1975 El Camino Laguna S3 being test driven.
Definitely need subframe connectors and a roll bar on that car with that motor
It's actually not a Laguna S3. It is an El Camino with a COPO order for the sloped nose to be added. The only way to prove it came that way is if you have the build sheet. There was one posted on a Laguna web site years ago. The nose was listed as an option and COPO was on the sheet. Looks very cool, hard to say how many were ordered that way but can't be very many.
Wonder how much this sold for...and what it is worth in 2023?
I would want side pipes on it with headers
What price
Ac condition
I would put in a back seat remover and big drag radials. It definitely needs bigger exhaust tips
The 427 was rare to be in the 69 Mach 1 would this be called the super Snake and did Ford actually put that engine in
Sweet!
Anyone can buy anotherr engine
Four ventrium? 🤣🤣🤣
Super fajne auto
I have driven these old motors a 100 miles is a long vibrating trip still like the look and nostalgia but compared to the new tech 800 too 1000hp with a 10 speed and a/c power everything that you can drive all-day I have made my bed
I've read a lot about this car and every article says you created a masterpiece way to go if you can't buy it build it great job!!!
Magnífico
Nothing looks as good as early mustangs and no Fartrari ever sold as well as they did . Like steak vs limp linguini . 😂
427 is a monster ! Tune right nothing is better ! Beautiful car !
needs starter and flywheel
Ventrium???
Dad bring me my car back
I'd say the exhaust system should be enlarged to reduce back pressure!!!
S code does not mean that it came with a 390. Also if it is set right, a ford is NOT any harder to start than any other brand.
Yes it does. Mach 1 engine line up-, H Code- 351 2v, M Code- 351 4v, S Code- 390 4v, Q Code- 428 Cobra Jet non ram air, R Code- 428 Cobra Jet ram air.
Yep
"Ok, we're going to put it back into storage." :(
427 side oilers were rated at, I think, 425 horsepower, but in truth had around 485...so stroking this one gained only 15 horsepower?
Probably, yeah. It's got a 428 crank in it to make that size engine. HP would depend on the heads. If it has medium riser heads, they just didn't make that much power and adding cubes isn't going to be a huge improvement, but a little bit. But an average 427 didn't have any 485hp, I don't think any stock FE 427 ever had that much right out of the box. Look up The Horsepower Monster, they have a 498 cube FE dyno test, it only made a bit over 470hp, even with a roller cam. They were just kind of limited in stock form due to the heads, and even in modified form, they still don't keep up with the BBC's. But still really cool.
That engine was 520 hp stock from ford garented to run 7000 rpm
beautiful car
starter needs shimmed and if he would have pumped the gas a couple more licks before cranking it would have started quicker
One of a kind...literally!
Looks indian red
The 427 side oiler stock was 425 HP. I bet its putting 500 HP to the ground!
That's what Ford said for insurance purposes. From people I've talked to 475 was closer to actual HP.
I got my Mustang but lost my hat!
He KB
How much are you selling it for? JB
Sounds like a ww2 radial starting up.
That's the only one I seen.
Love it," nothing like old school horse power
Man, that exhaust note with the idle lope is perfect. This car is a serious piece of hardware with that side oiler 427.
Isnt that the garnet red
Omg what a beauty 😍
When it first started, and your wife was filming it at idle, the exhaust looks like it was coming out from under the car, not out of the exhaust tips. Must be an optical illusion. You have a really nice car! I have a 1969 Sportsroof with a 351 Boss Block stroked to a 427 from Ford Racing. Sad but it’s getting cheaper these days to buy built blocks ( although Ford Racing prices show they are proud of their engines, lol). Between the cost of the parts and trying to find a decent machine shop, it seems quicker too. Would love to see a burn out, but at least we got to hear it run. Thanks!
Absolutely Beautiful!! Sounds So Badass!!
My first thought: TUNEUP!
This is a 427 side oiler. Has 2- 4 bbl carbs. Pretty sure manual choke was installed for this setup. Very cool car $$$
These cars look much better with the back window louvers.
You better change the battery and check the ignition system before making a video
Give me a carburated car any day!
Wow, high compression! That starter was struggling trying to 🔥 that monster.
Most 427 carbs didn't come with chokes. I had a 427 med.riser,dual 652 cfm Holleys. It didn't have chokes!
Drive the freaking thing and stop bullshitting
