at 30:40 it cannot be considered as white wall bcoz, R=3,L=1 hence it is divisible by 3 but doesnot contains equal number of R,G,B
Yes. That’s a good catch. It is not considered as a white wall, as we did not focus on all the substrings of sizes divisible by 3 but just took only one substring of size 6 for our explanation to show equal number of R, G, B. In the further example, you will find it clear how we need to take all the substrings of sizes divisible by 3 and move forward. Please watch it for a better clarity.
Advitiya problem 4:10
Nice
any clue how to solve the question "simultaneous robots"
Hey! You can try to approach the Simultaneous robots problem with the following hints: 1. If you don't have the two robots in the picture, how would you approach the problem for only one robot? 2. If you know the path of the first robot, then is there any way such that you can make the second robot not follow the same path? 3. If your both robots are having distinct paths, then you can guarantee that both the paths will be same? 4. If there existed only 1 distinct path, then what do you think the second robot will do such that it doesn't land up in the first robot's path at the same point of time, rather maybe later than the first robot? Try the following test case for additional clarity. 2 4 4 ..#. .##. .... .#.. 5 4 .### .### ...# ##.# ##.. Expected Output: 8 -1

Good explanation. It was really helpful thank you so much !!!
Glad it was helpful!
nice pro ,keep going
currently my rating is 1140 on codechef how should i improve it plz tell
Be consistent with your practice. Participate in every contest, even if you're not fully prepared. Focus on accuracy-solve at least one problem perfectly. After contests, upsolve the problems you couldn't solve. Strengthen your basics in algorithms and data structures, and gradually tackle harder problems. Keep practicing regularly, and your rating will improve!
nice work brother

@SmartInterviews sir... please explain solution of all the questions in coding contst of codechef.
There are so many edge cases and intricate number theory concepts for k=7, but they’re explained so well! Kudos!
We're glad you found the explanation helpful 🙌. Breaking down complex concepts like these is what we aim for. Stay tuned for more content like this! 😊
Man in the first problem why'd you sort to get the maximum of an array? that is O(NLOGN) oof. Just do a 1 pass scan. FInd Total sum and max in that scan.Ved gets totalsum-max. It can be solved in a single scan without sorting and scanning again for sum.
We can do that as well, but if you notice, the size of the array is very small, so we simply sorted it. If the constraints were larger, we would have used your approach.
We can solve the second question in O(1) time complexity by exploiting the property that the perimeter of a rectangle is always even. If the value of k is odd, we simply print 1 since the perimeter can never be odd. If the perimeter is even, we print 0 because we can always reduce the maximum perimeter to k by decreasing the length and width, as long as both remain greater than 1. The obvious edge cases are: When k is greater than the maximum perimeter, print k - maximum perimeter. When k ≤ 4, print maximum perimeter - k. Here is my python code for it: tc=int(input()) for i in range(tc): x,y,z=map(int,input().split()) if 2*(x+y)<=z: print(z-2*(x+y)) elif z<=4: print(4-z) elif z & 1: print(1) else: print(0)
hey.. I am beginner in CP ....is sir makes only 3,4 questions video on each time?
@ there are only 3,4 questions in a contest
@@Tejesh-t1t No....I think 6 questions in actual contest
@@komal-xl7ps yea but only 3,4 of them are worth discussing.

For 3 que I have used stack and it was showing run time error
If you are encountering a runtime error while using a stack, I recommend reviewing your code thoroughly. The issue might be related to stack operations, such as attempting to pop or peek from an empty stack or exceeding the stack's limits. For a more accurate assessment, could you please share your code? This will help in identifying the exact cause of the error and provide you with a precise solution.
Perfect breakdown!
