I had a Skinner 13” Scout rail mounted on my Ruger American Ranch rifle. It comes with the Skinner rear peep sight w/removable aperture, and a front M16-A2 sight post that is adjustable for elevation. I then mounted a Vortex Scout scope on it. Love that rifle! I carry 3-20rd Dura-Mag’s with it when riding around the property on my quad.

Acraglas from Brownells and a 1 gal ziplock bag. Mix the gel and transfer to the ziplock. Cut a small piece of a corner of the bag and pipe the black Acraglas into the cavities of the inside of the stock. Let dry and harden. Do not overfill the cavities! This solution applies to the cheap stock flex inherent with a cheap bolt rifle. Cheers.

Fl native here as well. Running 16 inch sons upper. Same lower, b5 and bcm furniture, 1k lumen streamlight, vickers sling. Stuck with a 510c from holo for now but probably gonna go lpvo soon. It does the job.

I prefer the 300BLK, but I handload. I have the old 5.56 ranch with the rotary mag and was quite happy with it. (Key word "was") I was pissed when the AR mag version came out. Now I gotta get me one, but do I upgrade my 5.56 or do I get the 300BLK version?

Nice build sir. I also have a 14.5 and I love it. I can easily do CQB and vehicle combat with it. I have a BA Hanson performance barrel that's lightweight so its not a chore to carry around. So thanks for sharing and keep the videos coming

If SHTF, you’re going to want something a lot more versatile than a bolt gun.

Living in a country where bolt actions are king(an Australia). Semi autos are as rare as hens teeth. This rifle should be goo for anything I need it to do,cause most gun owners are going to have to bolt actions.we are allowed to have centrefire Remington pump actions.they are popular but bloody expensive, anywhere from aud$ 2,00 to aud4,000 depending on how they are set up. Sadly Remington no longer makes them we are restricted to 10 round mags but for hunting 10 should be enough, welcome to the communist state of Australia.

Bolt actions are very underrated now days. Nice rifle. Also pretty sure if you have 10 round mags this is legal in all 50 states if you travel a lot

How well did the bipod fit on

my build is something very similar but with .308 and if you have a silencer and subsonic .308 is quieter than a pellet gun

Any idea of torque specs for the bedding or pic rail?

I own this rifle for home defense, a 55grain 556 FMJ is the round you want cheap and effective. The 16 inch barrel is quick, inside ones home the target is feet away not yards. A round traveling 3000fps+ out of the barrel will eliminate the threat but not over penetrate like a green tip, which is a steel tipped bullet designed to penetrate hard targets, your intruder doesn't fall under that description. You do not want a round that will literally poke a hole in a soft target, it will not feel good and if a major organ is in it's way then it's lethal. But that round is still lethal after it passes through the intruder.

For shit hit the fan, a bolt is the most reliable besides a single shot. 100 to 300 yards is plenty, most people couldnt see that far anyway, and stick to NATO ammo, easier to find, 55 grain to 77 grain will drop any bad guy at 100 yards. Dont complicate firearms.

This would be the thing to have if your doomsday scenario played out. There'll be 5.56 ammo and M16 clips all over the place and seriously, if you get in a situation where semi-auto fire makes a difference, you're going to die anyway.

Fill the stock with foam to stop that hollow, scratchy sound.

Why does everyone dry fire their firearms?? The ruger american and alot ofnother bolt action rifles have a soft decocking method to avoid dry firing. Use it.

As a fellow left handed shooter, you really need to try a left handed upper. That right handed ejection is doing you no favors

I have couple ruger bolt action in 556, 762x39 for a back up guns or worst case scenario guns for others to shoot. I also have new henry lever action in 556 that takes ar mags because I live in the marxist colorado republic of California. Where many guns are to become illegal very soon.

Florida man here, working on my GPR. Running a Rosco 13.7, 223 Wylde upper. Waiting for my Griffin Armament lower to arrive at my FFL. It's going to take a while to complete (Waiting on the Zbolt ACAL to be released in Q4 this year) waiting on my tax return for an Acog/rmr combo. Looking at doing a multicam tropic paint job too.

Armalite rifles are on sale for 1299 on PSA site this year for a 308. The 5.56 rifles cost much less on sale...around 650 for an amazing rifle.
