This is an old video but could it of been the pre machine iv heard they make babies more unsettled ans sick In other words get rid and make up with kettle
MAM bottles are a scam someone please explain to me how are the little holes supposed to vent air if they are sealed?
When you feed you the rubber cover falls from gravity - even a very tiny drop gives space for air to travel.
My baby not pass stool for 5 days what should i do she is on breast milk
Doesn’t the Mam teats fit on the Dr brown bottles?
No I tried to do that. Would have been a perfect mix because my baby loves the mam teats
I used tommee tippee for my first and she didn’t get on with them at all. I also used the dr browns and she got on with those perfectly. My issue was the perfect prep machine I was using. The second I stopped using that and started using boiled kettle water? Everything changed. She started easing with spitting up
This is a great review. Thank you for sharing:)
Thank you for your review ❤
Not impressed with mam bottles due to them failing on make up. One burst upon making up causing excessive burns to my Grandchild and an emergency trip to London. MAM acknowledged the complaint, then totally ignored my Daughters emails, it has now been passed to Her solicitors. DO NOT BUY THESE SUBSTANDARD FAULT BOTTLES unless u want a burnt baby and get ignored by MAM in the hope you will go away. NOT THIS FAMILY!!
My baby stops at every ounce to be burped how do yiu know when you go from 2 ounces to 1?
Anyone know if you can use the mam bottles with the tommee tippee sterilizer ?
Yeah you can I did
I love MAM bottles, dr browns cleaning is a pain...
How do u prevent the leaks
Can someone please tell me the height of Dr. Brown's bottle a.) from the bottom of the bottle, to the tipp of the nipple b.) form the bottom of the bottle (containter), to the top of the bootle (no nipple, so that I can see if the bottle fits my steriliser)
I dont understand how this dr. Brown bottle works. You say that the tube inside the bottle (its tip/top) needs to be above the milk while feeding the baby. If you making a full bootle, or nearly full.....lets say 210ml dosage and you have an 250ml bottle, and feeding your baby in horizontal or skewd position..... this cannot happen. The tip of the tube will be sunk in the beegining Only if your bottle is facing up, 90 degrees from the ground, then the tip of the tube can be above the milk. Im interested in your obesrvations
Speaking from experience with the Dr. Brown's bottle, when the bottle is tilted, quite a lot of milk goes into the nipple/teat area, so there is definitely a gap at the bottom where the tube ends.
I don’t like and use Tommee Tippee
Literally had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE SAME , started with tomee tippee stopped them same reason and he was hysterical full of air of the mams bottles in my experience he was the worse of the mam bottle and I was referred by a actual doctor to get the dr browns and they have been a lifesaver my little man is so content and loves his bottles less winding and he’s not in pain been using these now for a month and no problem , can relate so much to this video !! Spot on
Every baby is different.
My daughter loved advent bottles and dr browns but when she was a baby they didn’t have the wide neck out yet so my next baby I’ll get the wide neck
Used MAM for 6 years now.. they're definitely anti colic, never ever had my formula bubble in these bottles and I have used both regular formula and specialty formula.
My baby gets breastmilk and struggles with colic still. They should make a bottle with everything from other colic bottles into 1 bottle
When your baby has a break, they aren't actually blowing bubbles back up the stem. It's actually air being drawn back into the bottle to solve the pressure differential. The Dr Brown stem is there to allow the bottle to equalise without churning/bubbling up the milk. You can observe this as an adult, if you put your mouth over a plastic bottle of water and drink it all, you will see the bottle crumple because it's at a lower pressure compared to the outside I found that the tippee advanced anti-colic bottles had a vent that was too hard. I cut another slit at right angles to the factory one which softened the valve a lot, but increased the milk flow. The return-bubbles didn't completely stop or reach the dr. brown level, but they reduced quite a bit. Try out my modification to see if you can "fix" the tippee AAC bottles!
Can someone please tell me how to measure the 5ml please? For the gripe water. I only have a regular teaspoon at home.
You mentioned he is 4monrha old now, colic is suppose to stick around from 2wks to 3-4months of age. So it sounds as if his digestive system matured just as he hit 4months
My son is one and a half year old he is fully breastfeed I want to introduce bottle. But I don't know what to do. I tried once but he refused. Any suggstns?
Iv switched to dr browns as we were on MAM bottles for a while but Iv noticed a lot of bubbles in the MAM bottles exactly where you said you noticed them too so hoping the dr browns bottles help so far so good and we use the prep machine too x
I'm surprised by your review, but every baby is different. I swear by mam bottles, I have a really colicky baby that would cry 3-6 hours straight and we tried Dr brown's but she would not latch good, milk would spill everywhere. We switched to mam bottles and by the next day her crying was to a minimum. We now have a happy baby who only cries when ready to eat.
it just goes to show how much it is personal preference for the baby, I know lots of mums who use MAM and love MAM bottles! This is why they were first on my list to buy but unfortunately for us didn't work very well but really happy to hear you found the right bottle for your baby :)
I will try to make this comment short. I am really satisfied with the MAM bottles so far. My 1 month old has responded really well to these bottles. I have been using them for almost a week no me and can tell a huge difference. I bought them online with my groceries to be delivered and the shopper accidentally gave me the nipple which is the #2 for 2+ months. I was pretty upset because of the fact I was so looking forward to giving my gassy little man some relief. I was using gas drops and gripe water for him. I was desperate. I also was burping him after every ounce he would drink that led to him being very mad at me for taking the bottle away to burp him. After doing that after every ounce all it did was make him frustrated eventually leading to him crying and then falling asleep. He would squirm during the feeding and he appeared to just be downright uncomfortable. It was awful! So anyways, I decided to just try and feed him using the MAM bottle and nipple even though it was #2. He did really well! He finished a lot more of the bottle than he was with the other bottles I was using. He also seemed satisfied and sleepy afterwards. Now he goes back down to sleep easier and hardly any spitting up at all. He is sleeping sounder and a little longer compared to before changing to the anti-colic bottle. No spitting up the entire bottle or choking. No squirming or the high pitched squeal while feeding. So I am just overall so relieved and happy. This is the first anti-colic bottle I have ever used like this. My last child was born over 7 years ago and I used the NUBY bottles. I don’t think they were anti-colic because I didn’t really have any issues with him during feedings. I haven’t tried any other bottles other than just the basic ones I started with. Sorry that this comment is so long. I just really love the fact that they actually work like they have been advertised tfdd.!’I just want to say thank you so much to those took the time to read my comment. Also, Congratulations to all the new Mommies & Daddies out there who are exhausted. Your doing amazing! Keep your head up and make sure you realize these days will fly but so enjoy every second. God Bless you all!
Loved your video, thank you! Did you just change to Comfort formula by yourself or did u have the supervision of a Paediatritian? I want to get it but not sure…
I trusted my gut instinct I changed it myself. I did speak to the doctor before hand and they couldn't advise on it. They said it was up to me to make that decision. All I would say is, don't be afraid of it and give it a go. Your baby might have a few green poos which is totally normal, it says that on the box. I actually didn't see a huge improvement but I was much happier with it and we used it as our formula full-time until he went onto cows milk. We never went back to regular formula and I would use it again :D xx
I love the mam bottles both work well but they are so much easier to clean with less brush tools. I don't have a dish washer so I would have to brush clean the drbrown tubes. And I love that the mam bottles are self sterilizing
Wow I feel like you're just telling me my own experience, I've done everything in the same order as you and my baby is having the same experience. My Nancy is 4 weeks on Friday I'm gonna start on the gripe water and hope for the best!
The gripe water really was a game changer for us! Best of luck xx
Not that great of a review, you don't understand the anti colic system in the Mam. Not saying either bottle is better than the other but if you're going to review be educated on both products.
Sorry you didn't like the review. This is just an honest view of my own experience with both bottles, I am only as educated as any other consumer buying the bottles off a shelf, watching the marketing materials and testing them on my baby. Mums get together and talk about their experiences and suggestions. We don't need to be product experts. The Dr Browns was preference after testing them both fairly. Instead of your original comment, may I suggest using the comment section to explain the anti-colic system in the MAM bottles that could actually help other mums make their decision? We should be commenting to help, advise and talk to each other, not bring people down.
Can u explain why, i saw bubble in bottle too but my boy still ok
@@VietNguyen-kx3lq that’s how the bottle works just like with the Tommee tipper closer to nature bottles do it has the vent at the bottom and it knocks back the bubbles back into the bottle he’s not actually getting any of them your supposed to see the bubbles churning in there that’s how u know it’s working
Exclusively breastfeeding over here and having issues. Going to try gripe water but considering cutting dairy from my diet also
My 4 week old daughter is having a lot of trouble getting up wind using those MAM bottles. It becomes full of bubbles as you mention, which I never noticed with the tommee tippee advanced anti colic bottles, but she struggled to latch with those. She's also got thrush which doesn't help. Might buy those dr brown ones because its becoming a joke dealing with the after affects of the MAM ones. Impossible to settle her and she cries so much:(
I would love to know how you got on with the dr browns bottles, or did you find another that worked for you? x
@@littlevickery264 Hey, we bought the dr brown's and used throw away nuk bottles while we waited for them to arrive. We found both the nuk and dr brown's were the same, but stayed with the dr browns simply because we had bought 8 of them. Would of been happy to of stayed on nuk had we bought the propper bottles. As for how good they are, tbh they still generate a lot of wind we've found, but her latch is better so we stayed on them as her lips aren't getting blisters any more. All these bottles claim to be anti colic and reduce wind, but I don't think any of them can really stand by those statements because honestly we still had a screaming baby, before, during and after feed. The wind definitely is less than mam bottles but still as I said, she'll get up lots of wind and even hours after we'll still get wind. Friends of mine then love the mam ones! I think a lot of the problems is down to the food. We were using aptimal infant for the first 11 weeks, which creates a foam party like you'd see in ibiza inside the bottle once mixed, so clearly was causing digestive and wind issues, and she was always constipated on it. We then moved to aptimal comfort, which had no bubbles but caused severe bloating, cramps, and less wind as its meant to, but she was in agony all night and very unsettled after feeds. 3 weeks ago then we switched to hipp organic, which has less bubbles than aptimal infant, but she's much calmer on the feeds now, yet gets lots of wind during and after feed but not unsettled as before. We're still not really happy with it as constipation is persisting and we have to give lactulose every two days to get movement, but for the moment we're going to stick with it as we really don't know what formula we should try next. All you can do is try the different bottles and see what suits best. It's an expensive test but if you find one that works more to the babies liking, then stick with that. And again as I said, the wind we found was bad no matter what bottle we used, its simply that the latch was better. But I personally would choose dr brown over mam and tommee tippee, but nuk again was pretty good.
@@prestigious5s23 I can only agree, it definitely doesn't come down to just a bottle! We also went onto a comfort formula (cow & gate) after experiencing that same ibiza foam party! However we still went through lots of constipation days even on the comfort formula! I have heard kendamil organic is a great formula which I want to try for my next baby. We did lots of baby massage to relieve wind which was helpful but the best thing was gripe water for us. They definitely grow out of it but its so hard when your baby is clearly in pain :(But I now have a happy toddler who still farts all the time haha.
Love this video. You literally described exactly what I'm going through now with my 4 and a half week old. Day 1 of new comfort formula. Fingers crossed

Great viedo our mid wife said he's not older enough. I was like he is 2 months old. Gripe water work for us too
Dr browns ! Mam bottles suck respectfully
I love them. What did you hate about them? I want to know before I go recommending it
How do you give the gripe water?
I use the dropper from the old infacol bottle but you could probably buy one? I didn't try a syringe but you could try this or just a simple medicine spoon
It would be perfect if they had different teats for Dr browne's as my newborn will only take the MAM teats atm 🤔
I think the MAM teats are great but the anti-colic system on the Dr Browns is amazing, wish we could merge the two together!!
You are so strong hun! Sending First time mum love to you!!
Sending love to all first time mums trying to figure it out!! xxx
Great video. New parents ourselves with the same symptoms, and this has really helped. Gripe water to come!
how many times a day do you use it ? i always wanna use the infacol dropper too cos i already have the infacol drops .
I used gripe water as often as needed but no more than the recommended doses 1-6 months old: 1x 5ml dose 6-12 months: 2x 5ml dose both no more than 6x a times in 24 hours. Sometimes I would half the doses and so it would go further throughout the day :D the infacol dropper was great for the gripe water its a shame they dont have one!
Great video ! Dii ok you have to pay a monthly subscription to the app or is it just for some features? Thanks
Hi Phil, the app is free you just connect it to your camera. However, they offer something called Lollipop Care which has extra features such as video recording and sleep tacking but otherwise its all free with your camera purchase! I love it!
Both bottles are great. The hospital did tell me to boil water then pour over formula mix up and let cool down.
Yes they both have so many pros! For anyone struggling with leaks, cooling the milk down is key :)
will u plz tell me that. is it ratio 30ml water=1 scoop of formula milk ...is it right or wrong ?
My 2mo baby started to be constipated straight after he stoped taking my breast milk. He was 1mo at the time. He usually used to poo 4/5 times a day, with the formula he dropped to 1 time a day every 2 days. After many researchers I decided to give it a go for cow&gate comfort. Well my review is positive about helping with constipation because it actually did helped him. He now poo 2/3 times a day everyday. I'm not sure about colics wise, I think all babies go through that and it will stop around 6 months old. I must say...YES POO&FARTS STINKS 😅😂. Poo looks yellowish and very buttery consistency. I personally like this product and I would recommend it. Hope my review will be helpful. x
Love the mams bottles
I switched to drbrowns and its betting for my baby. I bought it without checking it and it turned out great.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video, I felt like you were describing my son's issues. Will be looking at buying the comfort milk, just need to check if this can be given to 2w old babies.
Thank you for this, we are about to try gripe water!
I hope this worked for you!
My baby is vomiting from Dr.Browns teats, they are too long for him. Only mam for us
Thank you for this! I love gripe water! I am going to try comfort cow and gate... I was exclusive for 4 months but ever since I have introduced formula that is when the troubles started... she will be 6 months next week ❤️
Along with anti colic bottles I give my baby soothe comforting probiotic drops because gas relief drops did not work for us. I also strictly breast feed
