I worked for an up and coming designer, who would stop work on paying clients' dresses to make an dress that *might* get worn by a celeb. Usually their stylists would go around and get several dresses from different designers so that their client would have a choice. Stylists would sometimes bring gowns back dirty or damaged. It's annoying the see paying clients get ignored for the slim chance some rich celeb *might* wear a gown from a designer who is still struggling financially. My paycheck bounced, but at least what's-her-name got a free dress.

Celebrities should wear designs from independent designers. Those high nose brands don't need the advertisement, but it would mean the world to amateurs/indie designers
Some events have restrictions on which designers can be worn. The Met gala is obviously the worst for that, but the higher end the event, the more restrictive. That's one of the reasons we often see celebrities in ugly, ill-fitting clothes from designer labels when we know they actually have nice clothes that fit them at home. They're being forced to wear **something** provided by an approved designer but can't control what they're sent as options. If they're lucky and at the top of the list, they'll get a rack if clothes to try and a fitting beforehand. If they're unlucky and low in a list, other celebrities get first pick of the items offered and they get thrown something at the last minute with no choice and no time for fittings and still expected to show up no matter how dumb it looks in the end. Some of them are contracted by the designer, some by their talent/management agencies, but very few have aa much freedom to wear whatever they want as we think. Only the highest level A-listers can ignore the rules without getting blacklisted as a result. And the worst thing is, it's also only the high level A-listers (and people born into money) who can afford to buy designer clothes for everything. Other celebrities can only wear so much new expensive stuff because it's given to them for promotion, they can't actually afford it. So they just gotta wear what they're given. Can't get caught wearing target or Walmart brand or whatever (unless your schtick is "average joe")

The designer is Georges Hobeika, this dress is in his spring 2024 collection, i believe. I could be wrong about the collection but that is the designer.
