Great stuff! Pro Tip: Hold down SUBPAD and when trying to line up the drums to the sample. It allows the pad to be triggered with just one hit, instead of having to toggle it on/off.

Can the sp404 be set up as a multi track input so that the pads are sent to individual tracks?
Good question - I know that the pads can be used as midi inputs, so you should be able to do anything MIDI related in your daw.

For sure, I use Splice to get my samples and edit them in Logic and on my Roland SP404. usually I start with stretching/compressing them and changing the pitch up or down, just trying to find what sounds good to my ear. Then I start chopping and putting together something that makes sense. Try messing around with lots of different drum samples too, it can really change the vibe of your beat a ton. good luck!
