I was fortunate to have been able to go to the Sunday of The Open Championship on Sunday 21st July 2024 at Royal Troon. I, like thousands of others that day, queued up at Glasgow Central Station for a 35 minute train ride to Troon. From Troon it is a 15 minute walk to the entrance.
I walked around the course twice and followed several groups. Notable names being Matt Wallace and Abraham Ancer, Max Homa and Jason Day, Shane Lowry and Advam Scott and ultimately Justin Rose and Xander Schaffele.
It was an incredible experience to watch some truly awesome golf and to witness another page in the Open Championship history book be written.
The nearest station to Royal Troon is Troon which is on the line between Glasgow Central and Ayr and is served by ScotRail trains.
