Sadly we still don't have most of the hinges etc, so from our end, bonnet and boot will be rested on, doors I may not even gap properly (as the company will need to take them off again straight away for the refit). I'll definitely get photos in the future when it's all complete, but who knows when that'll be!

You won’t go far wrong with an Iawata WS400 good all round gun for clear and base, just make sure it’s a 1.2 fluid tip👍🏻

A decent gun will last you a lifetime mate! My base gun is a sata 5500x, clear gun is an iwata ws400 series 2... both very specific for their intended uses... and both in excess of £600each 😬 If you want a do anything gun which will see you through solvent, clear, dg etc I'd recommend a sata 3000b hvlp with a 1.3 setup, won't break the bank with one of those but being a sata, phenomenal build quality. Very dependent on what you do and what products mate!

@@jmdetails thanks jay it's usually base and clear I be doing with solvent based.

3000b I'd be going for buddy... the other guns are too specific and you'd need 2, one for base and one for clear... the 3000 will do it all 😌 not as well as the specific guns 😂 but more than well enough! I went for years on the one gun, Kayla still paints everything with one and she's better than me so, it can be done 😂

Not at that time mate, but I believe it was/is on Jamie's list of things to reinstate

This is as finished as we got it mate, just in for paint with us then back to the owner for the build. I'll see it again someday in the future but haven't yet!

I guess because they are bodyshops, not GRP shops. It is a lot of work, and mess, to make decent moulds and ideally you need proper facilities to do it. They could farm the work out to a local GRP shop, but there is always the risk that the kit may be damaged in the process. Then there might be a copyright issue, as the original designer / manufacturer of the kit might not be happy with you copying their kit.

All just time and money I guess John, plus the very nature of fibreglass... in this case, the kit is poor, and thin... just a bit of heat on there would change the entire shape! 😂🤦‍♂️

Yeah mate! I'm going to have to complie a little before and after one with this, I get used to seeing them day to day so actually forget how they were to start with sometimes! Kev has a bit of footage of the mk4 on his channel, got no excuse not to start it myself now I guess 🙄🤣

Ahh mate, glad you got another sorted! We like red over here tbf 😏 Stud pattern wise etc, Kev is your man for that, if there are any adapters available or new hubs needed etc, he'd be able to do it. May be better off getting a different set of wheels after all is said and done though! 😬

Thanks mate!! Ahh so... for one, we class these strictly as an 'improve only' deal. Sometimes it's fairly obvious from the onset that we'll have issues... other times we go step by step and send the customer regular updates etc, basically ask how far they want to go... it's a tricky balance though!

But yes always an initial estimate subject to finding anything truely horrendous 😂

Hi mate! Thank you so much, really appreciate it! I'm afraid I can't help you with that one, I genuinely don't know it myself and had a world of problems trying to get it.... just happened to have the tiniest amount of paint left from the actual car (supplied) so I was lucky!

Allows us to get the mirrors off mate 😌 they usually have an electrical connector behind the door cards

Oh okay , makes sense. Didn't realise mirror had been removed

We chop and change a bit 😂 it was on the last 2 videos as well though I'm fairly sure! 😊 more in depth in last week's actually!

We're a Novol shop through and through mate and proud of it 😊 Different processes and products csr to car, but always Novol so we know the very first thing we use is compatible with the very last 😊
