    I have yet to find a thin, flat pack style wood stove that doesn't warp. Thankfully titanium is easier to work with than stainless in that regard. The only ones (steel or titanium) that don't warp in my experience are the cylindrical ones, but that takes away from the whole flat pack appeal.

    • @AlbionCamping
      @AlbionCamping ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for dropping a comment. Yeah I've had it up in some bad weather, and nothing appears to have come through although it is hard to tell with no floor. I recently bought the full inner for it, which will be the ultimate test as i'll be able to see any random droplets, if there are any. I'm planning to use it again towards the end of Nov. The rain beads off the sides remarkably well and pools in the snow flaps, which is a good sign of its waterproofness.

I've come to realise over the years there's no perfect tent. I wouldnt worry too much about a porch as most are too small to safely cook in imho. If you're in the woods a small tarp works well as a shelter to cook under and some are pretty lightweight and pack small these days.

    Your gear is well thought out and functionable. You gave me a few ideas for my own kit. I have a DD 3x3 tarp which I just bought and I have ordered a One Tigeris net tent, but it needs a hiking pole to setup. I have all this stuffed into my get home bag in case I need it sometime. I keep it in my car. I like your low impact cook gear as well. Great stuff. I subscribed to your channel, so I will keep watching. If you could do more videos on tarp camping, I would enjoy that. I am not much of a tent or hammock camper, because I feel rather vulnerable not being able to see out around me. I live in Arkansas, USA. Things are not going well over here, so I am trying to stay prepared, if I get stranded on the road. We travel large distances due to the geography in America. Thanks for the great ideas.

      Thanks Doug, love the comment. I'll definitely be using this setup more now that it is warmer. I like to have my tarp fairly flat when i hammock so I can see 360, but it's not for everyone. Thanks for the sub and I hope you have some fun times with your new tarp and bug net. atb owen 😎👍

    I wonder if DD tarp but 2.8x1.5 instead of this 3x3 will be enough to just protect from rain if it comes but first I need to buy this awesome net for my bikepacking trips :) nice video thanks

      Hello mate, thanks for the comment. The length will be fine, but the width might be a problem. It will be close anyways. I hope you enjoy your bike packing trips. atb owen 😎👍

    Nice one Owen, 👍 is that GEONET part of a tent system or a stand alone bug net? Those burgers looked ace dude, nice to see you out. Lee

      Cheers Lee, cool to hear from you and I hope you're doing good. Yeah It's a stand alone bug net. Think I paid about £50 for it from GO Outdoors last year. Maybe you could do the same sort of setup with your MSR. Owen

      @@AlbionCamping Yes that would work, I've also used my DD hammock as a bug net in the new forests.. I'm camping in a cave tonight and just using the MSR inner coincidentally 👍
