Dont worry about making friends you will. Go to the Freshers fair in the first week join some societies and sports clubs you like, join the university gym, you will make friends very quickly from these as well as on your course. Very well done, enjoy the whole year and yes the UK is great for vegan restaurants and almost every restaurant now does vegan dishes which they mark on the menu. Best of luck and i hope the UK offers you a warm welcome
