Yes, the Algarve gets very little rain during the summer months. Best to visit after the winter rains.

Hi Alexandra, there are a lot of companies offering the services running from the different marinas if you want to take a boat and then take a kayak which they transport on the boat to just outside the caves. We opted for a kayak from the Benagil beach. We can send you more info on the companies if you need them.

@@atzengruber What a lovely thing to do. I would highly recommend checking out the whole area (Algarve) to see what suites you. Everyones needs are different - budget, lifestyle etc. I thought that the local community in VRSA were overwhelmingly kind/polite/helpful. It was great to see in the summer months the place come alive with entertainment, exhibitions etc. We joined the throngs who walk each morning between VRSA to Monte Gordo and back - it was paradise - and a cheeky coffee to top off a perfect start to the day. Good luck with your endeavours 🙂

@@marcusrowe2528 Friends of mine had their own house built here three years ago in Monte Francisco and while there I was able to drive around a bit ( Alcoutim, Altura, VRSA, Ayamonte, Castro Marim) . At the age of 64 that would be a great area to retire.
