Alex Prager x Nadia Lee Cohen + Movie Inspiration : The TikToks x 3
This is a compilation of my TikToks on Alex Prager and Nadia Lee Cohen.
I saw Alex Pragers first London exhibition 2008 and fell in love with the work, it had a huge impact on some UK photographers including Nadia Lee Cohen.
Nadia Lee Cohen, I take a look at her cinematic lighting and her use of narrative storytelling by taking the themes of directors she borrows heavily from in her early work.
The video finishes with 20s of inspirational movie scenes or lighting.
I was recently asked to make my TikToks available to people who don't have the app, so this is what I am doing here.
I know its not the ideal layout and but I cant post longform Portrait format videos, so hopefully this isn't super annoying. If it is, dont send me bad vibes :)

Nadia Lee cohen has nothing special to offer just a load of nepotism. Her style despite being creative with the money she has is not groundbreaking or special. She is where she’s at because of what she has. Not self made like Gabriel Moses, Jack Bridgland, Elizaveta Porodrina etc

I think I mumbled "oh, my god" when I first saw a Pavarotti image. His work is so singular and immediate and weirdly pure. It doesn't feel overworked or contrived like David LaChappelle's work or beautiful and genteel like Vallonrat's pics but some how more muscular. I'm hoping his success doesn't water down his vision.... In a past life I used to be a director of photography in publishing in NYC and back then I would have hired someone with Pavarotti vision in a second for celebrity portraits... now as a commercial photographer I think "Oh...I wish I took pics like that..."

Interesting pov, I also really like his work, though I know it polarises opinion (or at least the one guy that kept spamming the comments 😅) I totally get what you mean about celebrity work, could be a great fit. Personally way back in the day I loved David LaChappelle but it was pretty early in my learning about good work - definitely of a time and place. Thanks for watching!

Since those images don't have to be in your images set, I'm slowly building library of color pallets that I like. Match look moves the sliders for you, and I then can go back and learn from it.
