Legit as a kid I played the party mode more then the main game😭😭 I got stuck on the first few stages and never progressed (plus I played it with my siblings and was one of the few things they agreed to) though I’m finally getting close to beating it now! Just gotta get one last world ring and beat the final boss

Play this with my little brother on the wii, multiple times my little brother actually eventually ended up playing the game all the way through in the original story mode. But we still say to this day that the multiplayer mode in secret range is unironically, the best aspect of that game.

Sonic shuffle is better.

Sega needs to make a new party-themed Sonic game akin to the Mario Party series and Sonic Shuffle. I want this party game to have board game and mini-game elements like those games did. If the game were a direct sequel to Shuffle, I'd like for it to have the same gameplay; Sonic and his friends can still draw cards to move across the board and battle enemies, can move in any direction instead of being limited to a straight path with the occasional fork in the road, can play mini-games by landing on Event spaces, the goal of the game being to collect seven gems, the game ending when all seven are collected, and the player with the most gems when the game ends winning. Also, each character could have their own unique movement and battle abilities so that they don't feel all the same like the Mario Party characters. However, it could definitely benefit from a few things; improved AI (less likely to steal your best cards even when they already have the exact same kind), new playable characters (including Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Blaze, and Silver), and elements more in line with the Sonic franchise; the seven Chaos Emeralds could be the seven gems Sonic and his friends are after, the enemies could be Dr. Eggman's robots, and the boards could be actual stages from the Sonic games (including Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Casino Night).

To unlock every thing for this mode, you need to unlock the skill that lets you homing attack on fire souls which is around lv35. Fun fact: the strategy guide for this game directs the player give themself an unfair advantage by putting “bad” batteries in the other controllers!

It’s a shame that minigames are locked behind single player

Funny how the mini-games, and only the mini-games in Secret Rings, are playable with a GameCube controller. It's not mentioned anywhere, not even in the game manual.

God I remember the party mode! My brother and I played tf out of it HARD

13:32 this game used to scare me when I was younger, because one of the tiles had a cursed image of sonic's eye socket replaced with the majin face. That thing would haunt me man.

I will not accept the constant slander of the main mode. Yes the party mode was awesome, my family didn't have mario party so this was what we had, but I played through all the story myself as a kid. And god did I have fun with it. It isn't the 'best' sonic game, but it was still a fun time. The on rail nature means the gameplay is more about your reaction times and noticing anywhere you can find an alternate pathway, which do exist. The missions also added variety to the small level pool. The excitement whenever I beat a mission and more unlocked was always such a rush. Like 'oh boy I wonder what I got this time!' To me, unlocking the party game features was just the icing on top. Game was good. Stop slandering it people. Instead of playing it like a game analyst just, play it casually. Take your time. Level up a bit. Get better skills. It's a fun time.

It's about time someone talked about this game's GOATed multiplayer.

I grew up with this game and recently went back to 100% it and unlock everything. Kinda wasn't worth it but it made me appreciate the main game so much more

There is actually more than 5 Given that both teams have them all and the extra racers all have access. It's stated in story to be 5 but it doesn't really make sense in story
