Hi. We're a husband and wife from Auckland, New Zealand who love to travel but 2020 meant that travelling became more of a spectator sport so we travelled virtually through the magic of TH-cam watching everyone else's journeys around the world and we thought we would give it a go ourselves. We work full time and are thankful for this during these tough times, however, it means travel is limited to weekends and holidays but we hope to post some of our short breaks when we can. We are just starting out using free software and teaching ourselves so forgive the quality until we get a little better. We hope you enjoy some of our adventures.

Beg boat, bro! Bon voyage.
From memory it was around £78 for both of us for a return trip. Check out their website for current prices. Well worth it.
Amazing video! I was wondering how much did it cost to take the hovercraft from Portsmouth to Isle of Wight?
Thank you. From memory it cost around 78 pounds for a return trip for both of us but check the website and it will give you the current rates.
Hi ! I am going to Portsmouth in Jan 2025 to study at the University of Portsmouth. I hope it will be a good experience. I will also visit Southampton, and I hope I will be able to find a part-time job there.
Good luck with your studies. 😊
Hello, and thank you for the video. This cabin looks nice! Could you let us know how many power plugs are in the cabin? We're trying to figure it out. 🙂
Sorry but I can't quite remember now. Being an older ship I know there wasn't many. I think there is a European and a US on the desk and maybe one behind the lamp by the sofa.
@@kiwismoving Thank you
I AM GLAD TO SEE if i win the lottery to afford the grand voyager trans pacic australia and new zeland 93 day cruise that is on this ship ithere appears to be enough place for storage lol btw that bucket list dream cruise forone person. interior cabin is35,000
Appreciate your video, captioned without narrative ❤
At 1:00 pm it's 90° degrees but feels like 103°. The history is fascinating but the weather is brutal.
Thank you for the very nice ship tour!
Hello, my friend, I'm watching your amazing video. Such awesome scenery when you tour the US Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama. I feel so happy watching your footage! I look forward to your next work! 👍👍
merci
Man never went to the moon, life cannot survive past the Van Allen radioactive belts!
I guess it would be good to try and imagine 1,400 passengers in this tour…. But it’s nice to see the ship. Thank you.
Great music. Thank you so much for showing Savannah and not yourself. Sorry, but I am not as interested in you as I am in Savannah. Many video makers think it's about them.
I love the ship MS Zaandam I was a former Security Guard in Holland America Line....
What did you love about it?
After doing the 2016 Zandam Vancouver to Hawaii and back, rolling with the swells, we have made sure to take the larger Nordam, and Westerdam on our transpacific Japan to Alaska, and a 2nd Vancouver to Alaska Cruise. And going transatlantic on the Oosterdam soon. And we avoid any vibrating rooms over the engines - propellers in the back and try to get our inside rooms in the front half.
Thanks for confirming my choices for 2025's sailings. In the spring, we'll be on the Noordam twice, the second time on a transpacific Tokyo to Vancouver crossing. In the fall, we'll be on the Oosterdam twice, the second time on a transatlantic crossing Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale.
We sailed on her in Feb 2023 for 14 day Panama Canal trip from Fl to San Diego in a Neptune Suite. First thing we noticed was the ship is old. Center piece, the Organ did not work. Small shopping choices. Very few usb and elect outlets in room. Shower / Tub very small. I am 6 ft though. Took a port away from us and did nothing to makeup for it. Entertainment was horrible. Only 3 shows out of 13 nights worth seeing. Very little to do on ship except read, play trivia and watch tv in room. We even attended art shows, that’s how bored we were. Had to have Neptune Lounge reset our tv 4 times because it kept freezing. We were below Lido deck and heard carts throughout the night. Spent a lot of money for our Neptune suite and did not expect to hear noise all night long. Food was just ok. We mainly ate in Pinnacle Grill because food was not great. What was awesome was the crew. As with all HAL ships we have sailed on, it’s the crew that made the difference. Zaandam is off our ship list now, and when we book cruises, we now look at ship before booking.
Thanks for the video
Did you try skimming a stone over the ice?

Thank you for doing this video its great seeing the layout of the ship before hand I understand this is one of the smaller ships they have.
Yes, I think it is the smallest in the fleet along with the Volendam although it never felt small or crowded. The ship was fairly full and even when it got very cold and everyone was inside you could still find plenty of free spaces.
Merry Christmas guys. 🎄
Same to you!
I took my first cruise on the "Zammy" in 2011 from San Diego to Hawaii. In my mind this is the perfect size ship. It of course has all the elements just in miniature. I have been on many cruises on the Koningsdam and once did 54 days on the Amsterdam to the south seas. I hope to sail on her once more. before she is retired or sold like the Prinzendam. Best memories!
We like the smaller ships too. Our first cruise was on the Oosterdam and that's probably about as big as we would want.
What a great video of Zaandam. This is very helpful tour of Zaandam. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your kind comments. I'm really glad you found it helpful.
Great job on capturing your journey.
Thank you. Just got to finish it off now.
Highway at 19m0s looks too picturesque to be real.
The view at 23m19s is pretty crap by comparison 🥁

Question -- how did you get on this completely empty ship in order to film this tour? No crew -- no passengers? lol Thanks for the tour!
:-) It was not empty by any means. I got up at 5am on our first day which was a sea day. There are a few passengers and crew about but everyone else must have been sleeping in. That's why a couple of places are a bit dark. Sunrise was awesome.
Did Boston to Iceland to Boston last July, loved the ship!
Exellent video !
Thank you for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed it.
Just a friendly advice... If you want to post videos, invest in a good microphone that you can connect to whatever camera you use. There's nothing more frustrating than bad sound quality in a video. Good luck! Stay safe!
Thank you for the advice. Learning as we go and investing in some better equipment and software so hopefully we will improve.

Did the same cruise Aug 23rd 2023...just great!
We went on this ship a few years ago.Sorry to be negative, but our cabin vibrated so bad that it loosened our fillings.
I've actually heard or seen that somewhere else. Our cabin was mid-ship on the first floor and we didn't experience any bad shuddering or vibration. Perhaps something that was fixed in the last refurb.
@@kiwismoving First floor? You lost me and most other experienced cruisers with that comment.
@@WilliamMurphy-uv9pm 45 cruises here. Went Montreal to Fort Lauderdale on a nice oceanview on deck 1. Very comfortable but I also like to be close to the water for a change. Loved the smaller ship with spacious public spaces like hallways and the promenade.
@@richardlo4867 Glad you enjoyed it. Time is running out on these older, smaller ships.
@@richardlo4867 Thanks for your thoughts.
Great video, thank you. The Zaandam is a beautiful ship
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the tour, will be on the Zandaam in January for Panama Canal cruise. It's fun to preview the ship! 11:47
It's a nice small ship and I'm sure you will love the Panama Canal. We went through the canal in 2011 on the Norwegian Jewel.
Ditto - we will also be on there
Me, too!!
Thank you for this tour.

Hey this is good. You got some beautiful shots. Add a background music . It gonna be soo good
Thank you for your kind comment.
I went with a group tour back in 2017 and when we got to this particular area. I heard a faint disembodied scream
So peaceful
