NCC is at it again, finding this very rare 1967 Shelby GT500. Being a half year only color, Acapulco Blue is rare in itself but when you add AC it stand in a class alone. Only 126 GT500s received AC in 1967 making this an extremely desirable Shelby. Sitting in a barn since the early 1980s, it will be great to see this one driving down the road again soon!

Again My Dad's 1967 GT500 was dark blue Met. , Black Interior , Auto , Magnum 500 Wheels 15x7 I think ,Stripe Delete , early inboard High Beams and Bought at Drew Ford in La Mesa Ca. Fall of 1968. Sold it to a guy in Los Angeles Ca. 1976. Maybe You have come this GT500 in Your Mustang world ?
What do You know about the C6 Auto ? - I assume it is the original transmission. My Dad Bought a 1967 GT500 Auto in 1968( We lived in San Diego Ca.). I was upset it did not have a 4 Speed until I drove. It was not a stock C6 but a beefed up C6 by an outside source in Detroit for Ford for their HiPo 427 that you could special order in the 66/67 Ford Drag Fairlane. I think it was probably the first high performance automatic. In one source I found that about 58 of those special C6's were put in the 1967 GT500. The shift points were around 5500rpm so from a dead stop You floor it auto and burn a little rubber go up 42/43 it burns a few feet of rubber and goes up to around 85 and "Chirps" the tires and just keeps climbing. Also my Dad had a connection with a Speed Specialist that his expertise was Duel Carbs - not too many guys could tune them together. He was well know throughout Southern California. The 67 GT500 got a bad rep over the 68 GT500 because most 1967 were not properly tuned for max power. Back then !968 to 1975 I know of 2 1967 GT500 that had the C6 auto taken out for a 4 Speed. So I think You have a Very Rare 1967 GT500.
Just an original C6 R Servo here. Rebuilt to stock specs and ready to cruise. Sounds like a hell of a car your father had. Very cool! You are correct some 2x4 cars especially Shelbys can be a pain to get dialed in, this one wasn’t bad at all and is running great today!
Now that's Beautiful
Thank you!
I still have my father's original numbers matching 67 Shelby GT 500. Rust free, never wrecked, California car. He bought it in 1985-86 when in was in high school. Dad passed away in 2002. Thanks dad, RIP.
Sorry about your loss. Sounds like one hell of a car!
Normally Mustangs don’t raise my eyebrow but this…. Wow.
Thanks!
She looks fantastic!
Thank you!
love how the vast majority of cars on your channel are 4 speeds! nothing worse than an automatic muscle car
From one Nate to another, I appreciate it! 4 speeds make it fun!
That's insane!!!...Nice job brother...I'm restoring a matching numbers 1969 GTO Judge right now .400ci,Muncie Rockcrusher four speed,10 bolt posi rear.. Hugger Orange with a white and black interior!!.Built at the Baltimore plant where my mother's father worked from 1953 to 1982.....so he surely helped build this car?....!!!😮
Thank you! Good luck with your restoration, super cool car and even better story with your grandpa working there. Doesn't get much better than that!
great car except that's its fugly, god almighty that's worst looking muscle car of all time
Not everyone’s favorite but they are becoming a lot more popular here recently.
No PS but has rim-blow wheel = unintended horn honking as you fight the rudder.
Haha you are correct. Happens too often!
@@natesclassiccars1 I had a new 70 Cougar 351C with rim-blow. Even with PS, I had some unwanted honks, usually during hard maneuvers.
great car nate
Thanks Harry!
That is a very pretty Boss 9...I always thought if I bought one it would have to be grabber blue, but man that candy apple looks gorgeous with a black interior...kinda reminds me of my 2018 Guards Red Porsche GT2 RS
Wow, what a car...is the compression ratio the same in the '71 as the '69 and '70 SCJ? One minor point, the Ford 9 inch rear end did not come with the ratio of 4.11:1, it came with a 4.10:1.
4.10 was Chevy. All my Ford tests and original Muscleparts Supplements say it's 4.11 with SCJ.
Is it for sale and how much.
Thank you for your interest. Not currently for sale.
Beautiful
Thank you!
It revs so high, 10cm per stroke with this kinda piston diameter is no joke.
God mothafuckin damn
I am a Camero gal, but I have to admit, that is a SEXY car!! ❤
My Dad owned that car until 1972.
Would love to get any info from you if possible!
My understanding is that the inner lights were the preferred design. However some states had legislation requiring lights to be a greater distance apart.
You are correct!
Nice cars 😍🤩
Thank you!
Early, late, middle?? I wouldn’t have a problem with owning a ‘67 Shelby Mustang. Or, ANY ‘67 Mustang, for that matter!!👍😉😄😄
haha I agree!
Well thanks for this, I was trying to figure out why my memory was confused enough to think two cars from the day were actually different years even though I distinctly remember them as 67s. ;<)
Not a problem. Hope it helped a bit.
This is a mechanical demonstration of both beauty and anger. . I wanty real baaad!
I see a lot of asks on the price. I'd bet, given what Dennis Collins pays, vs these guys.....one of these two made the deal.......Collins pays over $5k just as a referral fee....and $50k in some cases, for a closed deal. Knowing that......this car was bought for over $70k. Proper restoration, even with all the parts present, is over $100k. Shelby's a far beyond the average enthusiast now.
I do pay finders fees! Happy to do so on any deals I make with leads given to me.
Thank you!
Both are absolutely gorgeous cars. I enjoy the videos
Want to trade for my 87 GN, 55k miles, all original?
Appreciate the offer. I sold this one about year or so back on BaT.
Incredible
Thank you!
I would say that Jim Morrison's 67 GT 500 is worth a lot more. lol
I agree, If ever found it probably would be. Key word IF.
@@natesclassiccars1 I always wonder if it was crushed or parted out, or hiding in someone's garage. BTW, what was the ball park price you paid for your car? Thanks
No one knows, rumors say it was junked….hopefully one day it will show up. On the price, some were between 1,000 and 1,000,000. Haha I tend not to share that information.
@@natesclassiccars1 He probably drove it into a river somewhere blitzed out of his mind on something :<(
a small tidbit about the Boss 9's that most people don't know unless they were around in the days when Ford was selling them...the '69's all came with body painted hood scoops, but due to the big Boss 9 engine developing so much under hood heat they had so many warranty claims for the paint crinkling on the scoops that they went to a high temperature black paint for the '70's.
Nice lookin’ car! Asking price?
Mark, thank you for reaching out. Asking price was 215,000. 3139 just sold. If you are in the market for a '67 Shelby give shoot me an email at nate@natesclassiccars.com and I can keep my eye out for you.
Awfully spotless🤔 Was it just put in there for content?
This isn’t American Pickers…don’t have the time or money for that. The gentleman who sold the car had it cleaned and the tires aired up prior to me getting there.
@@natesclassiccars1 Plus that appears to be the cover on the floor so I assume it was covered with a nice cotton cloth cover. beautiful Boss 9. Is it for sale as of this date?
@@stevefowler2112correct it was covered. Not for sale currently.
Holy shit, what a find 🤯
The car of cars. I’m waiting for my kids to get me one for Christmas but I’m not sure they like me that much 😊 the two oldest I think know it by heart due to the…. Dad what’s your dream car…. question they ask. Down to the paint color.
A yellow 67 sedan in Pennsylvania Northampton low miles dropped a sodium valve destroying the block car was mint in the late eighties last time I was east
With a glass sheet on top, would make a nice coffee table in the TV room in my man cave..
If you were to part it out, a lot more money than as a whole ! Change out that chain before you even start it up !
I agree Cammer parts are very expensive today but this one is a bit different. NOS and never ran...it sold for $140,000.00 last year on Bring a Trailer.
Very cool! Probably the only one like it. Better replace all of those sodium filled exhaust valves if you decide to run it.
Nice find 👍🏻
Thanks!
How much?
Thanks for reaching out. It actually sold just two days after posting this video.
That's awesome, what a great score.
Thank you!
Leave her dull with patina gi ve this one love damn nice GT 500..
That is the plan currently!!!
OK, we are waiting......how much did you give for it ??
Doesn’t specify on the Marti exacting how many were 4spd with AC but I would venture to guess under 100. Plan as of now is to leave it patina’ed and have a little fun with a restoration coming in the future.
How many of these came with AC? I know almost no GT500’s came with AC. Would you paint this car back to it’s original blue?
Well, it's an interesting man-cave piece anyway.
I’m curious about the hood pins, looks like they are set back. Are the hood pin location brackets missing?
Could be the video and the below average camera guy haha....The hood pins and brackets are original and haven't been moved.
I remember my father telling me that he had a car with a Holman Moody 427 back in the 60's. I would love to have that engine in my '66 Mustang.
Would be awesome to see in a Mustang! Currently it is in a Museum in CA.
