Lovely Velocepede! First year of the swinging arm frame, too!
Hi there do you perhaps have more videos on this I have a McCormick international 523 with a two farrow plough and I am struggling to get the right settings
This was my father on the tractor and neither of us are have much expertise with ploughing. I think the boards and points are fairly new on the plough which helps, and they are made for shallow ploughing as we haven’t got much depth of topsoil on our fields. The ground conditions on this field weren’t ideal-very dry and hard. We just try and get the plough looking level on the yard before we start and then make adjustments as we go along.
Mine ticks over and doesn't have a "child-slicer" front number plate!!!!
Sounds spot on and pulls well with two up. Fascinated about the 1933 500 as velos only made 350 machines in 33. I think the MSS 500 came out in 35.
I’m sure you’re probably right about the older girder fork Velocette I mentioned. I’ll check on that with Wayne. That bike should be up and running soon, so if I get a video of it on to youtube, I’ll make sure the description is correct. Thanks
I've always loved Velocettes
Mine always start the first 🥇🥇😅😊😊
What Velocette is this? MAC 350, MSS 500, Venom 500? Bit worried seeing the cigarette dangling near the petrol tank ;-)
It’s a 1953 MSS 500. Harry also left a 1935 Velocette 500 and six other running, but unrestored classics.
@arweltom cool. I am going to purchase a Velo shortly, likely a late model MSS or maybe a Venom. Still trying to make up my mind as which is best for me.
Had the speedtriple shame they have plastic tanks
I liked the way you beat it into submission! Remarkably I have the exact same bike and go through the same drill, dodgy, headlamp, and all. They are such wonderful machines the Velocette.
I’m glad you liked the video. Harry died last year aged 92, and now his daughter and son in law have the bike. Harry used the bike as his daily transport to work all year round whatever the weather was.
@@arweltom do you have any videos of Harry? It would be cool to see him, especially after hearing that little bit about his tenacity.
I’m afraid there’s nothing in the way of video of Harry riding because he stopped riding when he was in his early eighties and that was before we carried phones around to video everything! He left another seven nice classics though, including a 1933 Velocette 500.
Why you using clutch changing up your loosing time mate
Thanks. I’ve realised that now.
Love that sounds and looks smooth
Thanks, this was one of Sophie’ s first track days. She got faster and came third in a club championship a couple of years later
I've had all different sports bikes over the years, but my current 955i has by far the most intoxicating engine sound exactly like yours, sublime.
Yes, there’s nothing like red - lining one of these through the gears
Llofrudd cwningen!!!!!
Llofrudd cwningen!!!!
Cwnhingod mass murderer
Thanks for this vid! True inspiration to me.
Glad you like it. The bike’s way too big and powerful for a rider of my standard on a track as tight and twisty as Cadwell. Thanks
I couldnt put up with the engine rattle at idle...
Se puder se inscreve tb no meu canal, me inscrevi no seu abraços
Its a bit lot intimidating to see this bike open up how it should. I am working on getting my '99 speed triple 955i running and getting a feel for it
This bike was set up and tuned to race in the Thundersprint super naked championship. Cadwell was a bit too tight and twisty for a bike this heavy and a rider of my limited ability. I've had it going much better round tracks I'm more familiar with like Anglesey and Oulton. Good luck with yours, the 955's are great bikes and I'm sure you'll love it.
@@arweltom thanks. Its a great looking bike. Sounds superb. I can only imagine its sound up close in person
All things beautiful
Love my 2002 speed triple. Lack of traction controls has gotten me into some shaky moments but I love it just the same.
Little bit of clutch slip, mine does that too. My thoughts, carry a wee bit more entry speed and she will remain stable through the corners. The standard exhaust collector box grounds out early in right handlers so it does help to hang off, keeping the bike a bit more upright and using your weight to shift centre of gravity and letting the bike turn. Yours sounds superb and that’s a great video👍
that exhaust sounds horrible
Get a life dickhead
eskimo427 That exhaust sounds like a Hinckley triple breathing freely. It’s a glorious sound, just fired mine up and out for a run somewhere isolated tomorrow.
*said NO ONE*
@@arweltom as the owner of Daytona 955 and Tiger 1050 I think your bike sounds like a bag of nails. If you don't like negative responses to your posts I suggest you don't post. For comparison, I have an Arrow exhaust on my 1050 and I also think that sounds rubbish too.
@@eskimo427 Reel it in snow boy - it's a recording of a track day not a sound studio !
Nice Speed!
Thanks
Thank for posting this excellent video! My favorite track and a close copy of my bike! Just finished resurrecting my 955. The 1998 Daytona stopped running 3 years ago, and this fall I bought a running 2001 Speed Triple and put the running parts in my modified chassis*. I missed that sound badly, but not anymore !!! I believe you encouraged me to get out on a trackday even though I'm no Leon Haslam and go have some fun! * people.oregonstate.edu/~dowdjo/955-Thumbs/9o.html
Glad you enjoyed the video, I just wish I could have done the bike and the track more justice! Nice job you've done on your Triumphs, my 955 was built as a race bike from new and raced in the Thunder Sport Championship(super naked class). The engine is modified to about 150bhp and has upgraded suspension. I've also got a 1997 Daytona 1200 and a 1994 Speed Triple th-cam.com/video/Vmw7Vu1a1X4/w-d-xo.html
cool video! rode there myself a couple of times, nice to see the track again. bike sounds lovely!!
Thanks, the bikes an absolute pleasure to ride, but was a bit of a handful round Cadwell for someone of my limited ability!
Less Bike Lean--More Body Lean will get you through corners faster. I know, I have a '01 Speedie and practice a curvy road every weekend to improve my skills.
Try clutchless shifts going up.
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
Long gears you got there. For a short circuit i think you need to go one tooth down on front spocket or three up on the rear. Be ready for wheelies though. Engine sounds mighty - just sounds like the long gears not suited to that track.
Thanks, I'm sure you're right about the gearing, I felt like I was struggling all day! I usually ride at Anglesey and Oulton and it's an absolute pleasure to ride on those tracks.
what exhaust did you have on this bike?
The exhaust is a stainless steel 3-1 made by MHP Exhausts. It was on the bike when I bought it so I've not dealt with them personally, but I can definitely say that it's a top-notch quality exhaust. The bike is set up to run a bit rich, and on the over-run it sounds like a shotgun going off and it shoots out two foot long flames.
Man i need to get my 955 out on a track. I love that bike
That's my girl ! the moles are next !!!
What happened? I remember seeing you in the paddock that day.
lawmand Electrical problem. Not sure yet why it's cutting out. First time I've ridden at Cadwell and I really enjoyed it, just not too keen on the 500 mile round trip to get there!CheersArwel
arweltom Credit to you, it's a great track hope you get the bike running well again. I recently sold my T595, it was a very fast bike. I was running a little white SV650 at Cadwell the day you were there, love it. You see my bike in front of the red van about 15 seconds in as you ride to the paddock.
Speed Triple...
The original Speed Tripe....nothing like em...hardcore bikes... Classics!!
Thanks, we're all looking forward to it
Jay Devine at 4:10... Fast as ever! Next event is on the 13th & 14th April guys!
Nice riding!!
sell the PW and get him an R1
The little kid on the PW50 was lapping faster than him. And he flaps his knees about whenever he he thinks he's just about to fall off.
have a look at RAF Valley Oct 2012 last session at 10.35 I reckon that's probably you as well.
Yeh, really don't know what he was doing riding in the fast group. Next time he should ride in 'novice' with Sophie and Rach.
yes. fast group
.... this is the fast group?
