Hello and welcome to a game of “Who’s that Pokémon?” Except with a little twist. Instead of Pokémon, you will be trying to guess a bird species based on the given silhouette. You only have to guess the species name rather than the full name, so for example, with this silhouette, you can just say duck rather than Mallard duck. But if you wanna test your luck with guessing the full name correctly...

In the arid landscapes of the Southwest, the Phainopepla stands out as a striking avian presence when it takes to the skies. The males exhibit a sleek, black appearance, complemented by a graceful crest and striking white patches on their wings that are visible during flight. The females sport a more understated gray hue. Found primarily in desert washes, these glossy birds primarily feed on mi...

10 Birds That Sound Like Aliens
มุมมอง 2.6K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
In 2012, a NASA spacecraft made the clearest record yet of choruses of noise in the Earth’s magnetosphere. The chirps and whoops were captured by one of NASA’s two launched Radiation Belt Storm Probes, whose mission was to understand space weather to a greater extent. Sometime after, Craig Kletzing, the experiment principal investigator, joked that his wife calls it alien birds. Thanks for the ...

Only the sharpest of eyes catch sight of an American Bittern. This streaky, brown and buff heron can materialize among the reeds, and disappear as quickly. These stealthy carnivores stand motionless amid tall marsh vegetation, or patiently stalk fish, frogs, and insects. It has a Nearctic distribution, breeding in Canada and the northern and central parts of the United States, and wintering in ...

#5 - All those musical shout outs, yet “Fly Famous Mockingbird” by Phish was left out. It’s an interesting phenomenon - Phish has written more songs and holds more records than any band in history, yet they are hardly ever mentioned.
Love the footage. What a cool bird. Someone said, „Water in bird form“, and I love that ❤
I fucken hate this bird every day and night in my Los Angeles home this mockingbird won’t shut the fuck up and it’s super loud my mom boyfriend shot one down and the next day another popped up even more loud and annoying and is crazy because even now that I’m typing this comment a mockingbird just started chirping wtf what a coincidence
Jejejejeje is music for us eairs😊
The mockingbird I have outside my house. Sounds like a wore out fan belt on a vehicle.😂
Thanks for the info! I just saw my 1st screech owl with fledglings this morning!❤
Loving these videos so much!
Thank you this is really helpful for a new mockingbird adopter.
hello, I loved this video, can u make a video abt laughing gulls? if You u cant that's ok!
I would love to make a video about laughing gulls! I'll try to get some footage over them asap and when the video is made I'll credit your suggestion :))
@@J_Birds thank u very much!
Eastern Bluebird is on top of the little cute house and it is singing
I was waiting to hear The Sound they make Lol
I recently made friends with a mockingbird. She (or he) stood at my empty tray feeder waiting for me to put food out. I had stopped feeding for a short while to deal with the squirrelies. So I went ahead and filled it. She or he proceeded to eat. Then I noticed one or the other hanging out on the electric wires above the alley. They were apparently helicoptering about. Then in my Jasmine bush where I was pulling weeds I found it...a nest with 1 newborn. Sooo cute! I looked at it and went on with my chores. I speak a lot to my poochies and kitties so birds are no different. They were tolerant of me helicoptering the baby. I took a look a couple times a day and talked to it. Then one day it was gone! Broke my heart! So I left the nest alone and maybe one day it will be used again. I am amazed at the nest construction. But today the Mockingbird(s) showed up again on the electric wires. Am crossing fingers.
About 3 years ago maybe 4 a pair appeared here in SC about 60 miles from the coast, on a small river Lynches river... inland about 8 miles outside of Florence SC I've lived here for 27 years. I'm an avid bird watcher and photographer. I started to pay close attention when I noticed the breeding nesting pair as the male fed the female ... Since that afternoon I've observed the return of 1 or more nesting pairs to my area. They are hear now showing up about 2 to 3 months ago.. it's early June 2024 now.
I really enjoyed learning about the Limpkin.
I'm so glad!
Thank you for the education, as a self proclaimed intermediate birder. I learned to rule out in a as they might be a MD juvy
I have discovered that there are several pairs around my house.
Our feathered couple at our balcony will have two little ones soon. I cannot wait! I indeed checked the eggs with light. All fine. Me and my son feed them twice a day. It's interesting to watch them take turn at the eggs. He scares enimies away while she is eating. They know us well and didn't fly away. I am so excited for the babies. Doves and pigeons are smarter than some humans.. 🕊️
love the logo 🔥
Thank you sm!!

Two Saints vid coming out soon too👀
I really enjoyed this. The narrative and photography were very well done. And as always informative. Thank you
You are too kind! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice comment :))
I have mocking birds and a pair of peregrine falcons in my neighborhood. I put nuts out for the mockingbirds and sparrows and the falcons catch the invasive collared doves that I often find annoying.
Those are some great birds! I bet you’ve seen them do their record breaking dives 🤩
Nice! 😊 I love the shot of the Mockingbird with the two Caracaras at the end. 🥰 Thanks for sharing! 🤗❤🐦
Haha I’m glad you enjoyed! It’s good to see another comment from you :)
Thank you for another banger 😊

Wow you did so good! Thank you sharing as well I’m glad you enjoyed. Also, I’m a birds and ghibli fan as well! 🤩🤩
@@J_Birds Thanks! ☺️ Also, you’re a Ghibli fan, too? Wow, nice! 😃😁😊 I went to see “Castle In The Sky”, my #1 favorite Ghibli film at the theaters with my twin sister and a friend with his partner at the theater almost two weeks ago. What’s your favorite Ghibli film? 🙂
Yes! My favorite movie is Howl's Moving Castle. I'm so glad you got to share that experience with your twin sister and friends! :)))
@@J_Birds I’m glad I got to experience it, too! By the way, I love “Howl’s Moving Castle”, too! That’s my 2nd favorite Ghibli film! The first Ghibli film I ever watched was “Spirited Away”, and my twin sister and I would watch it a lot when we were kids. But, as an adult, the film that really got me into Ghibli was “Howl’s Moving Castle”. After that, I was hooked, and I have watched every single movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki, except for “Lupin the III: Castle Of Cagliostro”, which is his first-ever, but most obscure film compared to the rest of his filmography. Now, I’m determined to watch most of the other films in the Ghibli library. 🙂
Magnificent Frigatebirds! I love these birds! 🥰
They really are something else aren’t they!
Genial! Gracias por compartir 👍👋.
Great video! Our first (and only!) Phainopepla sighting in Northern California a memorable one. Such an amazing bird! New subscriber here ✨
Great video! I have dozens of these birds in my own backyard and was surprised to realize how much I still didn't know about them. This was a relaxing way to learn more. The closing scene is a juvenile with his parents, right?
Yes! The juveniles have a scaly pattern similar to that of the Inca Dove. Thank you for watching so far into the video!! :))
@@J_Birds I just learned about the juvenile "scales" a couple of weeks ago. I'm keeping a close eye out for it as I watch my own doves!
excellent stuff as expected, thanks for the new vid !
You are too kind, thank you for watching!

i love the sound of these guys, we have lots of different birds in our yard and a mockingbird was particularly loud last night
Growing up, I always wanted to be an Ornithologist but took a different career. However my love for birds never fades. It’s great to see videos like this! Please continue to share great and very informative content!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm also exploring a different career path, but in my free time, I keep my passion for birds alive through these videos. I hope you can do something similar, so your love for birds never fades! :))

Good job. Shrikes and Road Runners are pretty friendly also. I am most impressed with the falcons here in West Texas as well as the Golden Eagles.
