@@edwardsaldana2534 According to some online sources, I read that some were given to the people who made the cabinets or the programmers who made the game.
@@mlgpinguin6696from what I’ve seen on twitter, about two of them ended up in two different old school arcades, one was at an arcade store, one was at an arcade museum in NY,and one was auctioned in 2021, but the others are still lost.

as awesome as this is (especially for big fans of the film like me), anyone with even the most basic gaming knowledge can tell it's just a blatant ripoff of donkey kong

One of the 15 cabinets are at my local arcade from the 80s and I try talking to the characters from time to time sadly they are planning on selling it because of the crazy price

they need to put a machine like this in every arcade it could become the new PAC MAN
They could have went with a Raspberry Pi based solution if they want to shave some cents. Raspberry Pi has native composite video output and GPIO thus skipping the J-Pack, a Raspberry Pi 2 would have more than enough processing power to run a native build of this game.

Wait so this game is from 1982 from TobiNoki that means this game came a year out after Donkey Kong, thought it was made around 2013 by Disney lol. Wreck it Ralph looks to obvious in its similarities with Donkey Kong. The antagonist looks like Donkey Kong and the protagonist looks kind of like Mario and uses hammers like Mario originally used.

Actually, Fix-It Felix Jr. came out in 1982, not 1981.

He said 1981 because that's when Donkey Kong (the cabinet's original game) came out

I wonder what the deal is with them using that PC in particuar. And why it has a floppy drive- it's got a quad-core CPU. Way too new to have a floppy drive.

Very cool video.. As you said, the cab is obviously Nintendo / DK.. BUT, what is on the inside? Does it happen to be a ROM swap on a DK boardset? If so, that could be why it doesn't store high scores.. Take some pics of the inside for us!

Thanks for the video. Mostly just: thanks for the verification that there *wasn't* actually a Fix It Felix Jr. in actual 1982 that I just somehow never noticed. The movie is great. The game is probably fun. The cabinet looks spiffy. But I'm not a big fan of Disney casually rewriting history just because they can.
They didn't, I'm surprised people actually believed it was a real 80's game.
There is an Arcade in downtown Alameda that has this game, It's better then the old Sega Genesis version because it does not play that stupid music in the background while you play through the levels. Either that or the manager who runs the arcade changes the cabinet settings and turns the music off.

+brolylss01 Because, at the time, 8-bit games weren't capable of including high-quality voice clips like in the movie.
In the released arcade version Ralph say's it, in the old Sega Genesis version he also says it. So why doesn't he say it in this version, good question. Maybe the guy doing this video changed the settings.
jeanton1 Old Sega Genesis version? Released arcade version? You must be living in the realm of the movie; released arcade versions of Fix-it Felix, Jr. that I've seen never included the "I'm gonna wreck it" line.
Just TH-cam other versions of the game. It's say it right there in the beginning. You can also go to the Disney website and play the game. Ralph say's it there too. In the beginning animation before the game starts he say "I'm gonna wreck it."
jeanton1 I've played it on the Disney website so I know what that one's like; he also says it in the app version of Fix-it Felix, Jr. (I don't think it's still up). Any arcade cabinets I've seen that include the voice clips were custom-made, while many of the released arcade versions (_released under _*_Disney_*) only have sound effects. Regarding the Sega Genesis version you mentioned, that doesn't exist unless you're living in the universe of the film.

Somewhere in the world, there's probably someone who's got a fairly sophisticated PC set up, but all they do is play solitaire on it. Maybe check their email.
Because for a promotional tie-in, I doubt they'd want to spend the money to engineer something specialized. Also, lots of modern Sega arcade systems run on PC hardware.

They had a ton of these at Disney Quest when I was there! It really is amazing the lengths they went to make these so authentic. I literally thought this was an old 80's game that I never heard of and that Disney made a movie about LOL
