so there's a fast way for multiplying and deviding by 10 in assembly. this is very useful even for programming in higher level languages. now I 'm understandying why multiplying a float number by 10 in C++ I obtain e precise result. thank you!

Thanks for this. Apart from a ZX81 and ZX Spectrum (Z80 machines), I also have a Soviet Mikrolab KR580IK80 which has a KR580VM80A processor which as I understand it is a clone of the Intel 8080A. The latter can only be programmed in machine code, so it's how I got into this area

Thank you for your clear and slow paced tutorial. I'm still pretty new to the world of CPUs, but am fascinated by its inner workings, and the 4004 is a great place to start. I managed to find the 4004 Assembly source code of the Busicom 145 PF calculator, and am particularly interested in how on Earth they programmed their device to compute square roots with 10 digits. Have you had a look at the code? It's very short!

My introduction course to microprocessors was a course run by Siemens South Africa on an 8080 trainer. At the end of the week course we programmed a clock. That was in 1980.

Hi thanks for an excellent video on the Zilog PIO. I have used the Zilog PIO chip to print to a dot matrix printer in one of my Z80 computers. But I did not have to utilize the handshaking/interrupt capability of the PIO. Now I am trying to connect two Z80 computers via the PIO chip as in the example on page 377 of the textbook "The Z80 Microprocessor" by Ramesh Gaonkar. His example utilizes handshaking and the Z80 interrupt mode 2 and the bidirectional data transfer mode 2 of the PIO. Unfortunately, the interrupt pin on the PIO is always low, so that the Z80 processor is interrupted when it should not be interrupted. Do you know what I am doing wrong? Should not the PIO interrupt pin be high (not active) until the strobe signal is sent? If so, what makes that interrupt pin low, at the start of the code?
