Pole Climbing Championships
มุมมอง 1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Now, sprinting 25 meters is difficult enough for most people, but for these athletes, it’s a mere warm-up. They prefer to do it vertically - straight up a giant timber pole. The origins of this sport lie in North America, where lumberjacks used to shimmy up massive trees to lop off branches with their axes. Eventually, someone thought, ‘Why not turn this into a sport? And so, pole climbing was ...
Man invents the Lawnmower Boat
มุมมอง 43K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Amphibious vehicle made from lawnmower and rowing boat. It sounds like your typical lawnmower, but this one is far better suited to slicing through waves than trimming the grass. An amateur inventor has come up with a brilliantly madcap solution to the age-old problem of getting his boating gear from home to the water without all the faff. Introducing the ‘Shortcutter’ - a Frankenstein’s monste...

Love watching Richard, saw him in a village hall 3 months ago and he was great... I requested a couple of songs(Sods Law & Bach's Bouree in D major) and he played them... fantastic entertainer.... definitely would go to see him again if he came anywhere near.....
Thanks for all the incredible music you gave me Willy, with Otway, and your own virtuosity. I'm from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and listening to you two, and watching you on TOGWT was like a very bright light shining through the dark satanic obscenity that was happening to my small part of the UK. Your music made such a difference to me and others like me, over here, so I thank you, mate. I wish you rainbows.

I wonder why they don’t use electric chainsaws?
No talking 😂
"You whip out a uke and everyone smiles. Well, for a while anyway." That made me laugh so much. It really is a welcoming instrument. Every ukulele player I've met encouraged me to pick one up and try to play along with them no matter how much I insisted I have no musical ability. Now I've been playing for eight months and it's so much fun. And that can be traced back to the Ukulele Orchestra making it popular.
With all the flooding in the Southern US at the moment, this could be very handy. People are getting around in other small watercraft, but they have to leave those at the waters edge.
Absolutely brilliant. What a great guy
Singing lessons needed, great innovation
Now to figure out how to add the cutter deck to use her as a ride on mower as well.
I reckon I'd sell my main boat, and trundle around in this every day!
He must’ve inspired by watching the Red Green Show.
Even the singing was first-rate! Kudos from across the pond, sir.
It was fab singing, wasn't it.
Love the mow boat ,,,,,freaking genius
Agree.
Great invention you be able to mow seagrass
Congratulations on a well made machine. You can probably make some money making them for others. I like it a lot. I hope you get to enjoy it for a long time and you sir are somebody worth knowing about. Cheers!
This channel is silly. And I quite like it.
That is one awesome ride/boat! No trailer, no tow vehicle!!! I don't know why Honda wouldn't build it because it is a sweet little piece of kit that i know thousands would buy no problem!
Well done! From another man in his shed who is just finishing fitting a diesel lawnmower engine into a motorcycle! I am planning on retiring to the coast, when i do another one of these will be created!
Go for it.
Now, he can cut right thru choppy water!🤔 😜
Is this the dude that made a bumper car for the road?!
Good.
Loved the ingenuity of the thing!! Cool boat ⛵
Brilliant!
It is, isn't it.
I think singing "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore" (3:20) was just so charming and amusing.
Just fanastic.
I always wondered what Caractacus Potts was up to these days...
A Honda engine would be better, quieter, and more reliable. I'd put smooth front tires on though, less drag in the water, and agricultural treads on the back, so you could get out of muddy embankments better. Great idea though, and well done.
Thanks for your thoughts - will pass on.
No nutter about you John. I take my kayak down there and it`s getting a pain lifting it off the roof rack and carrying it down to launch. Lovely part of our Country.
Yes, lovely part of the world.
Doesn't everybody have a boat with wheels on it?
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
Faster in the water than on land
That was so neat to watch. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
We loved our Murray ride on lawnmower. Used it from 1985 to 2000 on 5 acres. My husband installed a "sight glass" on it so we could easily check the oil level. He showed me how to add oil. He had to disconnect the automatic shut off that shut it off if it thought the seat was empty. One late twilight afternoon I ran it into a large pine tree, I was so entranced with the nice evening. No harm done.
Thanks for your story.
Superb.
It is, isn't it.
The British Red Green. I do not understand why he is trying to sing, but my dogs are howling along.
Vell done !! ✌
Wheres Grommet?
We bought a fleet of these to mow the seaweed near our shoreline... it's wonderful! We sell the seaweed to local restaurants.
Wow, what a good deal, build it yourself and drive it to the water.
Great, isn't it.
That’s amazing! Well done you!👍
Putter putter nutter.
Wow ! This is great 👏👏👏👏cheers from Auckland, New Zealand
Glad you enjoyed it!
The construction and mechanics of it are quite simple. The funniest thing was his bureaucratic honesty to request registration ... and then their eventual consent that it could be classified within some category of the law I mean, really, he could have driven a granny cart to the beach, waded in with a dinghy, and rowed out to his boat. I think he was tugging their chains for a laugh.
Brilliant John ! Maybe you could produce a little book over the winter , with plans , how you built it ? With a nice dedication to your friend who helped you and a suggested list of songs to accompany the build !😊 I'd buy it !
Thanks for your lovely comment.
You're more than welcome .
Magnificent!
I agree
Can't believe plod didn't ban it
When asked why? he said he couldn't kelp himself
There's a career on stage for you, Greg!
@@hutcarchive499 many thanks for the appreciation
That's my kind of crazy. I like it. Form follows function.
Pure Genius.... now with an added dirigible ... a world travelling vehicle
Thanks, Stephen.
Lovely 💕🍀✌️ I’ve been wanting to do something similar for years with my bike
Now you know that it is possible...well!
