    Wassup? We have Chicago, 9 hours post and only 128 views??? Well that's just wrong! First time visiting. Like your style! How do we get your numbers up. If we start with what's popular; Carpenter's SUPERSTAR is awesome and Karen is of my top 5 favorite female singers including Linda Ronstadt with BLUE BAYOU! Barbara Streisand with A WOMAN IN LOVE 💓 and EVERGREEN 💕 Carly Simon and Ann Wilson makes 5. One of my favorite male performances (believe or not) WHO'S LOVING YOU by the Jackson 5 and a 10 year old (?) Michael! There! That's a good start 😂 Be keeping an eye out for Jamila! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼

    I was there live. It wasn't Pink Floyd. I knew that beforehand. But you don't get the opportunity to see The Wall live every day. 😄 The performance was really great. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a severe sound failure right at the beginning. You didn't see anything about it on TV. But even if I had known about it beforehand, I would still have gone.

Bendiciones!

    Hi, first time watching one of your reactions, but well done! As for the video, truly one of the most magnificent performances by all involved, though as noted in other comments, not actually Pink Floyd. The whole concert is great, with a slew of performers who came together for this benefit concert, spearheaded by Roger Waters, former Pink Floyd bassist, who wrote much of their catalog in the time before he left the band. You can tell he wrote this one by that bass line, which drives the whole song throughout. Yes, that's him playing the bass in the sunglasses. Cyndi is wonderful in this role, her antics during the solos outrageously cute. The solos are by Rick Difonzo first, Snowy White second, Peter Wood on the keyboards, and Thomas Dolby on the key-tar(?) as I think you called it (he's also in costume as the 'teacher', which is also represented by the huge inflatable dangling over the wall). The stage...HUGE, and as mentioned elsewhere, performed in Potsdamer Platz Berlin where the Wall stood one year before. During the first half of the concert (performed before a crowd of 350,000) the guys in the hats built the wall piece by piece...it's neat to watch it grow when you watch the whole concert. Other performers in this show are Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Sinead O'Conner, and the Scorpions, to name just a few. I have this on the original DVD, a prized possession! I'm going to check out your other reactions, and if they are as great as this, count on me subscribing!

    Sorry Jamille, this is NOT PINK FLOYD. It's a Roger Waters solo version of The Wall some 9 years After he left Pink Floyd. This was originally a Pink Floyd live concert, but these are not Pink Floyd musicians. Pink Floyd continued performing WITHOUT Roger Waters through to 2008. This is a very good version but NOT FLOYD. See the Pink Floyd 1994 Pulse concert video to see them perform this number as a stand alone song (not as part of the Wall). The Pulse concerts are considered the best live shows ever performed. The 5 million people who saw the tour would agree. The Wall is Roger Waters magnum opus and he continued performing it live for many years, but it is NOT Pink Floyd.

  • @richardmillard5498
    @richardmillard5498 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This performance, good as it is, is NOT Pink Floyd. This is Roger Waters (who wrote nearly all of The Wall) solo with guest musicians doing his The Wall concert after leaving the band in 1981 (actually he tried to break the band up but failed) The guitar solo is written by David Gilmour who continued with Pink Floyd. If you want to compare this Roger Waters version with the Pink Floyd live version, see the Pink Floyd Pulse concert of 1994. The Pulse concert BTW is probably the best live concert by any band ever. 5 million people who saw them on that tour all agree. Both versions are very good. But first and foremost this was NOT PINK FLOYD.

      Agree. The Pulse concert version by the real Pink Floyd is much, much better. I am not a Roger Waters fan, never was, even when he was with Pink Floyd. I'll grant that he was a great lyricist for the band, but his musical skills were sub-par. David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason created that signature Pink Floyd sound with their superb musicianship (especially Gilmour and Wright), working collaboratively while leaving their egos at the door. The same could not be said of Waters. He was an egomaniac. I'm glad he left the band. They sound so much better without him.

  • @simonbone
    @simonbone 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This wasn't Pink Floyd, it was Roger Waters (who was the mastermind behind PF's 1979 The Wall album but later left the band) and an all-star cast in a special concert held in July 1990 in still-divided Berlin. The Wall concert took place at Potsdamer Platz, which was then a huge wasteland where the Berlin Wall had been until a few months earlier; it was literally still the border between East and West, as Germany didn't officially reunite until October that year. (It's also near the spot where Hitler took his own life in 1945. There was lots of history in this area - for centuries the center of Prussian and later German power.)

All in all, the tour required 700 tons of steel carried by 53 articulated trucks, a crew of 161 people and an initial investment of US$4 million plus US$25 million of running costs just to stage. This tour played to over 5 million people in 68 cities; each concert gathered an average audience of 45,000

    The story of this concert and where it took place is a story itself. And so powerful. The first half, as you can see they are building the wall. At the end of the show, that wall comes down. Which is just awesome to see. The Wall album is the greatest concept album of all time. About a rock star who, over time, builds an emotional wall due to things that happen in this life. The concept can apply to anyone and all of us who build our own emotional walls, brick by brick, and then hopefully come to the realisation that this wall must cone down.

    Cyndi was performing Janis Joplin covers before she made it big. You're right. Even at age 71, she's still fearless in singing this song on her farewell tour even though age has somehow caught up with her. Not to discount her battle with psoriasis, which affected her vocal range. When I first heard this song, it scared me because no one has ever attempted (none that I knew of at the time) singing like this: lying around on stage, doing acrobatic poses, and commanding the band while singing those huge notes. Thanks for this.

    Thank you for acknowledging her amazing talent Cyndi Lauper truly is one of the greatest artist in the industry whos also very underrated because of her style her look her persona took over the talent but so you know she studied voice with the amazing Katie Agresta shes the women who shaped and built the voice even still 2024 she still studying with Katie im actually great friends with her voice couch we recently went to the Cyndi concert at Madison NYC a must see Concert and will be her last arena tour so she says at 71 and still has a voice on her i think its a smart move go away strong go away big.✨⚡️👌❤
