​@@JonnyPlaysLeague done watching now. quite refreshing to see new player trying to learn this old ass game. hehe you did some decent job that game. even tho you didnt know the matchup, you could figure out most of it while laning. while singed usually is seen at top and karthus in jungle, they might screwed up swapping champs. id like to give you a few things for your next games if you dont mind, else just skip reading it ^^. like you already noticed, garens laning phase is way healthier than karthus. with garens passive and dorans shield, you can go for bad trades and still win lane in long run, because karthus lacks sustain and mobility. generally karthus player at lower ranks cannot use their E properly and run out of mana pretty quick. you zoned karthus from lasthitting quite often, but he barely missed any exp. if you improve your positioning and spacing, then you can make way more opportunities for trades and kill-setups. like when your minions get low (especially canon), enemy will try not to miss that. in those moments they are vulnerable to get punished. 9:40 was a great example on when you could hold the wave near your turret and zone karthus both from gold and exp (even tho you were able to kill him shortly after 😂) if he moves up -> you punish and maybe kill if he recalls, then tower will get most/all of his minions. by how karthus played his lane, you could see him checking his allied lanes for a ult many times. when your teammates are low, try to to stay close to karthus and chase if needed. you can cancel his ult-channel very easy with your Q and get out without any trouble. even if he´s hiding under his turret. this works the same with teleport. if you know whats happening on the rest of the map, you can stop karthus from impacting his allies and negate most of his global pressure. dont sell your doran shield this early. try to keep it as long as possible but only as long as needed. for a full item or an important item powerspike, it might be worth, but for components like zeal it´s definetely not. i liked how you made thoughts about upcoming items, even considering what type of threats may occur after laning phase. like you said, syndra and karthus ult´s are no skillshots that can be missed. therefore magic resistence was neccessary to protect your shutdown and avoid a possible comeback on an enemy carry. it may was your personal preference going force of nature next, but i guess a hexdrinker/maw would be the better choice there. the shield is kinda hidden, also player in lower ranks dont check opponents items often enough, which leads to mistakes like overextending or miscalculating a killing blow. anyway. ill may check out more of your content sometime for sure but i most likely wont comment like this😂. sorry for that. i usually hate backseating. keep up the great work and stay positive. i hope you will have fun with this game for many years and wish your channel grow ♥♥

I think he's objectively one of the higher risk enemies as he can punish heavily any mistake but garen has good tools to neutrilize the matchup.

The main blueprint against tanks is to get tiamat early and look for proxy when enemy jungler is away, keep your farm up and when you get to the mid game you are much better at shove and move than the tank is. For items I would go stride into mortal reminder for the armor reduction but remember you don't need to kill enemy toplaner to do your job, keep your farm up and set up objectives in midgame with shove and move.

@@JonnyPlaysLeague What I did notice was a minor thing you could do to help your jungler and yourself. 13:07 Mundo goes into the river placing a ward; you also have one there, so his ward is visible for you for a few seconds. When you have these kinds of situations, just ping the ward with a normal ping; it will mark the ward for you, showing how long it will last, and give your jungler a marking when he's able to gank without the enemy knowing.
