thats your fuel injector going out and starving for fuel or your timing is wayyyyy off check ur timing belt!!

That's not "Built Ford Tough" if your Mercury Lynx keeps starting and/or run that rough! Plus I don't know why the shift indicater light keeps blinking with the engine not running!

is it a small block? im putting a 289 in mine too, i got a 4 barrel for 25.00 from the guy whos pulling his 289 out of his 67 cougar, so maybe in the future ill put in a small block, make it a 302 with the 4 barrel and with dual exhaust it'll be a rod

my first car was an 84 lynx gs station wagon. no speed demon for sure but it did well on gas. i miss that car.

sounds like a ticking lifter check the valve and rockers synthetic oil would help

I have an 03 Zetec Focus. The blocks are the same on our cars. What I did was loosen the water pump pulley bolts before I removed the serp belt, so that I could get the pulley off easier. Then I had to remove the passenger side motor mount and lower the engine down just a bit. I removed the pulley easily and then the three 8mm bolts holding the h2o pump on. Be really careful reinstalling the water pump! Those threads can strip very easily. Hope this helps!
