This is a good and tricky question, especially as app updates come out so frequently. I would say the desktop version is easier and quicker to create presentations because of the interface and how precisely you can adjust settings with a mouse/trackpad and keyboard. However, the iPad version allows you to create more with the Apple Pencil than you can on the desktop version. And once set up, both can play presentations created in either about equally well. But I will say there are less options with Presenter Controls on iPad than on a Mac.

You can increase the transparency to 37% instead of 10%. Then you should see the image but just “shaded” a bit. See if that works for you

Yes. If you know how to change the Slide Layout, that will affect all slides with the same layout. Both the foreground and the background are customizable.

I use Ecamm LIVE. However, I just put a bunch of Keynote templates in my store. They all have slides that you can export with transparent backgrounds as PNG files to use as overlays. The set of files will be $10 but is now on sale for $5. I've been digging into this. From what I can see, and I mentioned this in the video, since "command tab" is used at the Mac OS level, you can't use that as a specific keyboard shortcut for Chrome. Sorry about that.

Thank you . . . and I have quit making videos with background music. I thought it was a good idea, but realize most people just want to learn how to do something and don't need the music competing for their attention. Sorry about that. Lesson learned.

@mzbreski I've been doing some research and unfortunately, using an app like Clips, iMovie, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve seems to be the only way I can see to add text to a video. Markup is grayed out in Apple Photos when a video is selected. Sorry about that. I of course found a bunch of other software that can be purchased, but then you run into the same process of exporting, editing, and re-importing. If you had your location services turned on when you filmed the video, in the top menu you can go to "Window" and "Info" to see a small map with location details. But it looks like, at least for now, adding text or subtitles to a video are not possible in Apple Photos.

Magic Move is an option. It does have it's own tricks and limitations. You'd need to copy everything that you want to move, otherwise it will dissolve. You'd have to have some elements "off screen" on the first slide and then move them over on the second. Although this really interested me, I still believe "Push" is the best way to go.
