NICE DRIVING DRIVER " SAM "... Man it's been years since pulling a 40' flat deck from Coquitlam to hope and then up 3 towards westbank. I would finish my afternoon Dock foreman job for GlenCoe around 11pm , then have a quick wash and load my truck to hit the road. This was in the late 80's early 90's where the manager ( I believe his name was Dale and her name was Cathy ) would say drive or your fired and so many of us just hopped behind the wheel and off we went. The quietness of the Hope Princeton was always my favorite run ( Well at least til I got used to it lol ) but at the start it was white knuckle's doing 60km til I got my snow legs hahahaha.. Went to gravel trucks after that for about 3 years and ended up in Health and Safety for more money and safer work but I sure get a craving for the stick when I watch you guys doing the do.. Thought it was BC State Law to “Chain Up” at the start of the assent of the Coq when driving a Big Rig 🚛 in inclement conditions?? Plenty of signs at the foot of the Coq to remind HGV drivers to chain-up.. RCMP ruthless in fining errant drivers to get this safety point across. Guess that female driver is going to end up having a very light handbag after the RCMP Patrols have done with her.

I didn't see many 4x4 doing about 140km/h passing you at 20km/h. This is why I like not to drive the Coq. One winter in the 90's I entered the Coq at Kamloops in the evening heavy snow, no plows, or any other traffic, the snow was so deep the only reason I knew I was on the road because I wasn't hitting a wall or falling off of a cliff and when I came out the hwy was clossed.

I drove the rising Fenix truck threw there into the first tunnel I started out in Ocala Fla USA once I got in that tunnel I pull up another 2000 Feet dynamite the binders I was jack knife ing into the tunnel at same time people on CB telling me high is closed went from no snow to hell freeze over pond the throttle get her straight thank God Fer grip inside got CB after dam near cardiac arrest and said I'm 2000 feet and grounded Amen and some let me know when sanding get near I put my reflectors OTR entrance off tunnel and had the best sleep I ever in in a long spell that day I'll never forget hell after I strait em her and park I was still shaking for 45 mints I happen so quick my guardian angel went on strike and told don't I ever do that again I think the devil was laughing at me so hard I made him cry.

Thanks for the video. I seem to remember it's about a 14 km stretch over the summit that can be downright scary during winter conditions. As others have mentioned, it needs to be driven responsibly, preferably with winter tires.
