Boss DS-1 Comparison SS VS Tube
มุมมอง 24512 ปีที่แล้ว
Using my highly modified Boss DS-1, I test to see which amp the DS-1 sounds better on. The Ibanez ACA10 is highly modified and is not stock. The Valveking is a full tube amp with very minor mods to it. Guitar is a Ibanez RG7321 stock in Drop A.
What does a Vaveking sound like pushed?
มุมมอง 38112 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a hard rock sounding song that I did pushing my valvekings volume to 10, with no boost to tighten it up, so it'll sound a little loose. Recorded line out of my Aracom DAG-150 attenuator. Amp is a Valveking 112 relatively unmodded, no boost. Guitar is a Ibanez RG7321 STOCK. Tuning is Drop A for a 7 string guitar.

This song is done using my new Ibanez RG7321 7 string guitar. It's just a demo, and I recorded this in about an hour, so give me a break. It's supposed to be a kinda happy/sad, abstract alternative heavy rock song of some kind. Amp is a Valveking 112, guitar is Ibanez RG7321 with stock pickups, dirt is my hand built LiquidDrive tightened up with a TS9.
Fuzz Central's Liquid Drive build(high quality)
มุมมอง 3.1K13 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my first successful pedal build, using the schematics from Fuzz Central, I built this pedal, and recorded this using a Squier loaded with a Bareknucke Painkiller, through my Valveking, boosting the Liquid Drive with a Ibanez TS9. Setting in the first picture is the settings I used. The first pot(gain pot) on the Liquid Drive is a reverse taper, so the gain is backwards, was a ordering m...
Late Night Struggle Acoustic Solo
มุมมอง 4413 ปีที่แล้ว
Got bored one night a long time ago, so I picked up my Takamine, plugged it into the computer, and came up with this simple song.
Thrash Metal Screwing Around Fun Improv
มุมมอง 15913 ปีที่แล้ว
I did this a while ago, back when I had my EMG's in my Squier. Just a simple single track, random riffiage though my valveking a very repetitive, but nice sounding drum loop that I made. I do make use of my wammy bar, back when it would actually hold the tuning after dive bombing it.
LexTac Distorted bass riffage No interface
มุมมอง 8713 ปีที่แล้ว
Did this using no interface, so it's a bit harsh, but still pretty cool, kinda a raspy sound.
My Personal mod for the Boss DS-1(high quality)
มุมมอง 71413 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a short clip of my Boss DS-1 that I have modded to my tastes. It incorporates a few different mods, and ideas that people have passed around. I particularly like it, it has a very nice middy growling punch to it, and has alot of usable gain, can go from blues rock to metal with the aid of a boost. Amp is a Trace Elliot RAH350SMX 700 watt hybrid/SS bass amp into a B-52 4x12 miced up with...
Yamaha GA-10 Build/Slow Disaster(high quality)
มุมมอง 6K13 ปีที่แล้ว
I just did a ton of mods to my Yamaha GA-10 for the fun of it, and it turned out way better than expected. I get get a perfect tubey sounding overdrive by pushing the clean channel into distortion, it's rather cool. I did this song exclusively by pushing the clean channel. Pickups are BKP Trilogy Suites.
Trace Elliot RAH350SMX and a B-52 cab(high quality)
มุมมอง 2.3K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Used my Trace Elliot RAH350SMX 700 watt hybrid/SS bass amp and a B-52 4x12 cab. Distortion is a Keeley modded All Seeing Eye Boss DS-1 and a Ibanez TS9 as a boost. Guitar is a 2006 Squier Affinity Strat with a Bareknuckle Painkiller in the bridge, and Barekunckle Trilogy Suites in the middle and neck. Mic is a SM-58
Nick Crow 8505 No Interface
มุมมอง 3.2K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Wrote and recorded this song with my friend Jacob, we never got around to finishing the song completely, but this is what we had. It's just me going mic in on my sound card, no interface, preamp, nothing. Pickup is a Bareknuckle Painkiller.

Just wipped this up real quick to show what's involved in my mixes, breaks it down to individual parts. Song is my new Demo "Nail Driver".
Bareknuckle Trilogy Suite Metal (Nail Driver demo)
มุมมอง 3K13 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a demo version of a song I'm working on right now. I thought I'd play some heavies with the single coils while my Valveking was still working. Sorry for no vid of me play, I was too lazy to make one, I'll make one once I complete the song though. Guitar, 2006 Squier Affinity Strat with Bareknuckle Painkiller and BKP Trilogy Suites Amp, Valveking 112 Custom with a WGS V-30 speaker miced ...
We Deal In Lead(High Quality)
มุมมอง 54313 ปีที่แล้ว
First off, drum track is not mine, it's a version of one of the jam bands Phish's songs, for free download at www.drumsforyou.com a while back, I just use it to lay cool ideas down. I just recently resurrected my Valveking, so I recorded this while it is still alive. Gutiar, 2006 Squier Affinity Strat, with Bareknuckle Painkiller in the bridge, and Bareknuckle Trilogy Suites in the neck and mid...

Since you have such good tone, i wanted to ask... do you think a ts mini would get me in a similar ballpark? Or is the ts9 the way to go for that sound?
Amazing! What amp sim are you going through? I read you are using IRs but what model of amp and speaker?
Sounds killer!
Not bad ! I need to try Lextac with bass !
I dig it
I'd like to know the descriptions of the capacitors . tanks
I would like to know how you made the improvement of the Yamaha ga 10 by putting new components. Would it be better to specify the component references. Tank you.
The tone at 1m17sec <3
hi, do you have a copy or link of the schematic? may I have a copy? thanks a lot
how about just a plain acoustic guitar?
Useless
Exactly what I've been searching for, thanks
I absolutely love the EMG 81, the clean tones on the neck pickup especially.
Hi Alexander Mueller. Are FOR CLEAN SOUNDS better 81 than 85?
@@big6649 85 has a lot more output. For that reason, I think it makes a better bridge pickup. When used in the neck, its very bassy. 81 is a good all rounder despite many saying its too shrill or only good for metal. They both make a killer, and noise free tone.
Hang on a minute! came here for the trace....! what did i get someone noodling around with a drum machine. and a still picture of said amp!! over come with disappointment i went somewhere else for a trace fix.
Can't deny though that his bass sits tight in the mix :D
Very Great. Thank you and God bless you.
ss sounded good
whoo ruin the amp image!!!!
No bridge what's going on 🌧
Hey Ethan. Great vid. I've had this same amp for probably 8 years now and believe it or not, I actually used it in its combo form playing live at church. Our worship band was moderate volume and we had a good PA system. I micd the aml with an SM58, set it clean and used my Line 6 M13 in front of it. It actually sounded great. I removed the chassis and made a head out of it tonight. I'd really like to understand circuits to see how much wattage I can get from this thing. I'd also just bypass the drive channel. Great video and playing.
it's great! needed a solo or lead somewhere to spice things up a lil.
i put reverse taper on my first pedal too...
So does an attenuator really work with the valveking ? Does it push-pull the tubes to breakup ?
lachimere1 Yeah, to a degree, sounds better in person rather than how the recording turned out, but the muddiness was still there. Gain channel sounds better pushed, but not pushed as hard as I had it which was almost at full volume.
ceramic or alnico ?
GeetardudexD At the time the Painkiller only came as ceramic.
GeetardudexD isn`t there only a ceramic version?
Would Painkiller tone survive in a HSS Strat w/ pots 250-280k value? Or would it sound like a wet towel was covering it up?
It'll survive, but if your volume pot is the 250k value it'll box it in and kill the high end, I prefer a 1 meg for the volume pot, opens everything up especially the Painkiller.
Yeah I just ordered BK Painkiller, they cost more but man what a sound, and there Passive too!
Sweet!
how much did it cost to mod the amp? and how many watts is it now?
would you send me a list of parts that you used?so i could get the same stuff, i have the same amp and would realy like to build an amp but maybe modding this would be a good start, could do the same mod you did, if i was to mod it like you would i still be able to use the normal speaker? hope you dont mind me asking, if i was to change the little amp chip, would anything else on the board need to be changed for it to work? thanks man hope you dont mind peace
EthanHanus nice one ill check it out! very interesting, thank you!
Thank you! I've bought Valveking 112 two weeks ago and I also have Pavilion laptop=))
Just my POS HP Pavilion computer, and a 1/4th to 1/8th adapter. As for damaging sound cards, that I don't know, but it never did damaged my Asus G71 laptop for my older recording, and it hasent' damaged my HP yet, although the motherboard crapped out on me once already.
Use a noise gate. ISP decimater II is one of the better one's for uber tight mutes, it'll also keep any unwanted bleed through at high gain settings.
Yep, sold me a pair also... By the looks of things, you should contract bareknuckle about all the sales your making them! Cheers boss!
What gear did you use to record the amp's sound through mic in? I've heared the direct connection can damage the soundcard.
yeah i hear thats the best idea, just having trouble getting the good tones. also when i go to distortion setting theres always noise after i stop a note (like no playing). any tips?
I don't, I go direct input into an adapter into my mic in on my computer and use impulses and cab sims. No interface.
hey man how do you mic your guitars?
hahaha that's funny man!!! keep it up!
eargasm
Because sometimes the p'ups can make a cheap guitar sound like a million :D I've got some MMs in an Ibanez... the guitar was, what £300? It sounds like I payed A LOT more for it. I dunno, a Squier might be a bit too far, but hell, he can always put the p'ups into a new guitar when he gets one, hey?
Sad it got that bad, though not expensive, nice qaulity guitars and look badass
...So was it loud?
Great demo. I am on TH-cam looking for vids to showcase the stuff we sell at our store (Motor City Guitar, Waterford, MI...) Going to use this for the Painkiller demo. :-) Web site should be up in a month or two. Jam
hi man, i`ve been lookinrg for information to repair my ga-10, do you have some schematics or something can help me? It seems you did a great work with your ga-10. thanks in advance
HEY BUD! great tone test i'm thinking of buying a Gibson SG standard (i like the old style vintage guitar look etc) but for my band its kinda heavy music and i was thinking about getting these pickups not only do they sound great but they look great! one question though will it REALLY matter if i only tune to E flat / C sharp (which would be drop D in standard?) only because the likes of Periphery are in Drop A and they have those pick ups for that type of tuning to keep it all tight sounding.:D
real nice sound bro....what size valveking are you playing on.....i have a V.K 112 with an eminence man -o- war....how would these sound in my LP. styled guitar????
Im trying to decide between either Trilogy Suites or Mothers Milk. I love the strat tone on these, more mids for making chord sound bigger and ballsy while the cleans can sound very Opeth like but I still love that classic 60-70s and gilmour soaring high lead tone which I hear more from Mothers so far. What kinda setting do you have dialed in for this or usually?
pig ... gay
porc,rsrsr
By the way, you can clearly hear the difference in the notes.
Drop C doesn't make a player bad or a song easy to play. I'm sure I could easily find a Drop C song too hard for you to play.
Hey dude, I have a Trace Elliot and it's one of if not the best bass amps i've ever heard. Can I ask which set of outs you used to go into your computer? How did you connect it to record. And just keep playing, People like AlexBallsSack never amount to much.
