JACK BRIDGLAND - POST Production Tutorial
In this video we look at how to create a similar style of final image, as created by Jack Bridgland Post production.
This is a real time retouch, with some image analysis of Jacks work, and some techniques that can be used to get a similar end result.
We start with a regular RAW file, exported from Capture1 into Photoshop. If you would like to see more detail on Capture1 workflows, let me know.
The original image, I created this in Studio in 2015, it has a similar style in terms of lighting and colour and is a reference point for me to work from.
This video, like all the tutorials, is to give some helpful guidance for you to form your own ideas, lighting and workflow.

    The battery tech is horrible for the AD400, you can recover the battery but it takes time and sometimes additional equipment. On rare occasions you can rest the battery without having to take them apart. I would recommend them to anyone unless the person is tech savvy and has The time to fix them when the battery fails.

    you overdo every single lighting tutorial that you make - not every pocket of light or highlight is created by an entirely new strobe. a strobe can do more than light up one single part of your body/backdrop and not everybody should throw lights at a model for every body part to control it. you don't have to throw flags at every single area on the studio, the set literally looks like a maze(??). your background is being lit by 5 different lights. there is so much you can do with 5 lights - i even think its possible to light something like this entirely, including the model and the background, with 5 lights entirely - i will leave that as an exercise to you. more importantly, the primary demographic of your audience are people who are not established fashion photographers and more on the beginner level - these people will start thinking you have to use 5 lights to light up a gradient background like this, which is totally false. They will get into the unhealthy habit of throwing lights at a situation and using v-flats and flags to control them instead of learning how to being flexible and use the few lights you will realistically have on set. word of unsolicited advice - for these tutorials, challenge yourself to do more with lesser lights and not just spray equipment because it's a computer simulation - your knowledge of lighting will grow by doing this. i guarantee you william arcand is not using 9 or 10 lights for this shot. the beauty of lighting lies in understanding how to make the most of your light, and that is what you should be sharing with your viewers. these complicated setups only alienate beginners and put them off the art of lighting a set or how to use light properly.

    • @easystudiolighting
      @easystudiolighting 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@vadali93 thanks definitely unsolicited advice you were right with that aspect for sure 😅 I have tutorials on working with 1 light, with 2 lights, how to work with one modifier etc so I am sure I can leave it for viewers to decide what they want to watch. Thanks for the suggestion of an exercise to complete 😅 but as I explain in every video I am illustrating concepts. For example I show several ways to create a rim light in one video, several ways to light a background. I wouldn’t ever expect someone to copy every element that would be wild. Interesting. I've avoided these because they're the worst possible combination for me - big and bulky but rather limited in power. Ive got a few of the little 300w/s ones and a big 600w/s with a separate head for when i need some grunt. Wish someone like Profoto would make a light that's actually attainable for mere mortals.

      Profoto definitely are introducing more lights for everyday budgets (I mean relatively 😄 everyday) the A2 isnt crazy prices, but yeah I get you. I really hope that Godox do fix this problem long term though, so many people have the product already!

  • @djrt8179
    @djrt8179 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I just can't trust battery lights for studio purposes for this exact reason, ESPECIALLY for a cheaper brand. I use Godox for background lights for video work, not a complete Godox hater, I even have some super old Godox strobes that are reliable when I need to throw something up, but battery tech isn't as easy and can be very dangerous. Wouldn't invest money in cheap batteries ever.
