A question: The fret knots I have learned and used over the years are more involved - a pretzel shaped knot on one end, with the other end woven through that, then the two ends pulled tight, then another simple overhand knot on top to lock it, then melted with heat. Yours is much simpler, with a smaller knot. Is your method just as easy to tighten and long lasting as the method I've mentioned? The first fret is always hardest to replace (less room to slide up in position to tighten, and thicker gut, harder to tighten the knot).
