I know Ellen has her controversies, but she genuinely has paved the way for so many LGBT people struggling to accept themselves. I remember being a young girl really struggling to fully accept that i was bisexual, especially in the homophobic town i was in. I was 10 years old and was so scared about how people would treat me if they ever found out. I found so much comfort in Ellen and seeing her speak so proudly and openly. All these years later i’ll still always be greatful for the way she helped me accept who i was. No doubt she’s helped many others as well.

My parents never fully accepted me being gay. My stepfather's just plain homophobic. He never liked me and he stole my inheritance my mother tried to leave me when she died. I'm stuck in a broken down trailerr behind her house. He remarried and wants me to leave. I was suppost to be able to live on the property for the rest of my life. He's betrayed me in so many ways yet I've known him for 45 years! He doesn't consider me family since mom passed. His whole relationship with her was phoney.

You know, I don’t agree with Ellen politically…but I remember when Ellen “came out” and I remember thinking how brave she was for doing so . I hoped it wouldn’t hurt her career because she is so talented and I know how cruel ppl can be. I am straight and I didn’t really understs I remember at the same time my cousin came out. After being with his gf Mary for 10 years…to appear “ normal “ he ended up wasting 10 years of her life and finally told her why he couldn’t marry her…. I felt just awful for both of them. Ignorance always causes pain and justifies cruel actions. Look at her now Being accused of being mean to a few quests -and not taking care of employees…after all these years she has been on and all of a sudden she is an awful person after helping thousands of ppl…and ppl all willing to believe it because of a few whiny celebrities…. I am straight and think different from her politically and I don’t believe it ..why, because I have a brain and it makes no sense..it sounds like sabotage to me …. Fortunately she has enough money she will be fine, but a great show had to end and ppl show their true colors…very sad
