My name is Greg Millar. You won't have heard of me. However, i play guitar, mostly electric, and was invited, with my wife, to go to a bar following a lovely meal, as only the Nippon people can do.. What they didn't tell us, was that we were going to Goodtime Charlie Nagatani's bar, and that they had told Charlie that I, from Montana, was a bonafide Country musician. And unbeknown toe, had arranged for me to play on stage with Goidtime Charlie. He played acoustic, loaned me his Tele, I played backup lead guitar, but what caught Charlie's attention, was when i unexpectedly started singing harmony. Well. A year later, I returned to Kumamoto, my wife was teaching English as a Second Language at Kumamoto University, When we returned to Charlie's bar, he was there with the full band, The Cannonballs, and he invited me to play. While excited and happy to play along, I was borh shocked and surprised when he took off kis guitar, and held that Tele and put it around my neck, saying, I'm gonna sit this one out He tossed me the keys to theCannonballs!!! I turned to the band, and said, can you all pull off "Amazing Grace"? They nodded in the affirmative as only the Japanese do. I knew we were goid to go. Following that song, a table of 5 businessmen, if i guess, stood, and bowed from the waist, rare for Japanese Men, at least at that time. One had tears on his cheeks. It was a privelege I will cherish til U can cherish no more. Greg.

Written by "Rusty" Naill when she owned a little bar room on Pacific Coast Hwy near Pacific Ave in Long Beach California. Not exactly as she wrote it and how Rose Maddox first recorded it but I'll bet she's looking down smiling knowing her song made it around the world.
