You solder just fine. Soldering stained glass is a different technique than soldering electronics.

Can you suggest glass cutting tool for beginners
Any idea where I can find a pattern to make this or did you just draw it?

You need to make sure you have the cup shape as you’re soldering. Every time you grab the leaves and pull to get the cup shape you are loosening the foil from the glass which weakens the whole project over time.

Ashley Britz I wish that I could but I freehand draw all my patterns onto contact paper and cut them out and attach them to glass! I plan on working on another tonight so I’ll try to create a pattern and send it your way!:)

What is the liquid you used after foiling
Are you talking about the flux? You use flux to get your solder to bind to the foil:) without it your melted solder will roll right off!

Love the video. I am trying my first succulent and the leaf pattern is the hardest, Did you draw your own or did you find a leaf pattern somewhere.
Mori Byington I drew my own:) I started with a circle and divided it into 8 “pie slices” I extended those “pie slice” lines out until I was satisfied with the petal length and shaped the tips of each one on the inner most layer. Then I continued to extend the lines out and used them as guides to draw my next layer of leaves, making sure to offset and draw each petal on the second layer between two inner petals. I repeated this process for the third layer. It helped me to measure out the correct number of petals! Also- I use Avery sticky labels and when I made one petal of each layer I used it as a stencil for the others so they were uniform:)
