Beautiful little machines. So well made. Check Spark Plug Cap resistance. Most older Hondas and bikes, single and twin cylinder have 10,000 (10K) ohms ignition resistance between ignition coil to spark plug electrode. Usually a 10K ohm spark plug cap with a low resistance (plain copper) plug. Some use a 5K ohm spark plug cap with a 5K ohm spark plug for a total of 10K ohms. I had identical problems as you with a mid 70s XL Honda, new plug worked for about 30 minutes, then got weak spark, plug cap was 15K ohms, swapped to a 10K ohm plug cap, perfect runnning again. Stay gold.
Love watching your videos but after watching this video, I am tempted to send you guys some tools. Get rid of a adjustable wrench. Before you know it ,You guys will open up a Old school Honda shop. Keep the videos going . I look forward to your videos.
Howdy fellow Montanans, I'm currently working on a 1970 ct90 and a 1971. Dig the channel. Subscribed
I brought my 90 down there and talked to you guys. Loving the channel!
thanks for checking the channel! Bike show was an awesome time
You guy's are growing, soon to be a club. I want to buy one of your shirts, Let me know when they are available to purchase , I will represent when I am riding one of my CT-90's. I will send you guys some pictures of my collection , Almost done with my last 2. Keep cruising .
Thanks for the continued support Johnny! Email us your size and address and we'll send you one next month fo free
So how is the carb? It is better? Is it easy to install without any modifications ? Thank you!
much better! Still riding with zero issues. Easy to install, all our bikes have that carb now.
@@MTBottleBoys Thank you
Enjoying your videos. Just subscribed. Did you figure out how to set timing? With piston at TDC, flywheel “T” mark is lined up with notch in engine case at 12:00. At the same time, the “O” on cam gear faces 9:00. There is a notch in head, that you can see with cam cover off. If you have all these lined up, you should be good for timing.
We did figure it out and thanks for the tip! We gave a quick recap in "miller divide trail" episode.
@@MTBottleBoys 👍🏻 I must have missed the follow up.
Short but cool, One of those bikes sounded like the idle was super high , keep the videos coming
Majestic
On the Blue bike in the garage with that chrome pipe, Do you think it would fit on a later ct-90 ?? somewhere around 1977 . It looks cool , I just don't know if the bend would work.
If you have the original Honda ct90 engine then it will not fit. If you have a Lifan or any other chinese clone of the honda engine then it will fit. The difference is the exhaust mounting studs on the original honda engines are spaced closer together then on the chinese clone engines. So the exhaust pipes are not interchangeable between the original honda ct90 engines and the chinese clone engines that we have in our bikes.
@@dgc9198 Thanks for the reply, Keep the videos coming
That is a Honda Passport C70. A CT70 is a much smaller bike
Another great video guys, Always enjoy watching, Do you guys have any issues with the stock ct-90 with the altitude ??, The blue bike that you guys were working on in the garage, What year is it. Also wondering what Pipe is on that bike. One of my CT-90 needs a pipe and was wondering if you think that pipe would work on like a 1977. And where do you guys get your parts. Keep up with the videos.
None the bikes in the collection are technically stock, we outfitted them all with lifan 125's and nibbi carbs. They have done just fine with the altitude, and have way more power then the stock engines ever did. I cant remember the year on the blue one but I would say likely in the 60's. The exhaust is just an cheap 18$ pipe from ebay. If you have a stock engine then you would need a different exhaust pipe as the mounting bolts on the lifan engines are different then the stock ct90 engines.
Top tier video here. Love this episode!
how fast do those go? looks fun
Bill Shakespeare said that a thing of beauty is a joy forever. Super steep silliness satiates!
You guys keep it real, Love your videos.
Would love to see you guys put disks brakes on it
Nice video guys , I like that exhaust pipe you mocked up, What pipe is that?? Do you think that pipe would work on a stock ct90, I need a pipe , And rather not have to hunt for a stock one. Cant wait for the first fire up. That bike is going to scoot.
Looking forward to the next episode
Beautiful
This episode kicks ass! Love the longer videos with a mix of shooting the shit, tuning up bikes, and taking a rip out.
That carb sounds like it woke that motor up, I should probably try one. I love these bikes I just bought my 5th one, I am running out of room in my garage. I am in San Diego and sometimes I find these bikes real cheap. If I was up near you guys I would love to cruise on some of your rides. Keep up with the videos I enjoy watching them.
Gotta use that sound effect from Dan landing on the metal in one of your games 😂
This is rad, the kind of episode to see. just a bunch of guys being dudes. And ripping those old Hondas. Curious what you're using to edit?
We're stoked you dig it! We use Adobe premiere to edit, Hero 7 Silver and Insta360 X3 to film.
@@MTBottleBoys Hell yea! I work in video production so always curious what people are shooting on/editing with
Lovely CT90❤
Another great video, You guys must of had some wind drag with the snow boards positioned horizontal, Try and figure out a way to attach them inline with the bike, check out surf board racks for scooters or bicycle's and just fab some up yourself , Probably didn't have to ride the brakes much going down hill.
Thanks for tips dude, surf board rack seems worth it! The wind drag was pretty crazy, haha. We're definitely going to be adding multiple racks for a campin trip this year!
You guys are exactly the kind of people I would cherish as friends. Fun figured out
Im proud ct110 owner. I love CT ❤❤❤ . Is Life style. And also my Psychotherapy !!!
We agree! Honda CT has set us free!
Very cool
Giddy up!
Mine died while riding. 1974 CT90, gas cap did not breath properly.
been searching for a good priced one for years. Everything stupid expensive
“A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” - Bill Shakespeare P.S.: Exuberant cool!
Did you make your own mount for the engine or dr atv?
We drilled a larger hole on the engine to mount it, the 1:00 mark briefly shows this
Or sell your soul to find an original external fuel tank and just drink out of it
Where are all the boys
We generally break out the skis and snowboards around this time, but expect season 2 to start up in March!
I wanted to hear the bikes when ride
We'll start including those sweet sweet engine sounds!
Nice work!
Lovin this episode! Great balance of working on bikes and out riding with the guys. This is what I'm talking about! Is there an Instagram account for "MT Bottle Boys" yet?
Not yet, probably soon though!
Looks like fun ,
I dig what you guys have going here. Like seeing ya'll fixing bikes and modding them. Would be sweet to see more of the adventures or the POV of riding in a group out in MT.
So adding a larger rear sprocket on the orange bike gave you better top speed in 4th gear ??. What size is the sprocket over the stock one ?
We only changed the front sprocket, 15 to 19 tooth I believe!
Leg saver, all of it! Beautiful
I say “YES!”
Boutta throw some shinkos on some Thailand rep wheels, nice vid
very nice man, you'll have to let us know how it goes!
looking into the cg125 fork swap on the ct200
Keep up the vids! I have two 1973 ct90s i just got running. Ones running rough so I’m hoping to pick up some tricks from you guys!
Love the videos working on a cheapo ct200 right now
Thanks for tuning in. We wish you best of luck with your CT restoration!
Very cool videos! Been thinking about a 125 lifan for one of mine. Could you have flipped the carb/intake the other way? I like the look of the old air box, thinking of trying to re-use it.
On a lot of those old Hondas, the green wires are ground
