61 was the last year of the word Apache,62 was the last year of the torsion bar front end as well as as the last year of the stove bolt 64-6 was the first year of the in dash factory air,60-63 used the coolpack Frigidaire built under dash air unit.
Kill the baked in closed captioning. It's very annoying.
I had a 65 very similar to the one that you have in your video I lived in Illinois and the first cold spell we had in winter I wasn’t able to put in a freeze in and the six-cylinder block froze up and cracked. I worked at a gas station and found an old 72 Chevy station wagon that had a 396 in it so I swapped the 396 into the pick up the exhaust manifolds would not fit the hit the frame assembly, so I flipped them upside down and they actually worked. I had to have a custom exhaust to the manifolds coming down through the fenderwells, but it worked and it was a pretty snappy little truck with the 396. Just wondering if anybody else ever tried that swap
I'm a huge Bob Dylan fan and I never knew that, now I need to hear those deleted tracks!
😎My dad had a whole fleet when I was a kid I believe there are "64" I have a "70" 396 square box ✌️
GM stopped making trucks after 72.
1960 long bed step side, 327.
1958 and 1959 more desirable in my opinion, along with 1967 to 1972.
Judging by the lobotomised narration, it's obv a really exciting performance... Not.
1960-61 the name was actually Apache 10. Then in 1962 the C10 name and badging began.
The easiest way to distinguish between'64, '65, and '66 is badge placement on the truck and the style of the badge for '64 and '66. The '65 had the C10 badge on the cowling extender, '64 and '66 had theirs on the side of the front fender behind the wheel opening. The one other quick way to know if it's a '66 is to see if it has factory reverse lights, '66 only.
I have a 66 C10 truck i drive it pretty much every day love my car show truck/hot rod
I know this is a it of topic but what’s with the album cover it looks different is it pressed in a different region or something
Until recently I had a 1959 Apache now I drive a 1965 Chevrolet stepside👍
I have a 64 and agree, these trucks are the perfect lad truck. That can hang with modern trucks but have that vintage feel !
If the side emblems are still on, and are correct, then it's easy to tell the difference between a 1965 and a 1966. Plus the 1966 model came with backup lights.
Thank you for this information!
Yes the backup lights are 66 only
There was NO "236 inline six". It was a 235.
You're right, 235.5 cubic inch "235". One of the greatest Chevrolet engines.
The 1962 models did NOT have the Apache name or emblem.
I have a 65 and 63 love them both great trucks ez to service thank you for the great video
Thank you for the comment & for watching! What color are they?
Great vid!!!!
I appreciate it! How could it be better?
I had a '63 with the 292 straight 6. Of all the 5 trucks I've owned, that was my favorite. Might consider removing the text and going with a real narrator over the AI, but the graphics in the video were very engaging.
What color was it? Thank you for the words & advice!
@@Flips-and-Tips - Green with white cab top. Also what they call "patina" now.
I bet it is a beaut!
I had a 1960 Chevy Apache-10 1/2 ton Stepside with a Stove Bolt Inline 6 from 1993 to 2003. Sure do miss the old boy!
I bet! What color?
@@Flips-and-Tips When I bought it, it was like a sky blue. It was pretty beat up by then but ran and was dependable.
That's all that matters. Thanks for sharing!
1961 Chevy Apache 10👍 General motors had to drop the Torsion bars suspension in 1962 was the last year. Apparently the patent was held by some other companies. 1958 to 1961 The Double headlight years. That's the Apache. The Side trim is the spear and Arrowhead . 1960 to 1962 Had Hydraulic clutch. Not sure why they went to manual clutch in 1963.🤔 I have 1960 235 with what I believe is Factory air conditioning. Not sure what year it was available first 🤔
Thank you for the information! You're truck looks great, big fan of the white.
If you ever had the clutch slave cylinder go out on you like I did in my first '62 , you'd know why they went to mechanical linkage in '63 . Not only do you lose the clutch function, but you also lose the brakes due to the single master cylinder .
@@bobbrinkerhoff3592 😆 lol Don't remember that happening. But once the front brake shoes got wet. Bye bye brakes.👋🤣 Probably why a lot of old trucks have dented front clip 🤔
Who needs brakes? 🤣@@vm722

Nice video! Looks cool
Thank you! How could it be better?
I saw it a couple of weeks ago. Not as good as the others but not as bad as people say
I'd give it a 4/10. It isn't awful, and has some funny moments.
