Hi my name is Paul..I've always had a passion for vintage appliances since childhood. I always remember sitting in front of Mums Hoover Keymatic fascinated as it progressed through the program and it went from there.
I'll be uploading more videos of my collection in due course..

Hoovermatic Twin Tub Part 2

Washing water is heated to 80°C washing towels, Tea Towels and Flannels etc. Then Spun and then put into Hoover Electron for 3 rinses and 1100 Spin. This can be followed by putting in your dark clothing.

Started the machine at 48°C for light mixed colours washed approximately 3 minutes then spun out and rinsed separately in the Hoover Electron 1100. Temp then increased to 80°C Please see Part 2.

Drying a small load for 20 minutes
In my experience, the agitator on the Hoovermatics is extremely damaging to garments! Socks need to be put into a mesh laundry bag or it will tear them to shreds, especially the threads of any patterns or logos (I suppose you could just not turn them inside out in the wash, but that's pretty gross and they'll still get stretched and ruined somewhat in these machines). But you can't put everything into a laundry bag. With a full load only items touching the agitator will suffer damage, but try washing only a few small items and the agitator just pulls them in and ruins them. I used mine to wash a new face flannel the other day and it now has permanent lines on it, as well as loose threads. Completely overrated machines and I can't understand why they were so popular for so long. The Hotpoint Supermatics are somewhat more gentle but even their 'Spiraclean' agitator scrapes bits of material off the articles which then get dumped into the gimmicky 'fluff' filter tray! With all the extra work involved in using a twin tub, I think it's just not worth it.

Awesome video. Quite envious of you, been after this exact machine for about 30 years now, it was the electricity boards exclusive model because it had the program guide on the soap drawer, the delay timer, and the colour of the fascia panel, yours looks immaculate and well looked after, if you ever decide to sell it let me know I’d be more than happy to buy it from you regards from a sunny ( for the time being anyway ) Eastbourne

It's lovely there..I'd happily swap it for a Hoover Electron De Luxe 1100 A3190 or Hoover Electronic 1100 A3110 .. But I do appreciate what I have even if it's a small collection.. I've been an enthusiast since childhood when I would spend hours in front of Mums Hoover Keymatic and then Hoover Electronic 1100 .. 😊
Memories of my grandmothers cred debonair spinner! hers was in a square cabinet tho so perhaps it was the autopump version? It lived in the nook under the stairs I can't recall ever seeing her use it as she had a Servis Supertwin by then 🙂 We've got a brown version with orange lid release button we got from an english lady who moved over to Aus, its fantastic! Lovely machine. I have the D6060 in my collection to match the A3172. I mended one of these dryers for a customer a few years ago, supplied and fitted new drum runners

Great videos these Hoover Washers are so much better than the new models. I remember Programme K was Delicates 40 on my Old Hoover Logic 1300E. It was always my favourite wash Programme when I was a child. I don't suppose you have that particular model in your collection of Washers?

@@philforest4747 Childhood memories 😊 Yes I did the same.. Would be fascinated..Who needed TV 🤣 Trying to think of the Miele washing machine in our Home Economics Dept when I was at Upper School.. Can't remember the model but the powder compartment was on the top with like a metal flap. It had 3 dials..one was the programmer the other was the type of fabric like cotton, delicate etc and think the other was the temperature with some buttons.. It was always going as Home Economics had 3 departments.. 😊
@@manomuncher1 there are a lot of videos on TH-cam of the W421. The machine you’re describing is a later model. Still a great machine though. Miele are a lot do good today. Can you do a video of your hoovermatic? Cheers

@@markholland9607 Hoover machines of that era were like work horses.. They just got on with it..Not like the plastic things of today..My Mum's first washing machine was a Hoover Keymatic.. That's when my fascination in washing machines started at a very young age 😊

Just found your channel, love your videos so far :). Love this model, a very rare electricity board exclusive with the delay timer. The powder button broke on my A3260, so I always pull the drawer out manually, too 😊

I think the electron doesn't have the Creaseguard at the end, it just stops at 0. Also think the drum only goes one direction.. There's a video of a vintage Hoover dryer deluxe D6150 on TH-cam (tim 100) has on.😊
@@manomuncher1 yes though actually that electron dryer does have the crease guard phase at the end and does reverse action. As of the other video. I know the Hoover D6510 dryer is uni directional. I have seen the video of it. Also my godparents had a hoover dryer which was I think a D6150 single direction.
