If you were a Superhero, what’s your Limitation?
I am in this awesome phase of parenting where my kid loves Marvel and superheroes, and wants to watch all the different stories. It is so cool. We’ve been listening to little snippets that explore the different human superpowers that makes one a superhero. The first time I heard this, I remember how I went, “Holy crap!” Because a lot of times we just let our minds wander, and one of the questions that my kids will ask me is, “Alright Dad, if you could have any superpower what would it be?” We try to come up with fun stuff. One of the cool things is to give ourselves permission to be kids again and let our minds wander and imagine. This was a saying that my daughter said, and it caught me off guard. I remember thinking this is so profound for a kid. “A superhero without any limitations is not a superhero at all.” Then we started thinking what is everyone’s limitation? There is a way to defeat every single superhero. For ex., it was Kryptonite for Superman. We started going down this wormhole. There was a time when there was no Kryptonite for Superman. He was a superhero with no limitations and it flopped. He had no weakness so there was no way for him to come out of the battle that would keep you on the edge of the seat.
In these videos I always think how can I apply this to myself so I can make my life better? I remember wanting to be a superhero as a kid, so I could save myself. We all have traumatic stories from our past. We tend to compare ourselves to the superhero with limitations. We hold ourselves to our ideal, our perfect person, and then we get so frustrated, hurt or angry when we make mistakes or fail, when we experience our own limitations. Because that causes so much pain, we do the best that we can think of, like sedating or numbing out, so we no longer feel the pain. And then it perpetuates the cycle. Using this analogy, even the coolest superheroes, they all have limitations, but when I look at my limitations, I judge myself, I think less of myself and then that perpetuates the pain. I create the pain and it feels real.
So part of this whole experience of learning how to become so much freer than our current limitations, and expanding to honor my limitations. What if instead of denying them, I accepted them? What if I were to partner with them, to forgive them, to love them? That’s the part that was so foreign to me for the longest time. As we learn to live with these limitations, they are no longer judgments, they are no longer trying to hide or conceal, and we learn to live with it. Going back to the superheroes, that’s where they gain their strength, understand their limitation and even though there is a limitation where they could be beat, they overcome all odds and then go back to save the day. I don’t know where you are in your superhero story, I don’t want to make it cheesy, but it’s so cool when you look at all the different facets. We can learn how to enjoy the defeats and not really tie ourselves to the outcome of successes. This is how you truly learn to live life and enjoy it regardless of whatever is thrown at you. Even if you have limitations, you can be your superhero. Stay in the fight and you can become better and better.

The TOP Reason why People Relapse
มุมมอง 519 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
The number 1 reason why people relapse in recovery is because of this. They say that they lack purpose. If they had clarity about the meaning of their life, the direction of their life, then they would find something bigger and greater than themselves that leads to a completely different place. So this is why one of the main things that we do is we help individuals find their purpose and this g...
Stop Stealing Other People’s Problems

I always enjoy deep conversations with other people. It’s so funny because I used to like surface level conversations because I didn’t not know how to deal with it, so I would keep the facade up, keep the lie going. Once the change started, now I don’t have room in my life for surface. I want to get to the juicy stuff, the deep stuff, and connect with the person spiritually, mentally and emotio...

You wouldn’t be doing this if you didn’t make money off of it.
Need that right now.👍🏿👍🏿. Thank you..
Oh, you meant mental addiction. I thought you meant a physical addiction for a sec and I had to pause for a moment. Having an addiction to a drug is not fun, even if it was medically prescribed.
Thank you.
Just sent my son there love your perspective
Mark anyway we can chat?
So true
I like the energy you have for sobriety. Addicts need more people like you and the energy you have in their lives. I am a normie however, my whole life I have seen addiction take lives( family members, friends and loved ones) Thank you for your videos
It's not :/
I was the mud pie eating champion of my neighborhood as a small kid and NEVER got so much as a cold. I would eat things I dropped on the ground all of the time. I never even got the sniffles during covid and I never missed a day of work without even the first jab. You can definitely build your immune system up.
When did you film this?

I don’t remember where I heard it but , being wise and being smart are 2 different things! God bless hope everyone is having a wonderful day !
No you don't need to relive it. Best bit of advice I was given years ago was, 'Get over it, get on with your life, just reserve the right to be a bit pissed off about it from time to time! Works for me!
The healing is accepting the pain as part of life and letting go of the suffering. Easier said than done though. Took me 20 years of emotional work.
@HitokiriDeDo yes, it's hard to accept that it's part of your life. It takes time. And I hope your hard work has paid off.
The key trick is, taking a step back, looking at the big picture. Every angle, every perception, every scenario. Most people cant see more than 10 feet in front of them
You never tell us how to do that, but if i could , people would call me Mr Cool😂
Great video, a lot of people in my generation and just in general should see this and really take it in. Also, side note, you remind me of rob dyrdek
Thank you Lucifer!
Agree
My dad has never said any of these things to me in my 29 years
I learnt that this year . . . Coming out of longstanding abusive relationships with a narc husband and toxic work environment led by a narc boss . I opted out n have lost a lot of friends and I aint backing down . . . Opportunities are opening up for me and I am goad that I don't have to deal with other people's drama . . .

Bro I just live in cum lmao
Your are correct it is after a hardship or a struggle we get these chances but it also brings about a choice… we have to choose to embrace what we have been thru and let that seep in and the we have the next choice to make.. we can choose to utilize what we have been thru to help others and grow , then it works like a trampoline and we get to use what we learned to help people, in some manner. The other option is that we can choose to refuse what we have been thru. Even tho it showed us strengths we didn’t even know we had. If we refuse we either get that lesson again but perhaps in a slightly different way. That means also that we don’t see our own strengths but rather use the fear as a paint that we then use to paint our self into a corner, thus we make our world smaller and smaller
What about when to much struggle is whats holding you down and sedation is the only thing getting you by until you can leave. Nobody wants to struggle suffer we just wanna be told we did a job or did good by someone and when you cant do that or get that what do you have? A void that gets filled through sedation until something more fulfilling comes around. The problem is the sedation becomes the fulfilment you thought you were looking for and everything else suffers.
Live your best life by being grateful wherever you’re at, knowing that things will continue to change, and to not live in fear or judgment.
