Just about finished all the carpet in this one guys. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think and how you guys go/have gone with your fit-outs. Instagram @dan.loughridge
Looks great! Well done.
I just got 285s and they still scrub I have the same flares as you and have had to cut away a fair bit on the drivers side but not much on passenger side.
Awesome job Colin and Dan .
should've got strut spacers aswell
They ended up scrubbing on the body mount and I didn’t want to chop it
Make sure you degreaser it first mine was cracked turned into a double job
Hi Dan thanks for sharing. Mine is doing the same 2007. How much did this cost to do yourself please? After watching your informative video, I am contemplating it. Did your dad have to do anything else in the way of cleaning where the gasket went other than the scraper and vacuum please? Thanks once again
By memory I paid around $150 for all the seals and gaskets. No, just need the surfaces nice and clean so it steals flat. I’d check your rocker cover for cracks I didn’t know at the time that mine was cracked and couldn’t source one.
Cheers mate. Thanks for the video. I need to do mine and I was a little unsure on torque settings. As I don't want to crack my cover by over lightning the bolts. Thanks mate. God bless.
Fuck Toyota for making plastic covers seriously!
What is the diameter of the steel pipes used? What wall strength?
I used 40nb and the wall I think is 3mm
Hey mate just wanna ask after putting my rocker cover in found out my gasket were out and then i take out the rocker cover again but when i was taking it out i found my fuel injector seal got broken all 4 of em what could be the reason for that bcz i tight em without a torque wrench
If they are original they do perish. I didn’t plan on replacing mine at the time but they need doing so I did it while it was apart
Great video! I'm looking at doing this too to replace my injectors. So am I right in thinking that despite loosing the 2 fuel pipe clamps, there was not enough flex in the pipes to be able to manoeuvre the rocker cover off, and you had to loosen or disconnect the pipes at the common rail?
Yes I was worried about cracking the lines so I took them off
Did you need to use a scan tool at any time was there any codes on the dash
I didn’t have a scan tool and didn’t end up needing one. I think you may need one with newer models. Mines a 2008
Awesome video is very informative. Great work Dad
What size are them fresh muddies on the photo?
They are 33x12.5r15. I didn’t end up running then
Looks good mate! Top job!
watched one of your old vids last night did you end up doing the mount chop and getting the 33s to fit or did you down size
Ended up running 285/75r16 so I didn’t have to chop it
@@danloughridge3720 oh yeh nice
Ripper job. Looks amazing!!!
U want a little hole at bottom of the tube to let any condensation build up out other why it will build up inside and with rust out the hoop from inside out
Look mint tho 👌
Hey mate just wanted to say thanks for making this video. Gotta install one of these kits tommorow. its always good to watch someone do it first YEWWW!
so greatful i have a hoist
Good job! Great attitude when you realized the fit wasnt right the first time. I didn't actually need to watch this video because I was looking for another type of infill panel, but I'm glad I watched anyway. Praise god!
what thickness ply have you used about to make a floor in my canopy but unsure what thickness ply to use and be strong enough for 60ltr fridge on slide and draws without risking pulling screws fridge will likely be the heaviest thing in there
I used 16mm plenty thick enough
Hey mate i run a superior 4inch lift with there uca, i run a 285/70r17 maxxis razor on a sr5 rim they are a +35 which surprisingly do fit with a bees dick of scrub, my castor isnt moved forward and i dont not have a body mount chop either, let me know if you want any more info
How’d you get all the seals in the whole way?
Hammer and a block of timber and gently tap them in
Hey mate nice rig, is that on 31's?
Thanks it was, now on 285’s
Looks great mate maybe a business idea for you fitting out people's canopies? 🤙
I’ve had a few offers already
Hey Dan where your 2 bolts hard to come off to that rear bracket?
Hey Frank, yeah a lot of dirt mine were rusted in so big breaker bar helps
Legend. Followed step by step and replaced mine no worries. Thanks sharing.
Good stuff glad it helped
What did u use to make the draws slide without runners ?
Cut up a wheelie bin😅
@@danloughridge3720 work ok ?
Works awesome little bit of silicon spray also helps
Great work, looks like your enjoying the biuld, well done
Well done
Hi how did you secure ply to the roof
I had c channel welded to the roof which I screwed into
What size is your canopy?
Hey Mason, it’s 1700x1500x800
what size are those pipes?
Hi Junan I used 40nb
Is it just a TC box?
No it’s a custom made canopy from hqlink
Looks great mate Could you right down all the measurements, cheers
The sliders are 1660mm long with the bend coming in 200mm from either end. The is a 100mm gab between the pipe where the braces go. The chassis brackets depend on your car
You may need to run the neg lead for the inverter to the work side of the shunt or you won’t be able to see how much it’s using on the monitor. Which also means you may need to use a bigger guage wire between the shunt and the battery. I’m no expert so please do some research before any actions taken…
Also have enjoyed your canopy build as I’m starting to set one up too. How is your car for weight now?
The monitor seems to be working fine I just followed what the diagram said. Ute is defiantly on the heavy side. Thinking about making another tray with an ally deck to loose 100kg ish. Appreciate the feed back Paul
I was wondering if I could ask a question about heat inside the canopy. Do you have any issues? Do you need any ventilation? Do you notice the fridge struggling on hot days?
It defiantly get warm but not hot enough for me to worry about. The fridge has no issue at all
"Costs a fuckin heap"....pure Ballymena bai, no doubt that sentence was said so many times by yer da when you were growing up it has permanently eradicated your ability to sound Aussie when saying it.
He usually says “whale oil beef hooked, luk at the clabber on yon keyr.”
@@danloughridge3720 lol. Clabber is a great word
Dan did you make those mud guards mate? I am going to make a set like that for my HJ45 and was wondering if you had a video on it? Tray is looking sick by the way
I bought them from a local fabricator
Inspiration plus watching this! Top job. Really like your work and attitudes mate. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks Shaun really appreciate that.
i am looking to make a winchbar for my Lux, anybody done one that could share?
That’s awesome I’d love to do that at some point
Positive 30 offset on a 7 inch rim with a 10.5 X 33inch tyres and no scrubbing on my 2006 sr5 no body chop needed
I enjoyed watching all these vids. Great job mate
Thanks for the video on this it's so helpful
Where did you get the shop manual? Great job 👍
I bought it online. Most auto stores sell them
Hey mate did the swaybar kit come with the diff drop kit?? Did you end up needing new bash plates to counter the lower arms?? Thanks mate
The sway bar drop plata came with my coil overs and I ended up making bash plates
How did u fix all the timber’s together with a second fix gun and nails?
Bugals for the frame
@@danloughridge3720 did u build the frame outside the canopy then place it in or u build it in the canopy ?
I built it outside so I could screw it together them placed it in and fixed it to the shs that runs up the canopy wall
@@danloughridge3720 oh ok no worries cheers for the info appreciate it man 👍
Great job Dan
Thanks Chris
