Just listened to today’s game and the whole time I was thinking “man I wish Ernie was calling this game”! Did a quick search and found this. Holy flashbacks Batman! Grandpa “pollock” always had his transistor radio on when the tigers were playing. I was barely tall enough to see what was on the workbench that little leather wrapped radio sat on. It was always the unmistakable voice of the late great legend Ernie Harwell that I remember. Wow… That was 45 years ago.
GO BILLS 🔵🔴
Do you have the Pirates broadcast of GAME 7 of the 1992 NLCS?
Any spoilers?

Jim Simpson and John Brodie on the call
In 68 coach Hank Steam was losing his hair; in 69 it all grew back!!😅
During the 1985 season, we would watch the TV telecasts of the Bears' games, but turn off the audio and listen to the radio play-by-play. It synched up perfectly with no lag. The radio play-by-play was much superior to the TV broadcast commentary. The only downside was that the replays of key plays did not have any matching commentary, but that was not a big problem. Thanks for this upload!
If the stat for dropped passed existed back then, the Browns might have the record. There must have been a dozen. On every drive, there was at least one. Logan dropped a near touchdown. Ozzie himself dropped a couple. I was feeling for Sipe by the end of this. Browns should have won this by two scores if they caught half of them.
Lindgren Trail
Hillard Gates . Fort Wayne Legend Sports Announcer. Obviously not limited to only Fort Wayne.
Jim Simpson also broadcast quite a few World Series. He had a very smooth relaxing voice. A lot of fun to listen to.
It wasn't just a rivalry between the Chiefs and Raiders. These hated each other!
Go Green!
Pitt stinks. And doesn't go to bowl games.
What a treasure, thanks for preserving this great radio call (despite the outcome LOL...). Fight on!
Jack Buck @ pat summerall were the Goats of my youth !! RIP boys !!
I was at this game as well as the clinching WS game. So much excitement that year. Also, Paul Carey was a very underrated broadcaster. His HR calls were the best! Overshadowed by one on the greats…Ernie Harrell.
28:04 Singletary stops Dickerson
Wow! I can really hear Gary Thorne's New England accent.
From 1966 to 1971 the Birds were elite, it's ashame they ran into two teams that stumped them in 69 & 71
Does anyone know how to get more NBC and CBS TV audio from 1970-75, especially regular season? I want to hear some great television announcers and do a RedZone perspective with real football!
I love hearing classic CFB radio broadcasts!
Thanks for sharing the audio. It was fun hearing the call by 2 legends. I am sure I watched the game. I enjoy the old games more than the present ones.
the music, the slo mo, the narration !!🔥🔥

Rocky Bleier was ND's lone captain in 1967.
My nostalgia meter just blew up
Davis was a creepy owner
This was Southern Cal’s first win at Notre Dame since 1939, breaking a streak of 10 straight home wins for ND in the series. Up to this point, only 2 ND-USC games had been nationally televised-1951 in LA and 1965 at ND, both on NBC. The 1949 game at ND was televised by DuMont, but not in LA. The 1950 game was televised only in LA, on KTTV-11. The 1952 game was joined in progress on NBC after Army-Navy. Every ND-USC game in Los Angeles since 1968 has been televised on a broadcast or cable network, as were the games at ND from 1973-1979 and all of them since 1987.
3:15:51 WILD PITCH 3:17:39 BILL BUCKNER'S ERROR (Little roller up along first… Behind THE BAG! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight and the Mets win it!)
Three lost fumbles on running plays in the 4th quarter by the Chiefs. How the hell did they win?
destiny
Raiders fans think Otis Taylor was out of bounds. If you play it in slow motion, you can see a split moment after the ball hit his hand, which he never lost control of, his right foot landed then his left foot clearly was in bounds. His right foot was an inch out, but he had already landed two feet in.
What has to be accounted for is the contact made by Raider DB George Atkinson on Taylor that was enough to jolt Taylor in the direction of the sideline. By rule, that is considered a force-out.
Recorded of 950 KPRC (95 or 95-Oh), first in sound, first in Houston. Humble (which became Exxon in 1972) held the radio rights for the entire SWC until 1976, succeeded by the Mutual Broadcasting System and then by Host Communications before the rights devolved to the member schools.
There is a point with about six minutes left in regulation where the broadcasters talk (quite reasonably), about getting two first downs to run out the clock. Little do they know all the crazy, joyous football that was coming. Living the ups and downs with these guys, knowing what they don’t know, is pretty neat. You can just tell how much these broadcasters want it for their school.
great game for raider fans
miss Tom Kelly, one of the greatest Trojans
Every boy growing up in Detroit from the 50's through the 80's remembers his father working in the garage/basement/backyard/etc and always WJR & Ernie Harwell(& Paul Carey no slouch filling in those middle innings) on the radio playing in the background, listening to the Tigers, all summer long....⚾️🙏😎

WRONG DATE! The 1981 NFC Championship Game was played on January 10, 1982. January 19, 1982 was on a TUESDAY. 😂
By far the best CFB game I’ve watched. The most excited I’ve been for a team to win that wasn’t my own ever watching sports.
"Taylor's spectacular catch" was no catch at all !!
Chuck Thompson was usually the lead broadcaster for the Colts but as was the custom then the lead guy did the network broadcast for the Championship games. Ken Coleman represented Cleveland.
Hope you find more NBC Radio Broadcasts in the future on your Ancient Mariner, especially the 1972 AFC Championship Game.
The better team won this World Series.
