Julee Cruise - I Float Alone
มุมมอง 19K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Produced by David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti. Some songs from this album are thought to be written from the point of view of Twin Peaks character Laura Palmer. An instrumental of the song Falling on the album is the theme for Twin Peaks.

Have been thinking of this song constantly with election coming up. It seems like it is time to let a woman fix everything.
there are indeed artists and sound designers who use extreme techniques like this, going through hundreds or even thousands of iterations to create a completely unique sound. This approach is common in experimental music, noise music, and artistic genres like sound art and drone. These artists may spend hours (or even days) refining a single sound to achieve a unique texture that is practically unrepeatable. This approach is also used by certain sound designers for film, video games, and art installations, where they need a specific, unique sound with a one-of-a-kind character. Some examples include: Experimental Composers and Noise Artists Artists like Merzbow, William Basinski, and Ryoji Ikeda use iterative processes, feedback loops, and extreme sound manipulation. For example, Basinski is well-known for his “Disintegration Loops” series, where he repeated and degraded audio tape loops thousands of times to create textures symbolizing decay and the passage of time. Sound Design for Movies and Video Games Sound designers for science fiction and horror films, such as the teams behind Blade Runner 2049 or A Quiet Place, use highly detailed techniques to create sounds that are truly unique. They often combine natural recordings, synthetic processes, and iterative manipulation to craft complex soundscapes. Granular Synthesis and Wavetable Experiments in Electronic Music Some electronic music producers, particularly in ambient and experimental genres, may spend an entire day or more crafting a single sound through iterative shaping. For example, in modular synthesis, you might hear sounds created from hours of endless feedback loops, yielding a unique tone through prolonged processing.
"As winter approaches, it would seem to be a good time for trees to conserve energy but some trees do the opposite. Instead of giving up, they spend extra energy producing anthocyanins to turn their leaves red and purple hues. These colors protect their leaves from sun damage before their nutrients can all be used and may also be a defense against insects looking for a parasitic home; a way for the tree to tell the insects: "yes, I am in part dying, but not without a fight. I am still very much, vital."" -Vsauce Michael in his video: m͏̺͓̲̥̪í͇͔̠ś̷͎̹̲̻̻̘̝t̞̖͍͚̤k̥̞à̸͕̮͍͉̹̰͚̰ẹ̶̢̪s͏̨͈̙̹̜͚̲'_

TIL the back story of this album & it's cover. the feeling of sadness is still the same.
This feels like a little snack after Everywhere At The End of Time
Floating through this darkness All alone Love is gone in darkness Cold as a stone Searching through the shadows you have known Love's gone Bare as a bone. Trying to hold the memory face You seem to have vanished without a trace And in this darkness This empty space I float alone. Now the night is falling You have gone Sad dreams blow through dark trees Love's gone wrong Clouds of sadness raining all night long Love's gone The end of our song. I float alone I float alone.
Why am i crying
"Take it with you Tich, I'll see you on Monday" R.I.P. my friend.

I can listen to that guitar loop forever. It’s so simple but doesn’t get old.

When it's all the same music on loop but still has "most replayed" peaks and you click on them to make sure it's all the same music on loop and by so doing add to the "most replayed" peak so that the next person that clicks on this video . . . music.th-cam.com/play/PLOIv_xROkuyuLjcl4Na2ynVO1eHAV4B8y.html&si=lSwCh6dVuxuscJg3

Haunting. Its like funeral music for the World Trade Center and its workers on that day.
I like how The entire song is like a guitar solo with a pop chorus at the end being used how a guitar solo normally would basically. Inteesting shit. Very different approach to songwriting.
Such a tune

Vídeo original?
after 10 minutes I got bored
🙄🙄🙄
The ache of missing you is somewhat endless. It just goes on and on like this loop. sometimes it fades into almost nothing. but the deep longing never really heals itself for long. To think we listened to this shortly after we met....I often wonder if you can still hear it x
Oh, that´s where Burial came from.
The Beauty of this is the complexity of the sound, making it diverse and open to play in any way, im always fascinated by other people’s experience within this realm, being able to connect with people from many years back until now. Speaking of parties, last night I heard Sonja Moonear play an incredible set, alongside many other mega minds but particularly she sparked something within me, the way she layered some records with these obscure sounds brought a tear to my eye. She inspired me beyond belief… the rest is history. I now find my self rummaging through the depths of TH-cam, and found this masterpiece! I dream of the day I can play this to a crowed and unexpectedly combine it with another masterpiece, until then I will continue to listen and experience with Disintegration Loops. Thank you Basinski!
