I have the hl5x ive had it a few years its a great light its getting a new paint job today and hopefully i can find the hl6x in town today
FYI, the HL 6 doesn't have the X name on it. With Streamlight, the X usually means its a dual (or more) fuel. The HL 5X has the X because it can take the rechargeable AND the CR 123a. The HL 6 only takes the rechargeables. They might release an X version of the 6 in the future.
@@donperrignon oh good to know I thought I had read that somewhere on my packaging or something. That’s probably why I put it there sorry just for some reason had it stuck in my head
Seeing this I'll wait for an x model I have thousands of 123's for emergencies not to mention most my other equipment runs on 123 I love that my hl5x takes rechargeable and 123 I wasn't aware the 6 doesn't do that
@@travislupum I don't know if they will. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I've looked through all of their models a bit ago and I noticed they sometimes have two versions. No guarantee this will have one.
@@donperrignon didn’t you see the difference in battery size though? I don’t think a small battery like what’s in the five would give you much of a run time on 5300 lm so what would be the point? If you have an emergency, just use one of the other lights, but if you want an extremely high lumen light than I doubt they are going to use those smaller batteries as the power source. It just doesn’t make any sense if there is a better and bigger option, it’s like comparing an M 12 and an M 18 Milwaukee if a new high power draw tool comes out it’s almost always only available with the M 18 so yeah I may have a ton of M12 batteries but that doesn’t mean I don’t just have to bite the bullet and invest in some M 18’s. If I want to use the new tools you just have to have both because I doubt they would make another one of these compatible with an inferior power source, it just doesn’t make sense butwho knows time will tell.
Thanks for the comparison. Do these lights really not step-down in the highest mode? All flashlights I own usually step-down in like a minute or less.

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question… new here in the SW/PW realm. I have been curious on carbon fiber components. Will standard residential softwash mix degrade the resin that holds the carbon sheets together?
@@bigdahhwg89 carbon fiber is made and constructed in many different ways and can be held together with lots of different resins and filaments, and there’s tons of different directions you can go with it. All of the filaments and everything about the construction of my carbon fiber is unaffected by sodium hypochlorite. you can take one of my lances and you can soak it in 100% sodium hypochlorite for a week and it remains unchanged. You can rinse it off and it looks just like new. You are correct, though, that most of the carbon fiber you will find will indeed breakdown with sh.

What purpose is to have the accumulator tank. What is the benefit?
@@1stFlyingeagle run any tips you want and pump longevity
@@softwashscience That was an honest question. I have not heard anybody else mention they had an accumulator tank with their software system.
@@1stFlyingeagle yrs ago most all systems sold had accumulator tanks. Now it’s all about flow but the fact of the matter is the perfect size tips for a 12 V pump our size 20 to 30 orifice. They spray better the problem is they make the pump rapid cycle. With an accumulator tank, you can run those tips and the pump will last years. On my current set up now I don’t have an accumulator tank and I can tell you I go through a lot more often and for sure don’t last four years like the one in this video had.
@@softwashscience thank you for explaining that. I like to understand things clearly when others share.
I asked AI 200 feet of 5/8, and yes, it dwindles down on 5/8 gpm. But if you run the first 100' in 3/4 and then 100 feet in 5/8. Gpm goes up nicely. Pump I told AI was 7 gpm. Running all 3/4 would be great but I don't like dealing with 3/4 hose up on the roof. 5/8 is nicer to handle.
@@1stFlyingeagle in video i am running 1/2”
@@1stFlyingeagle in my opinion, you can run half-inch if you’re only running 200 feet of hose and you’re not gonna really have any problem. If you run 5/8” and you’re only running 200 feet. I dare bet you it’s going to spray better than a few run 3/4”. Your pump outlets say they are three-quarter inch but if you actually look at the ID, they are really not. I know at my house. I run all sorts of different hoses to water my grass and I can run like 50 foot of 3/4 and then the rest like 100 foot of 5/8 And it kind of sprays like crap off my well pump. But if I run just 150 foot of all 5/8 it sprays way better at the end. It actually hurts the performance when you go from small to big then back to small. Bottom line is when you go much longer than 230 feet or so it starts to really lose performance. I have about 270 feet on the real that I run now but I only use it for roof cleaning and I never like when I run out of hose, so I make it work and it’s set up as best as it can be for what it is.
So what’s the problem?

@softwashscience i like the way it sprays on the roof. You dont have a bunch of water coming out nor are you flooding the roof with your mix. I have a 7gpm 100psi pump and looking for the right tip for roofs...its been hell for me
1530 is the best you just won’t see you guys using those because they make the pump rapid cycle. You need to get an accumulator tank.

Could you look at your tip and tell me the number? So you could be using a surface cleaner tip and not even know it
I’m sure it’s a 1530 just based on how it’s spraying. It’s definitely not a surface cleaner tip because I would never use that and it wouldn’t put out this amount of volume. This video was from four seasons ago, so I don’t even have that Jrod anymore.
What is the tip number you're spraying with?
Idk 1530 probably
Hope you come across my question. Just looking at getting a new gun, have a 8gpm. Just looking for recommendations.
I like the blue gun I have here and I have medium size hands. There is a blue gun general pump makes that’s a weep gun and that one’s pretty nice and then one of my favorite guns and it’s probably one of the nicest guns is the mosmatic with the built in swivel. it’s like most anything in this industry mosmatic is the pinnacle of everything that they choose to do for the most part but it’s also expensive. If you really want a nice gun, I would suggest going that route the one I have has outlasted any other one that I’ve used.
29.132 and 29.134 are the mosmatic part numbers
Thank you, I truly appreciate that!
@@10cobra03 RL51 is a good gun as well and it’s cheaper pricewise
I went with the mosmatic 29.132 I didn’t mind spending the extra cash. In the long run as long as it doesn’t kill my arm lol I’ll be happy.
I'm sure anyone thats ever used a DS injector has seen that they restrict flow. My guess is that the difference would be greater with the added backpressure of 200 feet of hose and a gun in front of it.
For years and years it was a huge argument on forums, facebook groups, and all over the industry. No one took a digital flow meter and put it in everyones face like I did though. Wildly if you look back and find the old posts in facebook groups when I posted this video there were several guys who continued to tell me I was wrong and that injectors don’t restrict flow.
@@softwashscience yea i remember when the argument of arguments was 4gpm vs 5.5gpm and noone would touch 8gpm bc they were convinced you need to fill up a 300 gallon tank at the start of each job then empty it so you don't waste gas carrying water to the next job. The amount of resistance that Chris @Apple Roof Cleaning and Offdutyfireman overcame to convince people that bleach is safe and 8GPM is where its at is insane.
@@AlexSomers-d2n yeah it’s always entertaining to look back. I still remember in 2019 I believe it was maybe 2018 I would have to go look. I propose the idea of a remote control bypass system and people told me I was thinking about it all wrong and it went over most peoples head, and they told me that they already exist, referring to the solenoid style ones that shut off the injector line. That was the same day. I had a long conversation with Jud West and told him we just needed to motorize our current Bypas and not change it at all and that’s when a lightbulb kind of went off for him and then fast-forward to this video right here and I’m Testing one of the prototypes he made. I made sure to keep this old prototype. I think it’s kind of part of our industries history and I like that sort of thing.

Have you ever blown the o ring out opening of the coupler when cracking the ball valve?
No I especially not on a low pressure system like this. I do run my pressure, washer, the same way as well and well. I won’t stress that one nearly as much but I have never ever blown the O-ring out. Honestly, you never will ever unless you are using hot water which I don’t. Then you should consider the plug on the end with a power washer.

Its kuritech and it’s possible that it is more flexible than the holes you have but remember things on video are not always necessarily the same as in person. Maybe it’s less flexible in person than what it seems but it was pretty cold out and when it’s warm, it’s even better so you might be right.
