Thanks for the feedback. I've managed a 2:06.7 on my prior set of Yokohamas. This was my first weekend out on the stickier AD09's. I wound up over braking since they were slowing me down more than I am used to, and I wasn't pushing any harder in the corners. (I know my entry into the esses is horrible even for me lol). I am signed up for Thursday's (3/21) Track Night, looking to improve on the above performance. Depending on the tires you are running I think the Mach 1 may have more front end grip. Mach 1 is lovely car, I had a 93 GT, and a 97 Cobra in the past and was cross shopping a GT350 when I bought this.

Vid of the 2:06.7 this was on V601s (280 TW), I should be able to improve now that I have 200TW tires. If you see me at the track feel free to give me a shout. @@YRUNVS302 I'm running Michelin pilot sport 4S's 300tw?? I think but it's also my daily and I'm chicken. But if you look at my videos from track day #1 compared with #2 all I really did was try to stay as flat on the throttle as possible in 2 and 7 gained about 11 seconds. Looks like most people I've found are running around 2:02-04 in a Mach 1

@@dhyskRand I am seeing a similar range in a quick google search. If those are the 305 fronts I think you have a bit more front end grip than I had on the V601s, I may have a bit more grip on the AD09's (265). I will try going flat out Thursday, I attempted it on the old tires and wound up going two wheels off. I think flat through 7 is doable. I think my biggest mistake this weekend was using the same line, and braking points as before with there being more braking and cornering grip available. They sometimes run the track in the 'bus stop' configuration that straight lines the esses.

It was, there was an instructor in the car. He (the instructor) apologized the next day, but in another session the driver apparently almost caused a 5 car pile up locking up in a corner.

@@JustHavingFun_ Yeah, I would have like to see his instructor rein him in a bit more and the track staff break out the blue flags. I believe he locked up with a traffic jam behind him in another session. Thankfully everyone in the train was able to avoid one another.

@@YRUNVS302 yeah I believe that was in turn 5. I was in that train. From that point forward I tried to make sure I grid 1st or at least before him so didn’t have to worry about him. Nice car tho!!

Mechanically they seem to be pretty solid, just finished my 6th trackday of the year and the car is performing like a champ. Minor issues with interior trim, but the caveat being those minor issues result in big bills. Sunshade is drooping? 2K repair bill. Covered by warranty but one of the DRLs on my father's 400 was a bit dimmer than the other (minor issue, and I could only tell when looking through my tint), but the msrp on the headlights are 4,800 a piece. I was cross shopping the GT350 when I bought the R. I am happy with my choice, but mustangs represent a lot of car for the money, and you don't have to source replacement parts from the UK.

I like them both, but I tend to agree. the V6 sounds more exotic to my American ears.

I agree. The V8 is too raspy. Even if I had the extra money, I'd still get the 6.

I got mine a bit over a year ago and still can't walk away without looking back. You are going to love it! I'll post another video with the VAP exhaust in the comparison as soon as I get another couple shots. The R drinks like a sailor on shore leave around town but can knock down 30mpg on the highway.
