Hi, Cindy. What an useful video! Thanks a lot
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy holidays!
Thanks for sharing a “real life” post. Sometimes things aren’t what we hope and it’s good to acknowledge that. These are meaningful suggestions! Thank you!
Yes, sometimes "real life" can be tough, but you are tougher! Glad you found my suggestions meaningful. Enjoy the holidays, as best you can.
Hi Cindy. Thanks for the tips! Your videos are so useful.
Thank you! Happy you are a loyal follower!
If a cover letter is optional, do you recommend including one anyway?
I always recommend cover letters! My clients have been called in for interviews within hours of applying and the cover letter is always cited as the reason. It is definitely about the hook. If your cover letter could be written by anybody, for any position, it is definitely not helping you. Avoid the, “I’m excited to apply” and think about why you are totally awesome for this position, what is unique about you, or what this company or organization does that is powerful, in a way that is not going to be mentioned by every other job seeker.
Very good video! Thanks.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed my video!
removing graduation dates shows you're trying to hide your age Don't you think?
It is expected that you should remove your college if it was decades ago. Also, once you have work experience, your college is much less relevant. It’s only important that you have the degree.
@CindyLish huh? remove your degree completely???
No, never! It’s important that you have the degree. Just remove the dates. Keep the school and the degree earned.
@CindyLish but Indeed doesn't let you passed that field without the dates Also, the same goes with most online applications of the companies. I know you're aware of this. So, what's the solution?
@CindyLish oh, also I have an Associates. At another college I completed 3 years towards a B.A. should I include that I completed education????
Thanks for helping our daughter Cindy🤗 God is good😇
It was such a delight working with her! I am so proud of her and know she will be enormously successful! Thank you for watching and commenting! 🧡
Hi, Cindy. Thanks for the video.
You are so welcome!
Love this!!! It is so sad that this is happening
Yes, it truly is! And everyone is targeted. I personally receive multiple scam job texts a week, and I am absolutely not job searching.
Cindy, how do I answer application questions like “How many years of teaching experience do you have?” When I say 20, they automatically think I’m old.
Think about the question from the other perspective. They want to make sure you have their minimum years of experience. Write the number that corresponds with the way it is written on your resume (which should be 10-15 years).
Great tips. Thanks for sharing.

You are so welcome!
Hi Cindy. Amazing video. Useful content. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for these tips. What if I didn't ask how much the job pays? Should I inquire this in the Thank you email? Or should I send a separate email?
Hi Brandy- glad you enjoyed my tips! Definitely do not send an email asking about the salary. You will be much more successful if you wait until they bring up the salary. As far as negotiating, wait until you are given an offer, and they are impressed with the value you will bring to their company. This will give you significantly more leverage. This video will give you all the information you need and exact scripts to negotiate your salary and get a higher offer. th-cam.com/video/Wv8XFRBRSEE/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so much! Check out this video to help you negotiate your salary! th-cam.com/video/Wv8XFRBRSEE/w-d-xo.html
Great tips!
Thank you! Glad you found them to be helpful!
So here's the problem I have with this particular situation...what happens when they tell you upfront how much the job is paying and it's not what you want and they asked you initially are you ok with that and you say YES and then turn around after the offer is made and say can we discuss the salary? Your going to look like a liar...how do we handle that....pls do follow up video on it. Thx
You can always ask if there is any wiggle room with the salary, even if you previously stated that you are ok with the salary. That is not going to make you look like a liar. Of course, you should not say that you are ok with a salary that is significantly under what you would accept. You are wasting everyone's time.
Ok Thank You Cindy....I have a interview coming up and I will let you know how it goes? Do you have a video on the proper way to leave a new job for the only you really want? There's no way to leave the current job to attend the interviews of the other job etc....pls advise.
You can't tell your job that you are leaving to go on an interview at another company. Either take the interview before work, after work, take a half day, or take a personal day. @@t.g.4311
Hello Cindy, I love your content! Thank you so much for such valuable advice! I saw this video and was willing to ask for your guidance in this. You said "Let me start looking at what I want to do. Start there". Could you please suggest resources or tools to dillucidate / approach /land this first step? How to build the vision of what you want of your next job, and your career? Thank you!
Thank you so much! Glad you are loving my content! While there are a plethora of tests you could take, I’m not a fan. Instead, think about the best parts of everything you do. This could be from your work, volunteering, personal life, and think about what you really love. Consider what you do better than others. (If you don’t know what you do well, then ask your friends and family.) Then put the skills you do well into the job search engines and explore. Look at companies and non profits that are meaningful to you.
Thank you so much!!!!@@CindyLish
You are most welcome!
Don't allow the interviewer to ask such vague questions! If they ask this, respond by "well, what exactly would YOU like to know about me?" If the interviewer insists on remaining vague or "cryptic," see that as a sign of them wasting YOUR time; not the other way around!
It’s actually a good question and allows you the opportunity to take control and tell them the parts of your experience that are most important to this job.
Hi Cindy. As always your videos are so useful. Thanks for producing this kind of content.
Thank you for your continued support and enjoyment of my videos!
Such clarity!!!! Thank you!!!!
Thank you! Check out the whole series! This was video 2, there is a 1 and 3.
Hi Cindy. Having different resumes for applying to different positions is an important point to take in account. Thanks for the video and tips. Have an amazing week!
You are absolutely correct! Glad it was helpful!
Hi Cindy. Congrats for the video. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes not to respond or launch any feedback about the Interview processo is an employer's decision. There are cases where the recruiter and/or employer want just to collect information, e.g. salary, from candidates. So, It is necessary to accept this kind of behavior from recruiter and/or employer and then move forward to another opportunity. Bye for now!
This sometimes happens at an initial phone screening. You still have the option of reaching back out to them, even if you only met briefly with the recruiter. Also, don’t forget to send a thank you email after every interview, even the screening one.
Hi Cindy. Another great video. Thanks for sharing those precious tips. Have a good day! Congrats for the channel.
You are most welcome! Glad that you love my tips!
Great tips, Cindy! Thanks!
Thank you! So glad you are enjoying my content!
Hi Cindy. Being positive looks like the best way to show yourself. Thanks for the video.
You are most welcome! Definitely stay mindful of what you post online, for sure!
Hi Cindy. It's crucial to be polite and kind with people. Good morning, thank you, hello, please, best regards, smiling are words and action that can open doors. It's another useful video with excellent guidance. Thanks for this valuable channel.
Absolutely! Well said! Thank you for your comments!
