    12 years later 😂 the "hole-slot-hole" in most TOPS knives is "dot-dash-dot" aka "S.O.S.".

    Same here man. Always carry a compact fixed blade as my primary, and all of my knives are crazy sharp at all times. I go nuts if any part of any edge cant push cut through newspaper from a zero start. I cant do pull through sharpeners though. They dont seem to get it where I need it to be for me. I'm all about the worksharp field, angled plate, and oil stones for my carbon steel blades. Gonna get a fixed angle system soon though. Thanks for showing this. It's nice to see a knife that's meant to work with some actual wear on it.

    So Mike, do you prefer this knife to the Iraq Jac? Have you looked at the UTE at all? I really like your videos, but better lighting would be great.

      I don't know if you've moved on, or found one. But they're all over now - Blade HQ, I believe, has them for around $130

      I got one already but thanks bro. Actually A nice knife. I have to admit i like my silent hero better but i carried my black rhino for a long time and still do. It holds a decent edge and is virtually indestructable.

    I started buying TOPS and haven't wanted anything else since. I'm picking up my fourth knife from them pretty soon which ironically is the original Commanche Hawke. The price point may be a killer for some folks but as you stated they're hard use, mean heavy knives that aren't going to fall apart on you when you truly need them.

    Move over Crocodile Dundee.This is a knife.Wow,Tops sure makes some huge ones.Won't meet my needs as it's a bit heavy(I aim to go ultra-light as a backpacker),but is quite impressive.Thanks for the review ,mvertarano.

    • @matthewadler1329
      @matthewadler1329 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty similar edge geometry, but the blade shaped are very different. Both make great hard use utility and hunting knives. These knives are small, but .19" thick at the spine with steep grinds for overall and edge durability. 1095 takes a razor sharp, yet toothy edge with very little effort, so they are gonna cut great despite the thickness at the edge, but slicing is out of the question. Splitting and prying are both totally fine. You break one of these things and I'll give you a damn trophy.

    Hey Annus8, Tops are only pricey on their site. You can find much cheaper prices elsewhere. Lots say Tops are pricey but when bought at the right spot its not that bad plus Tops are excellent quality with a huge selection unlike many other good knife brands like Esee. They do have some odd designs but that a;so doesn't make them a bad company. I like my TOPS for the same reason Mike does, they are heavy duty quality tools that can do much more than just slice.

    great review, I have the Bravo. I dont like a few things. 1st is the blade should be straight at the hilt, this would help in keeping an edge on it. 2nd is how the hell do you fit all the stuf they send you in that little pocket??. Nice extras for sure!! 3rd I would like one of TOPS Kydex sheaths with the fire starter holder for every day carry, that would make this a AA++ knife. Overall its a GREAT piece of kit .
