Austin, you won't remember me but I had the honor of writing with you one night back in 2003 when I first moved to Nashville. Flies on the butter was my first introduction to your songwriting. I lost my oldest son to an overdose in 2020 and his oldest son (11) text me a link to your song this morning, "Arms Wide Open", saying he felt like this is how Dalton (my son) must have felt when he found out he was having a baby. He never really new my son unfortunately so this is certainly a bitter sweet song. Little did I know until today that you wrote it. And to hear the story behind it gives it so much more meaning since me and my husband are in ministry. Thank you for listening to your heart and writing such amazing music that is still reaching even our youngest generation today.

I've followed Joey + Rory for years, sat at work on my night shift bawling my eyes out with the first season of the show, had a seat in theaters for To Joey with Love, bought Josephine the day it released, and most importantly prayed daily for Joey and Rory. I was a fan way before Can You Duet, and loved Joey's self titled CD. I guess what I'm getting at is I hate that I have to pay for another streaming service to continue to follow the family that became my own. Had the original series been that way I guess it would sting just a little less, and I get making these shows costs money, but why not show them on here or RFD after they premier on Homestead? Or limited time viewing options on YT?

Findings those letters by someone who had interest and initiative to tell this story I such good fortune. Let not our history be lost. I found a log once , that told of the work people were doing in the area I lived. I used to love reading through the book every few months. Such a journal is a nice step back into the hills that I lived
