I live in Northamptonshire borders, all three are less than 20 miles away, i own boots from Trickers, Henry x 3 pairs, and Stow, Crockett and Jones Coniston rough out suede, my personal favourites, and Grenson Fred boots, all bought from their factory shops, if in the area well worth a visit for a bargain, occasionally upto 60 % off recommended retail price. Top quality, all are the best a man can get in this price range.

I have the Bourtons in Carolina Brown Horween leather. Great shoes, built like a tank. I have Crockett & Jones Hurricane Hide brogues with Ridgeway soles. These are my go-to for refined brogues in non-business attire. But the brogues I wear the most are my Cheaney Avon R’s in Dark Leaf. Beautiful color that goes great with dark jeans and very comfortable. I love all three shoes. I’m not sure I could pick one as “the best”….they’re all fantastic.

You can cut off the loose threads with snips. No need to burn them. The stitching you were asking about is really about the kind of seam. It is called a flat felled seam, which consists of each raw edge of fabric folded over the other and sewn into the seam with two parallel rows of straight stitches. Its a strong connection that does not require piping or serging. Sewing nerd out.

Awesome, these are the type of videos I like! Two of my favorite brands, and nice to see Grenson included. The Church's Grafton also would've been nice but dropped slightly out of the picture with their ridiculous price hike, but still a great shoe.

Your video is sacrilegious. Saphir products are unparalleled. If you spend a lot of $ on shoes/boots, there is no better shoe care product that will product your investment and extend their life. If you're a beginner spend time on Kirby Allison's channel. He will teach you how to use Saphir products properly.

You gotta love the overlander, I’ve got several pairs of black wax flesh boots and the patina is amazing, I have conditioned them with the grease that comes with them and seems to work fine .

My Red Wing flat laces also broke , maybe because it is made of cotton. I switched to nylon flat laces instead. Often taslan laces for work & adventure. Boot should fit snug without slop & heel slip , preventing blister. Red Wing heel counter is not as conforming , that's why it can cause blister to some people , especially during break-in.

Im a noob, what concerns me most is the oil pooling on top of the Nappa. Would this not change the color of your leather when applied? You should include this as a disclaimer to keep any possible damage from happening to your viewers shoes. *Also why are you using conditioners as polish?

I still would like a new pair of Nick's... that's the only PNW brand I have where i didn't buy a new model.. i just have some Packers from them, that are dated 08,, i think some Urban Loggers in brown waxed or something unique like W&C Double Stuff would be great.. i also want the honey soles!! thanks for the video : )

Huberd’s shoe grease on brown or black waxed flesh works well, any clear or bees wax based balm on coloured waxed flesh such as navy or olive has worked for me. Best to apply before the nap is fully exposed, after2-3 months wear if you’re concerned with maintaining water resistance. They will still patina and fade and break in.

just a correction! on 5:54, you said the shoes were handwelted. I believe that Nick's boots are actually a stitchdown construction, and there is no welt.

Been wearing my blacksmiths with the original waxed laces for about three years now about 2-3 days a week. They are my faves. Looking at a pair of Beckman in black cherry real soon. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I have a pair of Tacticals on the HNW last, smooth black with the composite toe. Other than the eight month wait, they're great. I was thinking about either Falcons or Americana with a cap toe (for a better version of an Redwing Iron Rangers) but ugh, that lead time (as well as the cost). That dogger heel is really sharp, too bad they don't offer that on their chelseas. I wouldn't cut the tongue; fold them over as they show you on the video and use the kilties.

Cypress is definitely a more casual leather with more character than CXL which is slightly corrected grain. Good luck with the Thunderdome

Looks great, if I could get my sizing right I’d get a pair just like that! Once you get used to the comfort of wider toes the look becomes better too because you begin to associate it with comfort vs tight uncomfortable toes. And these are pretty sleek for an anatomical shape. Also don’t cut the tongue!! Lol

I really don't like how Nicks can't manage to make the tongues out of the same leather as the rest of the upper. All they'd have to do is buy a splitter. And please don't cut the tongues haha

This is all wrong. You need to watch Kirby Allison or the Chaps Guide or a dozen other shows that know what their talking about when it comes to Saphir shoe products.

The thing that i like about the gro cord outsoles is aside from looking good they are more durable than roccia outsoles. I have a 2014 beckman and a 2018 sheldon that had their roccia outsoles disintegrate, while my 2016 girards with gro cord are still going strong. Will be going to Tokyo in 3 weeks so i am hoping that they have my size in the beckman 9060s. BTW did you get the same size in beckman 9060 as your iron ranger 8083s?

Great unboxing and review. I love the way this bag looks, and it seems to have solid utility. The one thing I question is the fussy main comparent closures, although that's offset somewhat by the brilliant zippered pocket. As you mentioned, that pocket makes it well suited to holding secure documents such as a passport, etc.

I've been appreciating the technology today's sneakers come with. Been wearing rigged "kudusoles" and forgot gow soft shoe soles can get. It's good to give your feet a break, but I always go back to my leather soles!

Great video, thank you! Fwiw, I have a pair of Viberg 2030s in Horween’s Saddletan Chromepak. They have tons of loose grain 8:57, which really surprised me. I have abused those boots, like no other pair I've every owned, so maybe that's just "par for the course". That said, I couldn't love those boots more! Cheers
