Welcome to VANred! My name is Lars and through this channel I share my ideas and experiences with converting a van into a camper. I myself have converted a Renault Master L2H2 (2012) into a camper.
The name VANred has nothing to do with the color of the VAN. VANred is derived from my surname: van Rooijen. In Dutch "Rooijen" is almost the same as "red". And red is the color for excitement, action, and attention. It is a color of passion. It transmits energy, strength, and courage.

Hi,
In this episode, we show how we have tackled the water system for the conversion of the current Mercedes Sprinter.
We defined a number of principles when designing the system:
1. First. The water filling, water tank, pump, water heater, and outdoor shower are placed in 1 cabinet
2. Second. This cabinet (frame) is mounted in the camper so that the chance of freezing is reduced if you go camping in the early or late season.
3. Third. Everything is easy to reach for maintenance

Hi matasjarutis, we used the Raptor Vari-Nozzle spraygun with 4 liters of paint. Amount of paint will vary depending on how you set the nozzle. Have fun and success painting your van!

Appreciate the vid....was the broken bit from the inner part of door handle, or the outer bit....i need to get a new one and on ebay, they sell them as just the outer part (about aud$25) or the whole lot..inside bit and outside bit ..at least double the price, so just wondered if worth getting the whole piece or i just need new outer handle bit? Cheers..just rewatched vid..think u only replaced outer part..cheers

Hi Vince, no I did not need any glue. The original was also not glued.
I bought a master which was delivered yesterday by a driver who broke this indicator unit whilst reversing the vehicle onto my driveway! I ordered a replacement online but couldn't figure out how to remove the old lens unit so, you video was an absolute godsend. Thank you so much for taking the time to post it.

hej lars, very glad i stumbled across this video - today we got our renault master and can`t wait to start working on our home on wheels. i really like your interieur and the idea that both seats can be swiveled... i checked the link you posted for the swivel seats below, but it seems, that there are no swivel-plates to find on this site... so... may i ask, whether you remember, which swivel plates you used AND if it's possible to swivel the seats with the doors closed?! i saw various videos where swivel plates were installed, but you can only swivel the seats when opening the doors - which makes it a bit unhandy in my opinion -.- thanks for a short reply in advance and best regards from germany :)

what was the point of raptor liner compared to not having it?
We especially liked it visually. The completely black underbody and black fenders. And that with the rugged structure of the Raptor. It wasn't so much functional.

Fantastic video. A garage quoted me over 70euros to take off the whole wing mirror and replace this part. Ebay 12euros delivered to France from UK with 2 spare bulbs and 4 mins of your video and I now have a sparkling new light on my not so sparkling NV400. Thanks again.

No need to remove the inner panel

There is one big mistake the layout - the water tank should be mounted on the lower shelf instead. Big heavy items like that should always be mounted as low as possible as it will otherwise negatively affect vehicle handling.
Hi John, Thank you for your response. I agree with you that it is better to keep all heavy weights as low as possible. In that respect, mounting the water tank under the car near the rear axle is ideal. With this motorhome we deliberately chose to place the water tank in the motorhome for camping in the winter season. Before you call this design a mistake, I think it's important that you can include a little more information in your judgment. The cabinet of the water system is mounted over the wheel arch on the driver's side. A similar cabinet was installed on the passenger side with all the electrics. To make optimal use of the available space, between the two cabinets, the water tank is placed on the wheel arch. Only 30 cm above the floor. Of course, there are also water tanks on the market that fit perfectly over a wheel arch. However, availability, budget, and size have ruled it out. Both cabinets (water and electrical) are almost the same weight and provide a perfect balance. If you take into account that the water tank is 45 liters (ie kg), this is less than 10% of the total weight of the installation. From your point of view, I would be more concerned about a 29kg awning placed on top of the roof (2.50m high) ;-)
Just about to do this repair on a Fiat Scudo. Thanks for the guide. Often the reason the roller wears out is from greasing the track. It may appear to make it slide easier, but the grease also attracts abrasive grime which ultimately causes the roller to seize up. Then it wears a flat spot, the rubber wears through and the steel wheel starts cutting a groove in the track. This is the mistake I made! I'd suggest that the best thing to do is to simply always clean and dry the track when washing the vehicle. If the track is clean but the rollers are stiffening up, I've seen it suggested that a small squirt of silicon spray directly on the roller bearing will help, but also to wipe off any excess silicon immediately. Try not to leave anything left on the track surface and outside of the roller to which grit and grime sticks.

@@vanred_nl on step 2, instead of pushing in on the locking mechanism (seems to be this way for most people) mines actually a pull which either requires a different tool or to access the locking mechanism from a different angle. And then it's a push to lock it back in place. Really appreciate your videos btw have been a big help 👌

You have not managed to get the inner part in to the groove, shown as the place where the handle gets worn out shown at 4:30 in this video. Normally there is no need to remove the inside panel. Just use a piece of steel white to pull the inner part out and you can get the two parts to connect properly. The put back the stopper nobb behind the actual handle and turn the metal piece with a screwdriver through the hole at the back of the door
