Camino de Santiago Summer Packing List (Camino Frances)
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In June 2022 I walked the Camino Frances from SJPDP to Santiago de Compostela. This video covers in depth all the gear I carried and why I choose to carry what I did. All the gear I used with the exception of the backpack and shoes were items I already owned. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Itemized packing list with the weight and quantity of each item (see description for ...

This is the real reason you guys make the Camino, we know that 😂 15:24
It's Gonzalez. Gonzales simply doesn't exist in Spanish 12:42
It's meseta 5:07
What camera did you use?
@@Getoverit-001 I used my iPhone 13
@@LowGearHiker what photo editing software did you use?
This dude's an internet troll. I see him everywhere trolling. BAD VIBES smh!
What brand are your long pants.
Where is your packing list? And which Osprey bag is yours?
Here is my packing list it has a detailed list of the things I used of my Caminos lighterpack.com/r/9eman2 Buen Camino!
Hey bomb tech, thanks for the tips! B3-4 here. Someone that I can relate to. 'Round the world twice, blown up thrice, still here, and won't quit!
If you get bedbugs, don't wash your sleeping bag.... Freeze it 😜👍
How did you bring your bag to the plain? Did you put it in to check in? Or you took it as carry on somehow?
I checked my back pack because i had other luggage that I carried on and I brought my trekking poles. I placed my backpack into a travel duffle bag.
A man after my own heart: almost all black clothing. lol
For me I prefer a more light weight one.
how about using a luggage with a trolley rather than back pack ?
there are people that do that. if it works for you its a great option.
am 5’2 male weight 136 lbs how much weight in back pack would you recommend ? thanks i hate carrying heavy loads am afraid i’ll start throwing one piece at a time along the walk .
So many variables, but for the Camino I would gather everything you want to take then weigh it. People recommend no more than 10 %-20% of your body weight. At 136lbs that's 13.6 - 27.2 lbs. now if you are packing for the summer season and use efficient layers you should be under 15lbs easily. My pack of this summer on the del Norte weighed 18lbs without water and i packed alot of extras (fan, electric razor, battery pack...). here is my packing list lighterpack.com/r/ywjjo4 I also brought extra clothes because it hated wearing the same thing in every picture! Thats just me. I hope this helps. Oh, don't sacrifice comfort for weight on your backpack. Your going to wear it every day for 6-10 hours and it needs to be comfortable!
Congratulations. Maybe the best video / presentation of the Camino, I saw. Great images and lively put together. I just came back from the Camino and you very much nailed it. Big Kudos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks! 👍
Thank you very much for this extremely helpful video. I appreciate how much you emphasize how to protect yourself from sunburn, and how you present so thoughtfully. Hope all goes well this summer. Buen Camino!
Oh wow! You really touched me with your amazing photos and videos of the camino. I walked the camino just lately this april 2023 and the experiences i had were so great! Thank you for the great memories!! 🥲😍🤗
well done!!!!! A true work of art..... BON CAMINO !
Which pack from Zpacks did you use? I have the Nero 38 that I section walked the camino with.
I used the Osprey Kestrel 38. I used the Zpacks multi-pack as a chest pack.
Hi, thanks again for sharing. I'm wondering if your backpack needed to be checked in when you flew to different airports in Europe. I'm planning on walking the Camino Frances in June. Thank you.
I did check my back pack because I brought my trekking poles and an umbrella. I also had another bag because I stayed in Barcelona prior to my Camino. Ill be walking the del Norte in june and the Portuguese in July. Buen Camino!
I'm walking Camino Frances at the end of May and June. What was the weather like? How long did it take you to complete the walk? Thx
The weather was nice. Cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoon. There was a heatwave for about a week. It can get pretty cool towards the last section near Sarria. There were only 3 days of rain but not bad. I walked 34 days with one day of rest in Leon.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us. I have newer walked any camino, and probably never will. I'm still hoping that one day, maybe .... You are an extremely skilled photographer and have higher quality photos and videos than anyone else who has praised this camino. I believe you have provided an experience that is as close as I can get, without doing the camino. I really appreciate all the work you have done to bring this to us. I will watch these videos over and over again!
.... and again 🙂
What month
beautifuly captured, obrigado
Did you take your back-pack as carry-on when you traveled there? If so, how did you get your trekking poles there?
I checked my backpack and my poles. Placed them in a duffle bag.
Hi those trekking poles are they allowed in hand carry item in plane ? thanks
@@jonielvillanueva20 No. Trekking poles in the U.S. and Spain must be checked.
My one regret was I didn’t get to go into the Burgos Cathedral. We were doing laundry and it closed before I got there! 😢
The Burgos Catherdal was really amazing. I didn't get to see the Catherdal at Santiago so next tiem I planning at least two days there so I can take it all in.
@@LowGearHiker oh good! You need to see the cathedral in Santiago and you should stay at the Parador!
My wife and her brother and his wife and I walked from Sarria to Santiago. Trip of a lifetime. Curious, how many days did you have rain for your trip?
We only had rain three days out of 33. I had a rain jacket and umbrella and hat worked out fine. Of course I was walking during the Summer in June.

Very Nice Video. Thank You. Hope To See More
Awesome I did it successfully in 2018
Where are the local people.. streets are bare
Usually we would leave early in the morning and not much people were around but outside of the cities and bigger towns it was not uncommon to not see many people. a lady from Madrid told me alot of people work in he bigger towns and cities and commute. Some places were very deserted. Alot of the the town seem to only exist because of the Camino and pilgrims passing through. The area is very agricultural so there aren't alot of people.
Question: I walked the Camino Frances in 2019. Heading to the Portuguese in a few months. I bought the same Zpack small pouch several years ago. But I could not figure out how to attach it to my straps on the front of my chest. I’d like to take it along this time though? Could you explain how you did it? Zpack no longer has that video on their website. Buen Camino 👣🎒💕
it's easy to attach I found this video of how to attach it to the front of your backpack... Go to 1:30 for where he attaches it. I hope this helps. Buen Camino! th-cam.com/video/_pNUVpzCDQA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing. Very informative. I have plans to do the Frances Camino in Sept 2023. First time for us so this is helpful in understanding what we need and don’t need to bring.
Hopefully it will be alot cooler in September and you may want to add a light jacket you can layer. Once we were away from the maseta and the heatwave passed it did get chilly at night. Of course I live in a warm climate so50s-60s F is cool to me. Buen Camino!
you should try Keen walking boots they are great I have 14 Caminos and no blisters.
Just amazing.....
I did 6 camino and in the summer, you need a backpack of 30 liters no more, in the winter you need a backpack of 40 liters 😉
Nice informative video! Thanks for sharing! What brand of waterproof dry bags did you use? I'm looking for lightweight and waterproof and there are so many out there. Thanks for any info you can share!
I used dry bags made by Osprey. They are lightweight and not very expensive. I bought them from REI.
Good music and too many food shots. Sounds like y’all had fun!
I met Clemens in 2019 at SJDPP again in Santiago, I also was walking Camino Frances the same time you all were walking Frances, when you finished in Santiago I was in Nàjera July 6th, your photography was Excellent !! the best I've seen I'm going back this year and will have photographic lessons before departing Australia as your's were top class thank you
I waked with Clemens on and off. He made a very good video of his Camino. Thanks for the kind words about my photography. I have to give alot of credit to my iPhone!
feet swell a size up from walking so much... that can explain the missing shoes a bigger size going missing
Loved meeting you and sharing some of experiences with you!!
Hello, hello from Gary and Sally. I see the heart shape Rick I left at the bottom!
Hi Sally! I hope you and Gary had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I was right there with you, Caminante! I left 24June2022. 💛💚💙❤
great music....who is it?
All the music is listed in the notes. I downloaded it all from Epidemic music.
It is Estella not Estrella
Yes, I corrected where I could. Thanks.
Genial. Buen Camino!.
Thanks!! I am going mid june 2023, looking forward to it🤩
Thanks for posting was an interesting watch. Seems a good set up - well though out and squared away. Cheers.
Really great photography, music and composition. I'm thoroughly enjoying your video's and the adventure. Thanks!
Agree on the pack. Must be comfortable on you. As long as it's not terribly heavy use one that's comfortable. Also, plan on visiting a Decathlon store to get extra hiking pants so just bring just what you're wearing. The Decathlon products are much more comfortable and cheaper than what you can get in REI. Same with rain poncho. You can get just about anything you need in Decathlon.
I went to a few Decathlon stores but found the selection limited. Also for me personally the sizes were too small.
@@LowGearHiker maybe you went to a small store. Find a full size store. They are usually in larger cities. I also just found out that Walmart actually sell some Decathlon brands like Forclaz and Quechua.
Thanks
