Absolutely love this, I train my rats and am always happy to see others show how trainable small pets can be! I do sense some hesitation before the hoop jump - guessing that was a problem spot that you had to reward a lot in.

Do you have any tips? I might do this. Might be getting a hamster soon! YAY

WOW I was really entertained watching your Video. I like your imagination Betty, and your ability to train Sebastian. I think the sunflower reward would tempt me if I were a little Hamster. Really sorry to hear Sebastian has passed away, but I think he will be having fun teaching all the other little Hamster's in Heaven. I am a bit of an inventor myself, and you have given me some idea's about an adventure playground I am going to try to make. I will show my results on Facebook. I am John Chennells. Thank you for putting up this video. :D I feel very inspired and excited to try this with my hamster :) His name is Handsome. :) It looks like fun for both! I hope u don't mind if I use some of your equipment idea's :) The layout looks great btw!! And very happy feeling with all the colors, too bad that hamsters are color blind, lol. Oh well I am sure it still gave off a good feel. ;) I will post my video as a response to this one when I get him trained. :) thanks again!

AWWWWW your hamster was SO cute!!! I am sorry he is gone now. Looks like he had a great and loving owner :) I was always attracted to teddy bear hamsters..I had one when I was younger. I just recently got another one :D this time he is grey and white! (My last one was a creamy beige) But at the pet store my friend was telling me a lot of ppl like the dwarf hamsters, and to get one of those instead, but they hadn't yet grown on me, even after watching some videos. But now they have! :D hahaha Awe

I'm wondring if you can help! I have a syrian hamster. He's gotten used to my hand in the cage, he'll take food from me if I put it at the end of my fingers, he'll let me pet him (if he's eating), and he never bites. But if I put food further up my hand, he ignores it, and if I try to hold him, he gets scared and runs away to hide. Should I wait for him to naturally walk into my hand to be held so I don't scare him? Or should I try to hold him even if he's scared, so that he'll get used to me?

He was only around 2 weeks old when I had started to train him. =) It took only 1 month to train(only on weekdays). He was free on weekends as a human! LOL

I know =) The reason we didn't pick him up was that he would stop walking to clean himself. Then, we tried not to touch him during the agility training
