's a shame kasi its a very well built car tapos kuro kuro lang yung pipigil sa tao na subukan siya. How has your experience with it been so far? Happy with the car? Share your thoughts para sa ibang viewers! :)
Driving the MT variant. -deep clutch but the driver will eventually get used to it. Same goes for reversing, gotta press down the stick before shifting R -great handling & steering (though this depends on the driver). Test drive muna. -one time bigtime gastos sa annual maintenance. -di naman obvious made in CHN lalo na sa quality/ feels
Wow this is great, detailed feedback. Just what other viewers would need especially when getting their first impressions. That reverse pattern is quite tricky and uncommon in local (PH market) cars. It does require getting used to! I agree with the steering and handling, not too stiff, not too soft, just right especially if the use will be for every day traffic. The maintenance schedule is make or break here, kasi sa atin importante yung cost vs. value debate. Iba parin pag mura talaga, though over time sa tingin ko malaki savings nito. This is my favorite part about this car, build quality, material feel, choice of trim, sobrang above standard talaga. It does separate itself from the competition in this regard.
Volkswagen Lavida next please!
Thanks, Robin! Will try to schedule that next, hopefully at a dealership na this time para may test drive. Thanks again and please subscribe for more!
Which country
This is in the Philippines!
Hello! Ano po ba usual mileage ng brand new car? 100km yun nakuha namin na unit 😑
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response. This is a very good question. Depending on the manufacturer's quality control and testing process, this number varies quite greatly. It is usually tested before delivery, both at the plant where it is manufactured, and then again when it is brought here. There is also the added factor of delivery, some are not equipped with carriers, to they have to be driven from Batangas to the dealership. The reason some brands are able to deliver vehicles at very low (50km or less) is because the mileage counter is disconnected prior to delivery. Kaya lang sa more modern vehicles, hindi to option kasi may mga functions na nawawala pag nakatanggal ang mileage. Hope this answers your question!
very well discussed! please consider discussing MG Motors din sir :)
Sure Ri! Is there a particular model you want to see first? :) Unahin ko request mo!
MG 5 sedan will be awesome start
I’ll get my Santana next week and this video made me realized that I made the right choice. 💪🏼
Jerson Peter glad you enjoyed the video, even more so that it was of some help!
Thanks for info
G. True thanks for watching as well! Feel free to suggest future models as well!
Just to add, VW and SAIC has been working together for more than 3 decades and has been the top car brand of choice in China - one of the most competitive markets in the world. Also, every vehicle made by SAIC-VW has gone through VW standard process so quality is not compromised. Fun fact : Vios sales in china is around 50k in 2019 whereas Santana has 250k. It has been the best selling entry level sedan in china for decades. :)
This is a very good insight. The local market is quite stubborn about brand-consciousness, thus making it difficult for manufacturers to introduce new models, technology, and other products to the market. Also, note how large the market of China is. Kaya very diverse yung lineup talaga.
Great video!
Thank you! What did you enjoy in particular? :) Will work on some new ones soon, too!
Pretty much covering all the details of someone who would want purchase a Volkswagen Santana and giving some personal opinions. Again, nice review!
Cholo Vallado thanks for the input! Will work to follow a similar format for future videos! Share it with someone you know may be interested as well and stay tuned for future videos. :) Keep safe and have a blessed day!
Got my Santana now sir!
NICE! Kamusta? How are you liking it so far? Did it meet your expectations? Let us know!
nice review po sir... i'm a minimalist kind of guy...it really caught my attention and my taste. i really love how the car looks like, its aesthetic design so simple unlike sa bagong design ng mga toyota vios parang alien out of nowhere..hhahhaha.. looking forward to afford and buy this santana... more power and GOD BLESS po..
Thank you, John Philip! Much appreciated. I share the same views, I like simple design. Most modern aesthetics are quite alien and robotic for me. Hehe. My personal preference is for the bigger brother, the Lavida, actually. Siguro yun gagawa ako ng may test drive. Hehe. God bless you too!
Wow great review! Sobrang underrated ng Channel nato. Very informative ka mag salita.
Hehe. Will work to make regular material on a variety of topics, open to suggestions too! God bless you!
MADE IN CHINAAAAA
And so will the Audi's for Philippines market www.carguide.ph/2020/07/saic-volkswagen-to-produce-audi-at.html
Mentioned this mid-way through the video, and detailed it's pros and cons. And while I do agree that sustaining their economy is something we should find alternatives for, until then, it's hard to deny the fact that most others things are pretty much made in China, one way or another.
@@vincentmarquez195 They are cynic & sarcastic about the VW Santana because of the production line being in China, but at the same time they forget their beloved premium brands produce there too. By now, Geely is basically Volvo too. The Santana really seems to be a decent lower budget deal. Perhaps VW Asia should aim to style their region specific models like the European Skoda's because that sub-brand of the VW Audi Group is still trending pretty well in Europe with sharp looking designs while still being based on the VW chassis platforms.
Knot3D _ That is true. My iPhone, much as I love these Apple products, are made in China. So it's quite hard to escape. Globalization has made cheap labor costs, improved profit margins possible at the expense of local economies. I share the sentiment about Chinese "superpowers", but we can't discount the fact that we are able to enjoy these products at affordable pricing because of these complex arrangements. That said, it's important to note that these are made under strict license agreements -- no shortcuts or corner cutting -- Apple, Audi, Volvo, all with production lines in the mainland. They wouldn't compromise their brand equity to save a little here and there. They would take every possible precaution to ensure they don't get shamed.
wala nmn problema kung made in china, assembled in china with German parts.
Walang sound??
Mukhang na copyright na yung sound track after 4 years posted :( will try to reupload with different music.
Dutch foreigner in Manila here. Good informative video! It is really interesting for me to see VW's efforts in the Philippines . I see VW PH promo now has the Santana MT at 620.000 php with the 90 HP engine. VW Netherlands doesn't even have the Trendline Polo 65 HP for sale anymore. It was 16.900 Euro, which is about 968.000 PHP . So now the most basic Dutch Polo is the Comfortline with 75 HP at 20.525 Euro, which is about 1.180.000 PHP. When I came to the Philippines in December 2018, my wife and I had to choose between VW Santana GTS wagon and Honda Jazz RS; despite the fact my family in the Netherlands have a long history of driving cars from the Volkswagen group: VW, Audi and Seat (basically the Spanish Volkswagens), we eventually chose the Jazz RS....BUT I would still recommend the VW Santana to you guys here as well. Here's some photo's of me with my parents' VW Golf Sportsvan in the Netherlands (basically a sort of MPV version on the Golf platform) and then there's me with my first ever Honda Jazz here in Makati: i.imgur.com/ds8MgAs.jpg i.imgur.com/CIb17zL.jpg
Knot3D _ Agree on all points. I find that their take on build quality and safety are very different from what we are used to here in Manila. Very interesting indeed is the effort to address the entry level market, a segment dominated by the Thai-manufactured cars, with good value proposition in itself. Personally, I'm more inclined towards the Lavida (will likely cover this in a future video) as the size and ride quality does make a difference. Having been used to old Benzes, finding features from old luxury cars on modern econoboxes are quite a treat. Seats are awesome! Never seen one in the flesh, but I suppose if you've seen a Golf... Haha. Glad you enjoyed the video, by the way. Stay tuned for more!
@@vincentmarquez195 Here's a comparison picture of the Seat Leon I had in the Netherlands versus my current Jazz; i.imgur.com/ONqI7vX.jpg You can think of Seat as a slightly cheaper but more sporty sibling brand of Volkswagen. The Seat Leon I drove, was basically a sporty Spanish Golf; together in the C-class segment with the VW Golf, Audi A3, Mazda 3 and Ford Focus. Anyway, the Santana is interesting because you get a 50L fuel tank with good gas economy, and as you said, the excellent build quality. I am satisfied with my Jazz RS but I will have to schedule it for Honda's official preventative fuel pump recall in July - yeah...I guess that would not have happened if I would have chosen the Santana lol. Funny that you mention those old Mercedes Benz's ; youngtimers such as the Benz190 and Audi 80 are quite popular in NL now.

Thanks
Floren Tino good evening! This was from a few years ago, so my memory may not be so accurate. But for the Cagayan De Oro leg, we got a maximum of 56km/L.
Its a shame that Hyundai discontinued the CRDi Hatchback in the Philippines
Madison Villavert I agree. It was a very well-designed car. Very appropriate for the typical Filipino family.
What’s that intro music called? What band?
Lovely! for over heat issue! th-cam.com/video/i7NWoisRvZo/w-d-xo.html
