Both of us only had our mothers there so we dedicated a song by a South African Singer Dozi too them instead of a speach, the Song "'n Song vir Ma".
There will be no dad walking my daughter down the aisle, as he died in Baghdad. But I know he walks beside her everyday. He’s with us with every milestone-both large & small. I miss him so very much, I ache for him. And I ache for my daughter that didn’t get to know her daddy. Yet she’s daddy’s little girl-even now. Some day, some young man is going to have to ask me for her…..& I’m going to make sure he understands the meaning behind this song.
I remember Tim singing this song to his oldest daughter when he and faith drop her off at college brought tears to my eyes just like now beautiful song
Watching this makes me miss my Dad so much it brings so many memories of the life he gave us it was full of adventure we lived an ARMY life with all kinds of traveling and even after he retired he worked in the civil service and etill more traveling this world. You were and still are my hero and I was Blessed to have found a man just like him. Many many yrs of happiness for this couple

Perhaps you are not familiar with traditional weddings. This was the part of the RECEPTION where the father and daughter traditionally share their father/daughter dance. As this dad is obviously unable to dance with his daughter during their song, his daughter alternately and thoughtfully prepared a musical slide show celebrating their special bond. While it was a moment traditionally reserved for the bride and the father-of-the-bride, her sweet groom was clearly included in the photos and was also praised during the father-of-the-bride’s speech. The bride set the father/daughter slideshow to the Tim McGraw song but didn’t know that her dad was actually planning to sing it to her instead. It was a beautiful traditional father-of-the-bride speech and a precious father/daughter music moment where dad was able to embrace and “dance” with his daughter with his vocal chords instead of arms and legs. I loved everything about this special father/daughter dance. ❤
